I heard Tumblr is training AI on all its user data and uploads, which would include all artworks.

I'm not a popular artist, i don't make merchandise or run a store, this is a hobby for me. I work mostly off photographs, but still i am loathe to even passively contribute to such a disgusting waste of energy and resources for the next worthless trend in art and technology.

I work off my phone and laptop, both of which are backed up by google (and no doubt already scraped by their ai), so using glaze or nightshade would be too much work for me. Along with that, i am extremely wary of uploading my work to another program; who knows what they could do with it when they change their plans.

I'm so tired of social media anyway. My father passed back in January and being on any of these platforms anymore runs me ragged twice as fast now. I don't have the patience to enjoy what i used to; seeing other people talk about these things gets me frustrated, i think less usage in general would be good for me.

I heard artfol banned all ai content from their app. Who knows how long this will last, but there are no ads and no traffic, i can drop my shit and go. I'm kinda loving that.

I'd like to keep posting here, but i can't promise anything. I haven't been nearly as productive as i was, and honestly i don't have the passion to create right now.

Anyway, this is largely a note to myself, since i doubt anyone else would scroll this far, but whatevs

a mixed media piece i made way back when. 2009? 2010? have i been making art that long??? this was for a gallery show at PhilaMOCA in philadelphia, when they first started doing their Eraserhood Forever shows? I put a few pieces in over the years, but this one is special because the gallery bought it from me, and (while i dont know this for certain) i think they had it up on display when David Lynch dropped by.

This was a shadowbox i got from a thrift store, and i printed out the eraserhead baby and mounted it inside the shadowbox. (cant remember if i made it dimensional at all) I scrawled the Fresh Prince joke with a paint marker on the striped backer board.

i definitely lose and rediscover this file year after year after year

tooting my own horn here/brainstorming, i keep seeing pepsi brand guidelines posted on one of the design accounts i follow on threads (logo archive? cant remember right now) and i think it would be sick as fuck to get my hands on one of those and just decoupage a bunch of punk sketches in blue and red like these all over it and turn it into an upcycled fan book or something- or even if i had a bunch of pepsi print ads that i could work on top of. weird extra shit like that keeps me up at night

sketches and small drawings on paper, size ranging from 5x5 cm to an A4 sheet. various mediums. price ranging from $10 to $30 US.

disclaimer: much of my work is done on medium-low quality substrates (i don't like dropping entire paychecks on supplies, and i am no longer in school) or on found objects (like the window and plate). in addition, i often work on improperly primed or entirely unprimed substrates, or experiment with paint chemistry and the likes. as such, i can't really guarantee archivability. if any painting seems to me particularly fragile, i will disclose it and we can discuss what should be done with it.

i'm open to negotiation re: pricing and the like. feel free to contact me even if you can't afford it right now, and would like me to reserve a piece for a later date.
