📖 reading w/ pony 📖

this one’s for my sister! they requested this but don’t have an account for me to tag so oh well lol

imagine you’re in pony and soda’s room, reading Gone With the Wind. ponyboy’s reading aloud while you listen intently. you were reading, too, but you enjoyed listening to his voice more. it was sweet, and angelic. anyone could realize that. it was nice to listen to, and it was as if you could hear his love for sunsets with how he takes stops to breathe, and how he pronounces his r’s.

johnny had been there earlier, because he also enjoyed being read to, but he left halfway through to go to the dx with dally to visit soda and steve. you liked johnny’s presence; with the boy being so cute and sweet, but you liked being alone with pony more.

his voice slowly faded as your eyes fell shut. it was always nice falling asleep to his voice. he had just gotten past a part he had read to johnny a few times; the word “gallant” ringing in your head.

you woke up a few hours later, pony’s arm draped over your torso; it seems as though he’d fallen asleep too. you heard the rest of the gang’s voices, except for johnny. you knew he was there, though, just quiet as per usual.

you heard soda yell at two-bit to inform him that a mickey mouse episode was on, and then what sounded like two-bit’s feet rushing towards the living room. you smiled to yourself, and put your hand on pony’s.

yeah, this was just fine.

yet another one for @zeerowdie! when I had originally asked him for any requests he may have, he suggested valentine’s day and halloween. I ended up making just the valentine’s day one, but I decided that it would be fun to make this one too :)

🐴ponyboy curtis:

would definitely go as paul newman

it’s literally the only thing he’d go as

is still into trick-or-treating, and would force the gang to go with him

gets upset that the gang isn’t going fast enough

“hurry up! this is precious candy time ur wasting”

literally hops from home to home he’s so excited

would prank two-bit a few times

does little dances when he gets his favorite candy

he does little dances a lot

would want to watch a movie afterwards

and have a few smokes with the gang

isn’t exactly into matching costumes

but would love to see other people’s matching outfits

would laugh and call them tuff

🐶johnny cade:

a sucker for matching costumes

if it were more modern, he’d like to go as harley quinn and the joker with someone else

although he’d prefer to be harley

thinks the shorts (panties?) make his butt look good lol

if he didn’t have anyone to match with, he’d probably choose a random costume

and would pout b/c no one wanted to match with him :((

would literally give into two-bit’s begging just to match w/ someone

if he got a costume with a skirt

he’d show it off with a little twirl

and say

“am I pretty? 🥺”

ofc he is tho

he just wants to hear it :((

would smile and giggle when someone gave him candy

would do a little face paint just to look as though he put effort into his “costume”

but the paint wasn’t safe for his skin

and also wouldn’t come off

he was bright pink and deep purple for the next few days

looked like he had been through the toughest rumble ever

would end up giving most of his candy to the younger members of the gang (spoiler alert: pony & johnny ended up w/ the most candy)

🔫dallas winston:

I think anyone could’ve guessed this but

he wouldn’t dress up

would just be like “eh”

and would probably smoke the entire time the rest were trick-or-treating

would hit on a few single moms tbh

and give a wink to single dads

he knows no limits

would laugh when one of them stumbles over their words

and maybe steals a bowl

or a few

specifically from people with bowls outside of their house that say “take one”

needless to say he doesn’t take just one

after johnny begged him, he’d go to one house to get candy

“uhh, give me candy or some shit. idk”

he looked kind of dumb

but damn if he’d never been more confident

would go home just to watch more mickey mouse

probably had the most fun out of everyone

🏡darrel curtis:

is awkward af lol

still tries to use the “I’m too old for this”

but goes anyway

he knows it’s better to just give in than listen to pony whine all night

would stand at people’s doors like 🧍🏻‍♂️

doesn’t know what to do anymore

is the one to get dally in place when he’s causing trouble

when they get home he’s the one that stays up to give kids candy

is up until like midnight giving out candy

and steals a few of his favorites from what ponyboy got

watches a few scary movies before he goes to bed

which both pony and soda think he’s nuts for

they don’t know how he does it, honestly

🔧steve randle:

would probably “dress up” like soda

except he put an unnecessary mask on

so that he doesn’t have to deal with a pink/purple face for the next week

he thought it through more than soda did

is more than likely drunk/high while trick-or-treating

so he’s laughing his ass off the entire time

trips over his own feet quite a few times

soda has to make sure he’s steady

tries to break dance in the middle of the street

and nearly breaks his back

he doesn’t know when to stop tbh

puts bowls on his head

cause why not?

probably has as much fun as two-bit did

they all had a lot of fun in the end, and enjoyed spending time with each other

🐶 late night love - j.c. 🐶

hello! it’s me again. this one’s kind of just for me to indulge in lol, but I hope you enjoy it too :) I absolutely love this sweet boy, and I think this shows it

imagine coming home after a long day of work, looking forward to seeing your favorite boy. you don’t expect him to be up, due to it being so late, but seeing his beautiful sleeping face is enough.

but, to your surprise, johnny is laying on the couch, dozing off. he looks tired, as if he’d been up waiting for you all night. he was wearing his usual sleep wear; a white tank top and cute sleeping shorts he bought when he had just enough for them. he liked the outfit a lot, especially because the tank top was yours. it hung a little loose off of him, because you’re taller, but it just made him adore it more.

“love?” you called. johnny perked up as soon as he heard your voice. it was his favorite sound in the world, and it showed. because he was usually quiet, he adored listening to you talk. it got to a point where he’d call you almost everyday at work and spend so much time listening to your voice that your boss would yell at you to get back to work.

“what are you doing up, hun? you should be in bed,” you looked at his tiny form, and couldn’t resist picking him up. when you did, he buried his face in your neck; wrapping his legs around your torso.

“mmm,” he said in content. “wanted to see you.”

you instantly felt bad, knowing he was staying up so late just to see you once made you feel guilty. you knew you were gone a lot for work, and he knew it too. you hated coming home so late, but you had to put food on the table somehow.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. please don’t stay up so late for me, I promise I’ll take a different shift.” he made a small noise, and you couldn’t tell what it meant.

“it’s alright, I just wanna be able to fall asleep with you,” he whispered. the poor boy was drifting off in your arms.

“alright, johnnycake. let’s go to bed.” you felt him smile sleepily into your neck, this time making a noise of content.

when you got into your shared room, you put him down on the bed before changing into your sleep clothes. your outfit was close to his, which is another thing he adored. the only difference was that you had long sweatpants that were a black and dark purple, the opposite of his shorter shorts that were a light pink and yellow.

he smiled once again once you had finished getting dressed, and held his arms open. when you got into bed, you wrapped your arms around him again, and he put his leg on top of yours.

“love you,” he slurred, tiredly.

“love you too, baby. get some sleep.” you pushed his hair out of his face gently, cupping his face lovingly.

he made another content noise, and fell fast asleep.

you continued to stare at him in adoration. he had been through so much, but continued to be so kind and loving. as you started to drift off too, you had only one question in mind.

how did I get so lucky?

imagine laying down in the lot, dally right beside you. you both smoked, but you had never done it together. it was kind of weird, considering how you were together most of the time. but, you guessed it’s just because you are mostly talking. you are the only person aside from johnny that could ever get dally talking until he stuttered over his words.

as you took a long drag from your cigarette, you looked over your shoulder to see dally staring at you. he hadn’t exactly said anything since you’d met for the first time that night, but as he blew the smoke out of his mouth, and you had followed the motion, he started to speak.

“love,” he said, continuing to stare at you. he said it so low you almost didn’t hear him.

“yes? why are you staring at me?” you laughed a bit, and continued to stare back; widening your eyes.

he laughed back, and said, “you know I love you, right?”

“mhm.” you hummed, laying back next to him. it was cheesy, but you both stared at the stars together; getting lost in their twinkles.

“not gonna say it back? how rude.” he laughed yet again. yeah, he was high.

“love you too, dork.” he smiled at your words, and laid his head on your shoulder. he wouldn’t admit it to any of the gang, but he loved doing that. he loved being close to you, and loved it even more when you’d lay your head on top of his.

his smile started to fade as he fell asleep, but he was still radiating happiness. he felt loved, and you did too. it had been a long time since either of you had felt this way, but you were more than happy that you had each other.

you were all he needed, and he was all you needed. late nights spent smoking together in the lot was just the beginning.

because he knows he’ll win

but he does get a little confident sometimes

usually tries to play for a few minutes before heading to the dx

but refuses to play against johnny

anger.

just pure anger.

he absolutely hates it

rage quits a lot

doesn’t understand why creepers keep blowing his house up

also doesn’t understand why it keeps catching on fire

(it’s wooden. but he still doesn’t get it.)

usually gets angrily excited when killing a mob

starts to jump around and curse loudly at the tv

probably breaks his bed at some point

nearly breaks the console/computer when he wins

unlike johnny, he quite enjoys bragging

although he’s not the oldest in the gang

he’s honestly just as bad as his brothers

almost never beats the game

makes johnny come in and beat the game for him

and then bring the rest of the gang into his room like

“guys! look! I finally got it! I beat all of y’all”

the only time he’s immature is when he’s playing the game

kind of good at it, surprisingly

likes to show off against soda

and brag to sandy and evie about it

and, obviously, the rest of the gang

he’s not as good at it as johnny, but he’s relatively close

smokes while playing

so he’s usually high

“give me that stick, bitch!”

and the gang definitely does not think he’s playing minecraft

doesn’t actually have a house

he thinks he’s a god at the game

so, naturally, he doesn’t need one

literally waits out the night

because of this, it takes him forever to play the game

also gets kind of angrily excited when killing mobs

does that weird “ooo! ooo!” yelling thing that people do when they’re killing something in a game and get kind of nervous

110% moves his body when looking around in the game

You still have a ton of time to make yourself what you want. There’s still good in the world. Tell Dally, I don’t think he knows.
