Diaspora - Cultural mixing, borrowing, sharing, reclaiming, and everything that immigrants and their descendants do in diaspora!

Hi there! Yeah, unfortunately we don’t have any plans for future events right now.

We have talked about it being a shame that all the art and fic that people created for the previous events is just disappearing into the Tumblr void, so we’ll try to set up a queue with all the old works soon!

Author sign ups closed a few days ago and the turnout was absolutely amazing! We have around 57 authors signed up, which means that we’re short on artists and betas.

If you want to collaborate with an author on a fabulous new fic, sign up here!

All skill levels and styles are welcome, and we have virtually no limitations on the type of art that you can create - drawing, gifsets, photosets, knitting, playlists, podfic - you name it!

Jedi June 2020

A creative fandom event dedicated to appreciating the Jedi, taking place during the weekends of June! Each day of the weekends will feature a prompt, around which people can create fanwork (of any kind – fic, art, cosplay, edits, anything you can think of) or meta focusing on the Jedi and the Jedi Order. All eras and continuities are welcome; OCs, established characters, doesn’t matter – it just needs to be about appreciating the Jedi!

Rules:

If you are participating, please tag your work/meta with #jedi june and/or @ this blog so that I will see it and reblog it here. All work must be your own. Feel free to crosspost it off-site.

This is an appreciation event, focusing on what we love and enjoy about the Jedi – not what we don’t. This is not the place to air your grievances with the Code or take potshots at the Council or prop certain Jedi/certain eras of Jedi up at the expense of others. There are plenty of other places for that if that’s your thing.

Following the weekend prompts is encouraged, but not required. Any sort of pro-Jedi content is encouraged all year month long, and if tagged (and following the rules) will be reblogged.

Announcing STAR WARS BIG BANG 2019!

If you’re like me, you’ve been waiting for this moment since, oh, probably May 10th.

Sign-ups for SWBB 2019 are now open and this year we’re using a fancy new Google Form to get everyone situated.  You can find that here:  https://goo.gl/forms/gjOxoMCPxZ0hzK4y2.  Author sign-ups close December 29th.

Dates (and hopefully a FAQ!) are coming soon; your mod got caught up preparing for NaNoWriMo and November snuck up out of nowhere.  Such is life.

Interested in doing our banner art this year?  Ping [email protected] and prepare to be glomped.  Feel free to ask any questions at that address or by submission to this tumblr (response times will vary).

Friendly reminder that we are approximately two weeks until assignments are due! You can find a countdown clock above!

We are also one week away from the no-penalty default deadline, which means that if you default after 11/17 at 8PM PST, you will be required to complete a work for your recipient at some point before sign ups begin next year if you’d like to participate in next year’s exchange.

The Reylo Charity Anthology

Welcome to the Reylo Charity Anthology, a new collaborative project that aims to raise money for the ACLU, Save the Children, and the Southern Poverty Law Center through a collection of works donated by our talented community of writers and artists.  

Here’s how it works…

Between now and June 18, 2018, we invite all creators who would like to contribute a work to this anthology to sign up here.

You will then have until October 30, 2018 to complete and submit your work.

The completed anthology will be made available on November 15, 2018, exclusively to people who have donated to one of the three charities listed above.

Once donors have had a chance to enjoy the anthology, fanworks can be made more publically available starting on January 1, 2019, should the creators so choose.

If you would like to receive a copy of this special anthology, all we ask is you make a donation, of any size, to one of the charities listed above. Please send a copy of your donation receipt to [email protected].

If you have any questions please check out our FAQ. If you can’t find your answer there, send us an Ask! We encourage you to follow this blog for info and updates as we make our way through the year. We are really excited about this project and can’t wait to work with you to do good!
