There have been some fantastic additions/upgrades that let you customize how textures/graphics are rendered -- this means that you can tweak the settings for your system. I still think that it's important that builders know how to optimize their builds (this isn't an excuse to be lazy in that regard, imo), but it does really help with the "I can't optimize for everyone" problem by letting people adjust for whatever their rig happens to be. : )

“can anyone hear me” and “its so dark in here” and “who said that” have got to be some of my fav things to say on a post because it brings to mind being locked in a room or lost in a cave, probably because of what youve said. not being called out in desperation, but in much calmer yet still resigned-to-your-fate way. in the case of “who said that” you’re saying something out the side of your mouth or under your breath, sometimes just fully out loud, then feigning bewilderment to whip around and look behind you. Sometimes in this case you’re in a vast and empty wheat field with no audience anyway. In all cases you’re definitely some sort of madman or loon or otherwise totally bonkers. just a glimpse into how my Posting Interpretation is.

My Muppet Princess Bride drawings found their way to Facebook and from that came a ton of good suggestions for scenes. Rizzo as a R.O.U.S. has been suggested by a lot of different folks for as long as I've been doing these drawings, but I was never quite sure how to handle the scene until a commenter suggested Rizzo's line. Maybe it resonated with me because I can kinda relate to Rizzo in this moment (especially so soon after Valentines Day!). Thanks to Paul Adams who provided Rizzo's line, and gave me permission to use it in this drawing.

And shout-out to movie-screencaps.com for providing the backgrounds, I like to edit shots from the movie for my backgrounds because it allows me to focus on the fun part of drawing Muppets. There's also just something fun about 'painting' the Muppets into the actual film.

Fun story: while in the Navy, I got to overnight in the ANS Anzac (GREAT SHIP, GREAT CREW). I was a junior USian Enlisted person and bunked down in the berthing (bunk room) that my onboard sponsor (AWESOME PERSON), slept in. The next morning, I was in the head (bathroom) brushing my teeth, when all of the sudden a middle-aged man with a towel over his nethers stepped up and greeted me with a cheery "Mornin!" and commenced to brush his teeth. I contained my shock (maybe? Probably he had a funny story to tell his mates later tho) and then went to my sponsor and said, in what was probably an appalled, strangled whisper, "there was a man in the head" and she patiently explained that the heads in Australian naval vessels (or that one, at least) are co-ed. There are stalls on everything where you would conceivably expose your genitals (showers, toilets, and the urinals were behind a screen). You just didn't go out in the common spaces without your bits covered up.

Blew my mind. I grew up in an environment designed to teach me that such things matter, but in reality, they don't.

Another fun fact that blew my mind: instead of pre-sliced bread (which is what we got in US destroyers), the Enlisted persons' mess (dining hall) served a huge fresh-baked loaf of bread, with a large serrated knife so that you could cut your own damned slices.

Me: They trust you with knives...? I will never forget it as long as I live.

i have a poll request based on a poll that was posted on here probably a few weeks ago by the time this is posted

the poll was about gender neutral public bathrooms, specifically with stalls and some women in the notes were strongly against them, saying they wouldn‘t want to see men’s genitals. and because the poll was specifically about bathrooms with separate stalls it got me wondering:
