What it must be like to be born into the mafia, family including your father and uncles, all high ranking Italian Mafia heads. “These families are old school” says former FBI informant charles longero speaking about today’s Mafia. “These are the kind of people who can make things happen just by snapping their fingers.” “Just because it’s 2020 doesn’t mean they are any less powerful then they were in the 80’s and 90’s.”

Musetti is one of the powerful names in the under world. One of the Musetti family members was/is a very close (behind the scenes) move maker for The Gambino Family. Today they are still in power.

Melissa heightman who visits one of the Mob owned business’s frequently says “they are the nicest people and do so much for the community, I don’t care if they are involved in the mob or not. I will always support them, they are very sweet people.”

Their history goes all the way back to Sicily and also Calabria where they still have lots of family and strong ties.

There is no doubt the Italian mafia is still alive in NY and NJ today.

But the old school mafia was not about being in the open. It was a quiet secret society. You wouldn’t know if your neighbor was involved or not. That’s how it went back to be. Cosa Nostra in Italian means “our thing”. It’s still here very strong and powerful just not out in the open. Todays Mafia are business people, store owners, restaurant owners, bakery owners and are 100% Italian with their family lineage coming from Italy.

Names like Gambino, Genovese, Musetti, Bonanno, Ruggerio, and Bastone among many others are Powerful to this very day.

Mr. Bastone whose father was a soldier for The Genovese Family has now took over in his fathers shoes. This is what happens when your born into the Mafia, many times you pick up where family left off. It is still a powerful organization and decisions are made everyday in secret meetings.

There is no stopping The Italian Mafia in America as it’s one of the most powerful and one of the oldest organizations in the world. You will hear people say “the mafia doesn’t exists anymore” or “they all died in jail” or you’ll even hear some of the old mobsters say on TV today the mafia doesn’t exsist. They say that because that’s what they want you to believe. They have made their deals to get out and they are sworn to secrecy. They know if they squeal it will be the end of their life.
