I won't make it through this without sobbing my eyes out. #JimHenson helped make me who I am. He gave me worlds and friends and magic. He took cloth and made it live and breathe and say hello.
I wrote this a few years ago after hearing again how he made @kermitthefrog . It's called Just A Coat.
It’s just a coat
No it isn’t
Of course it is. It’s just a coat.
Nothing is just something.
You’re crazy.
Maybe but watch this.
What are you doing with that coat?
These are eyes.
Coats can’t see.
Hello there!
Coats can’t talk!
Who said this is just a coat?
Then what is it?
It can be anything.
You can’t be just anything.
Yes you can. You can be anything you want.
Fine, what is it then?
It’s a frog. 🐸

@jimhensonscreatureshop @disneyplus @themuppets Thank you for celebrating him.
For those who hadn't seen this yet and with Late Night With The Devil hitting this week on Shudder, I figured it would be a good time to reshare the Nightstalker retrospective I did which David kindly joined in on as a fan of the film and series. It helped inspire his comics too.
It's good to know Vincent Van Ghoul had the same priorities as The Ghoul.
"This is a tale of how I went to the dogs or, to be numerically correct, to the dog. Now please do not expect this book to end with a glorious proclamation of rehabilitation. Not a chance. After fourteen years I'm incurably hooked on, intoxicated by, and addicted to - my dog Joe."
Vincent Price, "The Book of Joe - About a Man And His Dog".
Cooper/TheGhoul won me by being pissed as hell and saying fuck you to assholes who thought it was okay to deny your dog the right to live and safety. I would set the world on fire for my dogs if someone even thought to hurt them. I’m forever Team Ghoul
