ik clay is a very selfish man, but do you think he could actually fall IN love with Orel???

Hmm, this is an interesting question...

My interpretation is that Clay views Orel as an extension of himself - who he hates. I think, because of this, he's incapable of truly loving his son in any way, romantic or parental. I don't think it's a matter of selfishness exactly, but moreso that Orel is a representation of both his failures and ideals that intimidate him. Despite shipping them, I don't really think Clay has much attraction to Orel - Orel is just a device he can use and take frustration out on. It's mostly feuled by hatred.

Of course, there is a more pathetic side to Clay. He wants love, he wants adoration, and when he starts to lose his grip on Orel, he gets desperate and frazzled. He undoubtedly feels connected to Orel in a fucked up way, and I think it's possible that in some context he may begin trying to appease Orel in order to keep that connection. I could see him take a sharp turn from aggressive to groveling, under the right circumstances.

But ultimately, no, I don't think he could be in love with Orel. I think he has complicated feelings towards him, in that part of him wants to be a good father but doesn't know what a good father should be, and another part of him wants to be a God controlling him, and another can't look him in the eye out of disgust for everything Orel is. Any love within him is swallowed whole by these other feelings.

Sometimes I wonder if making a competing Moral Orel confessions blog is worth it, because I'd love to get "I want Orel to cum from getting spanked" like every other day on my dash. Kind of like what you got going on here. The only confessions blog I know is proship DNI so :/

I think, if you'd like your own space, then you should definitely make it. I enjoy having multiple blogs, so I kind of constantly recommend making a new blog to others hahaha. My advice here is totally make your blog, make any blog you'd like, and when it comes to having a proship blog, do it for yourself, not to spite antis. Stay out of discourse and just post what you want.

#maybe 'dont do things to spite antis' is a bit silly coming from the guy whos 1 of 2 fics on ao3 was for that purpose #but im genuinely very unphased by internet threats and hate and arguments and etc etc #so if youre one who gets upset by it then protect yourself #and if you get into it to have someone to yell at then maybe find an outlet for your emotions that doesnt involve other real people #ask

i think a lot about that scene from orels movie premiere where doughy is reading out clays dialogue and he says "i beat you, and then i lecture you. and thats it. nothing else" and then dr potterswheel says like immediately after "is his dad molesting him"... what were we supposed to take away from that that ISNT "clay is raping orel" oh my fucking god this show isnt real

I totally missed this ask whoops haha. But yeah that line always gets me. What was that supposed to mean. I've said this before, but I genuinely believed that Orel was going to get canonically molested in Nature when I saw the show for the first time because of that line.
