wow here i go again edmond dantes gankutsuou the one we all know full well decided to twist and create a new spirit origin for himself- the very one that enacted the peak of his revenge for the new Id chapter is because he would need far more strength and will to pull off what he had to do. he already has iron determination that far exceeds human will but its taken even further beyond what is preconceived limits for him...

he doesnt even have the self-modification skill that some Servants can use easily. so it really was no joke how painful and hard it must be to do the equivalent of escaping the confines of your flesh without damaging it and putting on a new one. he needed 'Le Comte de Monte Cristo' for Id chapter as it was necessary. that flame he carried when he was alive had burned strongest as he was one of the living. heroic spirits are ultimately shadows and so they cannot grow and are only stagnant, remaining to be at what their container dictates until strengthened by a grail as they're ultimately 'familiars'. his resolve had been at the strongest back then...and so it makes sense dantes would use that part of his life as fuel to feed the 'train of the future' as it carries his fate and star. "this can't be good for Senpai." "Is it because of your nature as Avengers?" he uses Le Comte to kill those three people just for guda and killing the loved ones of the one you care about must take immense willpower alone. and that doesnt even consider the fact that... he must have cared for them alone as well. he earnestly tells them that they have the right to never forgive him, the have the right for their own revenge and even calls kyrie: his daughter, sadly...... the scene is framed in a way that conveys his feelings of having a long pause, hesitant, but he opens his eyes with that fire of resolve and tells himself, ' i have to kill for that person's sake.' (even as he was slow to draw his blade, readying himself for the moment of striking them down. preparation. for his heart, not for the kill.)

its just so good to realize that the OST used in the story the part where cagliostro is getting beat up is the demonic sword kriemhild battle music... that was so good when i played it in traum.... like both are used in the themes of vengeance.... but there's also love... both the avengers and kriemhild fought for guda/her revenge on siegfried.... a song of which of those is righteous.....a song of determination and pain... a song of love and attachment...flames that burn as passionately as love.. ugh...
