Hey there! Just wondering, with the world being on fire and all (quite literally in some places), what do you do to stay sane in it all? I've been re-reading Black Butler and am wondering what to fill the void with once i'm up to date again. What keeps you mentally refreshed? Loving the recent animations by the way!

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this! I keep drafting up replies that are like ‘uwu stay busy and occupy your mind’ and realising halfway through that being too busy is actually an unhealthy coping mechanism of mine and a major issue I need to address in my life. The short and true answer is that I’m not really coping! 

That sounds worse than it is. I’m fine! (sort of) But – like you said – the year started literally on fire for me and its been a rollercoaster since then. There’s been some great things in this year, and also a hell of a lot of bad. Honestly, the way I’m staying sane at this point is medication. I don't talk about this sort of thing often, especially not on here. For me, the Kuroshitsuji fandom is an escape from all that, so I try to keep this blog as positive as possible, but I’m realising its also important to talk about the struggles sometimes too. 

So really, this is what keeps me mentally refreshed! There’s something extremely freeing about just colouring manga panels in a dying fandom, because for me it’s the purest form of just doing stuff for myself. I always have a writing project going that I can retreat into when I need to, but there’s always the underlying pressure that my writing has to be good because one day I want it published. With colouring there’s none of that. If it isn’t good people scroll past it and that's the end of that. There’s literally no way to monetise it, so there’s no pressure to be good, I’m just indulging my creative side in a way that’s completely low commitment. 

I’m not sure if this really answers your question or if I’ve sort of lumped a lot of venting on you. This is sappier than I expected it would be but I just *clenches fist* love Kuroshitsuji. BUT if you do want something to read to fill the void when you’ve finished rereading Kuro then read the Johannes Cabal series. It’s got demons, necromancy, dark humour, an evil circus; it’s basically Kuroshitsuji with a himbo vampire tacked on the side. 10/10, do recommend.
