Delivering Alcohol (Current Drivers Only)

Hello current Instacarters!  I have exciting news for you all.  If you are already shopping for and delivering groceries, here’s another opportunity to be making more by filling out a form and doing what you are already doing.

This video takes you through the steps of understanding the alcohol delivery process, and the rules you must abide when fulfilling Instacart customer requests when they order alcohol with their groceries.

Make sure to review everything in the link above, but remember the most important things are:

1) Make sure they are 21 and above by checking their ID when arriving at their door with their groceries.

2) Have them sign the form they are mandated to fill out.

Make sure to snag all the hours!  Busier (fire symbols) days means more work, so you should start by working on the slower days.  This means you can spend time getting adjusted to your workflow, practice finding items, and anything else that helps with Instacart!

The best way to get the most out of your time is to figure out a way to make tips!  It makes everything about service jobs worth your while.  

Now, the best ways to get tipped is to provide exceptional customer service.

Tip 1: Look Like A Customer

People tip better when you look like your customer.  This goes for young college students out there, who look like the same customers ordering grocery delivery.

Tip 2: Talk Like A Customer

Another effective trick to get people to tip more is to talk with the same mannerisms as they do.  It creates a sense of connection, and they feel inclined to tip you as they feel more like they really know you.

Tip 3: Introduce Yourself by Name 

While shopping for groceries, sometimes you may come across items that might not be at the store you’re in.  In cases like these, make sure to include your name when introducing yourself before proceeding to text the customer about changes you’d have to make to the order, or when you are on your way to deliver the goods.

Tip 4: Love the Pets

This goes out to all animal lovers!  You know what really works?  Compliment their dogs / cats!!  People really love it when you can show that you appreciate their animals.

(If you are not an animal person, then try not to make that obvious!)

Tip 5: Fulfill all the orders right and be on time.

Of course, all of the above matters but you should always provide exemplary service when making grocery deliveries to people.  It’s always good to double check what you have inside your cart before proceeding to checkout within the store, make sure you have all your delivery routes set and on track, and go do your duties!
