I'm really sorry about that person deadnaming you :( The "supports (blank) hate" shit is juvenile and embarrassing, but the lack of basic human respect in being transphobic and spreading your deadname is just really fucked and, like you said, reiterates that support/respect for us trans folks is conditional and can be withheld if we make 1 step outside of what people want from us. I hope you don't have to deal with this for much longer 🫂♥️

I don't savor having to address serious topics on this blog, as this place is a scrapbook of my time in the fandom and therefore more relaxed than my forward-facing accounts. However, I've recently been made aware of an issue that's been on-going all year, so I'm gonna quickly say my piece, then dive back into my WIP folder so I can have some cool shit to post for y'all during pride.

When you choose to deadname a trans person bc you don't personally like them, you're reinforcing the idea that respect and acceptance in relation to identity are conditional, rather than an implicit part of the human experience.

My name is Leigh. It's in the description of both my blogs, as well as their respective pinned posts. I came out as trans over two years ago, after which I publicly changed my name and the url of my page so it would reflect my new (correct and current) identity. You and your friends have been told twice this year by the ppl who saw your tags and informed me of what you were doing that your behavior was unacceptable, yet you refuse to correct it. I get that talking about the specific genre of music Ghost falls into requires a hefty dose of nuance, but there's a big difference between

"While Ghost is a massive fusion of different sounds from across the alternative spectrum, in most cases, they use metal as a base ingredient fairly effectively"

and

"I'm smarter than everyone in the fandom, including op, bc unlike y'all I know that Ghost isn't metal"

If I can get a little personal here for a second—I'm sorry I dropped off the map at the beginning of the year, and also that I failed to resurface again until now. I sorta hoped nobody would notice so I didn't cause worry, but unfortunately that's not how the internet works. Let's just say it was the best thing I could have done for my mental health at the time, and I'm in a much better place now.

I definitely didn't intend to stay gone forever—Ghost will always have a special place in my heart, and I still have plenty of ideas left that I'd like to draw / write about. Regardless, it means a lot to me to learn that my stuff had enough of an impact that you'd take the time to tell me so yourself—esp all these months later. I know most of the time I'm just like, the doofy fandom cartoon guy who's perpetually stuck in sillymode, but messages like this genuinely go such a long way 💕🫂
