I’m going to show this to my kid when she’s older, because I think it’s good for her to understand what will happen to her body rather than it just happening and she feels like she’s dying or bleeding to death. Thanks. Bye.
these parents are so angry 😭
The film tackles the transition from childhood to womanhood, challenges of mother-daughter relationships and generational trauma all in under two hours. While many praised the project for its normalization of these topics, some parents who watched the film felt that its themes were “too mature” for their children…
Director Domee Shi said she hopes the movie “starts those conversations and that we can eventually just normalize talking about puberty and menstruation and not feel so weird about it.”
IF I LIVED IN NORTH CAROLINA, I WOULD SHOP AT FOOD LION EVERYDAY. I WOULD FILL UP MY GAS AT WAWA AND DRINK THEIR EXTRA LARGE VANILLA ICED COFFEE. I WOULD SMOKE OUTSIDE SHEETZ AND DRINK CHEERWINE EVERY NIGHT. I WOULD POUR A SUN DROP FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FRIENDS AND DO A LIGHTHOUSE TOUR EVERY SUMMER. WE WOULD GO TO COOKOUT EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR THEIR DELICIOUS PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SHAKES. AND MOST OF ALL, I WOULD BE THE GREATEST BANJO PLAYER THAT EVER WALKED THE STREETS OF CHARLOTTE.
