so. maybe two years ago i wrote poems inspired by greek gods and deities. i was proud of them at the time, but looking back on them now i’m not too sure if i still like any of them, haha.
the whole premise was around a greek maiden who began forming relationships around these gods/deities. persephone’s was the first one i wrote, and at the moment it is the only one i still kinda like. the explanation here being the maiden realizes there is nothing to fear when death comes, there will always be love found. i figured i would share that today, because why not?🌻
i stated in one of my posts back in january that going forward i would be more secure in my writing and what i post. i said “if i feel the urge to write it, it must mean something” and i think that’s important for me to remember.
anyway, if you read this whole thing, thanks, haha. and maybe i’ll grow to like the rest of my greek poems so i can post the rest.🌻
hades and persephone truly make me lose my entire mind.
it’s like: i love you. i own you. i take you from your loving mother and do not ask your consent. you come to me fleeing of a suffocation and i offer pomegranate seeds and myself. your mother loves you enough to upend the world. i love you enough to withstand your mother. you know what the pomegranate means. you don’t. you are eternally young and a daughter and eternally queen of the dead. i love you. i am indifferent to you. i have followed the law. i have followed you. you can make me give a desperate singer a chance. you kill what i love and i keep you from the sun. ours is the happiest marriage. you are a prize so i took you.
in every version of this story, you are mine because I took you from a field. in every retelling of this myth you stay with someone you love for half of each year. in every language we have been stretched into it is you who causes winter.
Everyone in the camp is ready to fight for the right to go to bed next to you. Hugging your warm body in sleep and listening to your breath. They have fights every damn night. You're so tired of all of them. You just fall asleep, cuddling comfortably with the Owlbear and Scratch while the idiots quarrel
Some sketches to help with my Baldur’s Gate brainrot 👁️👁️ I drew Karlach and Astarion dancing because we all know Karlach’s got a boogie bone in her and when was the last time Astarion got to dance like no one was watching? Let the boy dance!!
