Shoutout to my friend for creating the hc that Treech has a younger sister and also shoutout to the same friend for also creating the hc that she waited at the train station for him to come back from the games for weeks not realising that Treech had died because he promised her that he would win

Also, even though the show decided to ignore it after Rhaenyra and Rhaenys’ conversation in episode 8, most people believe that Rhaenyra and Daemon are already kinslayers because they, for some reason, thought that it was a good idea to make people suspect that they had killed their cousin and Rhaenyra’s husband Laenor just because his existence stood in the way of them getting married (just like Rhea Royce who people suspect was killed by Daemon because her existence stood in the way of him getting what he wanted).
This was also just days after Rhaenyra asked for her maimed 10-year-old little brother to be “sharply questioned” (a euphemism for torture in Westeros)* and made his maiming into an example of what happens to anyone who questions her.
*No, I dont think Rhaenyra actually wanted him to be tortured, but she wanted others to believe she would be willing to do it. And yes, Alicent treated Rhaenyra’s kids horribly, and they had reasons to be afraid too, but this reblog is only about the green's POV.
Then there is the way that Vaemond Velaryon, a high-ranking member of one of the most powerful houses in Westeros, was extrajudicially murdered (Viserys said that he should have his tongue cut out, not killed) in front of several of the most powerful people in the realm (including Alicent and her kids), which is also for some reason ignored right after.
My girl Rhaenyra being compared to the Undisputed Rightful Heir Unfairly Killed and Eternally Mourned Prince Mustafa when the main premise of her story is that no matter how good or special or charismatic Rhaenyra was she would never ever compete with the sacred legitimacy of the Holy Male Heir Aegon II and her entire legacy was smeared for even daring to challenge this and two centuries later she is still considered a whore and a traitor because she broke the Andal Custom "She was daughter to one king and mother to two more, yet she died a traitor's death for trying to usurp her brother's crown. It is law. Law, Davos. Not cruelty" like I get that we can all have opinions and I get that everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion but there is a point where going through the tags becomes a horrifying experience. Like you cannot possibly be so unserious

Also, in the movie, the timing of Felix Ravinstill’s death was very convenient. Especially since we know she doesn't care much about hurting the students (*cough* Clemensia *cough*).
I mean, what are the chances that the president’s son, who was injured in a (supposed) rebel bombing, just happened to die of his injuries at the exact same time one of the tributes was gathering the bodies of the dead tributes and tore down the flag to cover them?
I can only think of 3 possible options:
Dr. Gaul was lucky, and Felix actually did just happen to die at the exact time she needed something she could use to justify sending the snakes
He had died earlier, but they kept it secret until Dr. Gaul needed to use something to justify sending the snakes
Dr. Gaul killed him when she saw what Reaper was doing, so she had something she could use to justify sending the snakes
Given how the snakes were dropped into the arena through a hole in the ceiling, you gotta wonder how Gaul was planning to get them in there before the bombing. Nobody could have seen that one coming, right?
You don’t just create snakes in a day or even a week. That kind of thing takes, even though hers were still babies. Yes, the snakes were still young, but they’d clearly been made far before the bombing. Gaul was always planning on releasing them into the games, I don’t think it’s controversial to say she was just using the deaths of Breen (book) and Felix (movie) as an excuse to do so. If they hadn’t died she would have found a different justification. So it was always her intention to release them into the games. Both the means to get the snakes into the arena and her reason for letting them loose were caused by the bombing…
Look I’m not saying Gaul was behind those bombs, I’m just pointing out that it sure was convenient for her.

Bot accounts and Real people with accounts.
I’m pretty sure the tumblr community is well aware of this problem and probably loads of other people have already made posts about this, so I’ll keep it brief.
So recently blogs like this keep appearing in my followers list (these are recent ones)
Tumblr media
Now when you get a spam blogs or p*rn bots you’re supposed to blog them. But some these blogs are actual people who are new on tumblr and have the default icon, so you’re supposed to check before who block them. But here’s the problem…
Tumblr media
some of these blogs don’t have anything. No posts, No description, No title. So you’re gonna automatically assume that these are spam and block them.
Now I hate fact that some of these blogs belong to actual people and I’ve been blocking and reporting on blogs like these for the past few days, and that they’re probably wondering why there being blocked or reported. ( sorry to the people who own blogs like these that I blocked you)
So a couple of tips for new blogs on this site,
1.You could change the title (a catchphrase, a favorite quote, a random sentence etc.) or type small description, or whatever random stuff you like!
2. You could change the your avator or icon (it be a picture of you, a cartoon, again it’s your choice do whatever)
3.If you’re not planning to frequently post stuff and just sign in to check out other people’s stuff, just put a put a post something like this just to show you’re new here.(again u can write down anything)
Tumblr media
if you’re reading this and new to this website I hope you found these suggestions useful and should stop you from getting blocked immediately. Happy posting.

In addition, they were outnumbered and already struggling due to low supplies (exacerbated by team black’s forces using the scorched earth policy by burning down their forests and villages), disease, and team black using guerilla warfare tactics (raids and ambushes) against them.
I will also never be able to understand how killing a man who's trying to negotiate for the survival of his men under a peace banner (which included him being willing to risk his life by offering a 1 vs. 3 trial by combat) and then slaughtering hundreds of severely struggling men while they were trying to surrender just to spite their commander is somehow satisfying for people. Sure, it definitely wasn't the worst war crime committed during the Dance, but the only one who comes out looking honorable in that situation is Criston, while his killers just seem like petty cowards. (Also, Garibald and Pate taking Criston’s decapitated head to Tumbleton doesn't exactly reflect well on their intelligence, considering that they are about to face a kid with a dragon who has won every battle he has fought in and sacked and burned down a town because some of the inhabitants killed another one of the people he cared about)
I also think it kind of decreases the validity of the “he was an envoy” part of why Aemond killing Luke was wrong (although it only invalidates that part specifically).
Hello! What are your thoughts on how Criston Cole died in the Butcher's Ball? Do you think Garibald Grey, Dustin, and Pate Longleaf's tactics were treacherous and cowardly? I do not understand why Cole's death is seen as satisfying when he was trying to surrender and save his men in a battle they knew they could not win. And Garibald even acknowledged that it was not a fair battle and it was a massacre.
Well, Sahtine, there's really no other way to put this. The white flag has been used even in Roman times, it's been used in the medieval period, it's been used across continents. It's been an integral part of international law ever since we can ascertain that something resembling this concept exists. It's in the Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907, it's in Hugo Grotius' 1625 De jure belli ac pacis. People across space and time know what it means and have somehow agreed to respect it so often that the practice became quasi-universal. Killing someone that comes under a peace banner is breaking the laws of war, plain and simple. Many military manuals pertaining to countries all around the world consider firing intentionally upon a parlementaire carrying a flag of truce to be a literal war crime: https://ihl-databases.icrc.org/fr/customary-ihl/v2/rule67
They could have just refused Criston's offer of trial by combat, sent him back and met his army on the battlefield. But that was the whole point, wasn't it, to deny him an "honourable" death. Had Criston's army surrendered first and were butchered regardless, it still would have been considered a war crime. It still should be, because the men laid down their shields and fled.
With Ser Criston dead upon the ground, the men who had followed him from Harrenhal lost heart. They broke and fled, casting aside their shields as they ran. Their foes came after, cutting them down by the hundreds. Afterward Ser Garibald was heard to say, “Today was butchery, not battle.”
The United Nations defines "no quarter given" as a war crime. Killing members of the armed forces who have laid down their arms is also considered a war crime: https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/war-crimes.shtml. Sure, the UN is a contemporary organization, but these principles are not new, they've just been more recently enshrined on paper.
So, yes. IDK who thinks of it as "satisfying". It's really there in the text to highlight how Rhaenyra's side committed atrocities, too.

Ok, to be fair, Daemon did groom Rhaenyra when she was younger (which I have seen them romanticizing and sexualizing), but yeah…
Calling a girl/woman a whore is already bad enough (although I guess it makes sense that toxic Daemon ‘always calls every woman he doesn't like a gendered slur’ Targaryen stans don't get that it's disgusting and wrong…), but doing it because she was the victim of grooming and SA is just downright terrifying
Also, poor Laena!
Alicent, Laena, and even Rhaenyra deserve so much better than these toxic stans
I’m a big real blogger who got ~that~ blackcel triggered!
I thought that this blogger had calmed down because I wasn’t seeing their antics anymore but guess not!

Yes, I'm still not over how GRRM created several perfect setups for a woman vs. man succession war in a patriarchal medieval feudalistic monarchy:
Rhaenys (only child of the older son) vs. Baelon (younger son)
Rhaenys (only child of the older brother) vs. Viserys (oldest son of the younger brother)
Rhaenyra (only child) vs. Daemon (brother)
but then he decided that the succession war would be between Rhaenyra (oldest child) vs. Aegon (oldest son)
The only way sister vs. brother makes sense in the established lore (which is more misogynistic than real life) is if the brother is illegitimate, which would be similar to Daeron II Targaryen (oldest legitimate son) vs. Daemon I Blackfyre (legitimized bastard who was favored by their king father)
Grrm was so unserious when made Rhaenyra based on Matilda and Aegon ii on Stephen... Like the only similarity between rhaenyra and Matilda is the fact that both of them were women fighting against men for the throne and that's where their similarity end . Matilda is not vain , coward, cruel, and tyrannical like rhaenyra lmao . Also Stephen (according to historians) is brave, fighting in his war, attractive, charismatic , generous and kind while Aegon on the other hand is brave true however he is just a lazy hedonist . Now I know they are not supposed to be copied and pasted From their historical counterparts , but i feel Grrm should have add more redeeming-compelling qualities to both of Aegon and rhaenyra , especially rhaenyra she is annoying fr. Also grrm did her real dirty when he made aegon her brother lmao like the only reason Matilda was named heir is because her brother died , so it will make since if grrm made aegon rhaenyra's uncle or cousin like being Rhaenys's son or something because him being Rhaenys's legitimate brother made her claim comically weak.
I have been losing my voice yelling over this. Stephen was able to mount a war over Matilda while being her cousin via Henry I's sister (not even brother!). No one, absolutely no one, in 12th Century England (where this storyline was taken from) would have looked 1 (one) second at Rhaenyra (when her brother Aegon was right there) and considered her claim.
Those entire plot points of the lords swearing an oath to Rhaenyra and the king "changing his mind on his death bed" were lifted straight out of The Anarchy as well. That didn't stop other people in real life from naming Stephen as their King, a result of which is that Matilda is not considered Queen within the historiography, only a claimant. Just like Rhaenyra.
For anyone who stubbornly refuses to accept that Rhaenyra's claim is very much disputable and a similar case has already been disputed in history to the detriment of the female claimant. Not to mention that Stephen's claim was a lot weaker than Aegon's is. All of this knowledge is a bloody Wikipedia page away. 🤷‍♀️

These tags are just too good:
#asoiaf fans love to hate women who ‘accept their fate’ as if they aren’t women living in a patriarchal feudal system with no traces or hints #of a formal feminist movement or anything. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THEM
- @fuckalicent
#how dare she *checks notes* want the son she was abused & r8ped to conceive to take the throne #which every fucking high lord or prince in the world wants for their sons and they weren’t even forced to have them #when visenya did it everyone cheered #but she has DARK HAIR and NO DRAGON so she’s EVIL
- @ecce-felix
#if you see someone in this fandom bring up feminism run because they’re about to have the most misogynistic take in history
- @cherrybubbl
#people also forget what we perceive as feminism today is not what it was hundreds of years ago in a society like Westeros #and what 15 year old knows what to do in a situation like Alicent’s because I know I wouldn’t if I was her
- @lady-clouves
alicent antis are like ok well she didn’t dismantle the patriarchy at 15 so she doesn’t deserve to ever complain about anything that happens to her because she allowed it. and the things that happen to her are forced child marriage and multiple pregnancies by a gaslighting hag
