So, there were people that asked for a part 2 of "People make mistakes"
And I wrote it, it was almost completed. I just couldn't figure out the ending.
I write the stories in my notes and not in the tumblr drafts because i was scared of accidentally deleting my stuff, since I've seen tumblr writers post about it.
But, As I was resetting/deleting apps because I ran out of phone storage, I managed to reset my notes, meaning the part 2 of "people make mistakes" was gone, along with 2 or 3 other prompts I've been working on. I never even backed my notes up HAHA
I will try to rewrite the part 2, and the others (one was a pepa x félix x reader one that I really liked 🥲) but I'll need time lol

We want that one (Julieta x Reader x Agustín) part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Y/N!!!”
You turned and smiled to see Mirabel running towards you. In the few months since you’d moved, you’d learned the pace of town life. And the Madrigals, the main family, had been very kind to you…perhaps a little too much.
But it was okay, you liked them and it was nice to see the love they had for each other. Also, and you weren’t going to say it out loud, but there was a certain couple you were becoming more and more attached to.
“Hello Mirabel” you smiled when the girl came up to you “Are you okay?”
“Yes” she answered agitated “but you have to come with me”
“Why, what happened?”
“bees”

People make mistakes
Dolores x reader
Summary(?): Basically Dolores being in love with Mariano while she was with you
*Not proof read
____________________________________________
Dolores watched as Mariano walked past, with Isabela's hand in his own. Isabela didn't look too happy, and neither did Dolores. She wondered how it would feel to hold his hand, or how fast her heart would beat if he'd ever look at her the way he does with Isabela. She'd listen to the songs he'd sing to Isabela, often imagining he was singing them to her instead.
And then you came along. You were just like Mariano, viewed as the perfect person because of your kindness and attractiveness. You met her through Isabela, giving her the occasional winks or flirts. Dolores would let you, often flirting back. She thought she'd finally be happy without Mariano the moment you mustered up your courage and asked her out.
Don't get me wrong, she was definitely happy with you at first, but as months passed by, she'd slowly start thinking about him again. Mariano would still be in her dreams, and every poem would remind her of him.
You knew ofcourse, and you were pretty sure the whole village knew about Dolores' having feelings for Mariano. You saw how she would look longingly at him, or how unhappy she'd become if she sees Mariano and Isabela together. You tried not to care, you'd remind yourself that she was with you and not him. But your jealousy slowly got the best of you.
Why wouldn't she look at you the way she did with Mariano?
You'd try to ignore the looks of pity the villagers would give you if you would walk with Dolores. Heck, even the rest of the Madrigals would look at you sadly everytime you'd go to casita to fetch Dolores for a date.
Now, Dolores was okay with public affection, as long as it wasn't anything too inappropriate. The occasional quick kisses or long hugs were fine, but as time went on, the most she'd do with you was to only hold your hand.
You tried not to care, you tried your best to be optimistic and understanding, ignoring the way your heart would ache or how your eyes would water at the thought of her falling out of love with you.
Was she even in love with you in the first place? Or were you just a distraction? You weren't sure.
The last straw was when she called you Mariano by accident. Sure, accidentally calling someone by another name was no big deal right?
Well, not if it kept happening.
"Maria- y/n, could you please help me?"
"Your voice is too loud Mar- y/n"
"Mari- y/n, do you want to walk with me?"
"I love you, Marian- y/n"
Now that, was the last straw. You didn't even bother looking at her as you stormed out of her room, ignoring her pleads and cries. You ignored every Madrigal as you went straight out the door.
The Madrigals were confused, you and Dolores never fought. They went and asked her about what happened, ready to pay you a visit if it you were the reason she was crying.
However, they could only look at each other in pity once they heard that Dolores kept saying Mariano's name instead of yours. They couldn't blame you for storming out, they would've done the same thing.
You hadn't left your house in weeks, not even bothering to open the door when Dolores would go to you and ask for forgiveness, not caring if there were people around.
Gossip was fast in Encanto, so they already knew why. And eventually, Dolores stopped coming.
Your family tried their best to make you happy, not pushing you to go outside, by cooking you your favorite meals and by telling you of gossip they had heard.
They tell you how Isabela broke Mariano's nose, how the proposal didn't go well or how Julieta's youngest daughter was rumoured to destroy the miracle. You had nothing else to do, so you just listened.
The only time you left your house was when your brother informed you that casita fell apart. You weren't ready to face Dolores, but you wanted to help rebuild the casita because the thought of the Madrigals having no home saddened you.
You accompanied the villagers in bringing building supplies to the Madrigals, and the first thing you noticed was Mariano's arm around... Dolores?
It didn't take long to hear from the villagers as you worked together to rebuild the house. Apparently Isabela never wanted to marry Mariano, and Dolores took this as her chance to talk to him.
It went surprisingly well. Wait, weren't you two together?
You asked Dolores if you could talk to her alone, ignoring the look of surprise on her face once she realized you were there.
Once you were alone with Dolores she begged for forgiveness and apologized for not being serious with whatever you thought you had with her. You were unsure if it was even worthy enough to be called a relationship, as neither of you have even labeled it yet.
You wanted to stop seeing Dolores cry, so you let her go.
Her smile was wider when her arm would be around Mariano's, her eyes would shine brighter everytime Mariano would recite one of his poems to her. She was happy with him.
But ofcourse, this meant you had to move on. As long as she was happy, you were happy, right?

“If you want to burn me alive you could just throw me in the fire. It would be faster” you joked
Pepa jumped a little at your voice and blinked rapidly. Did you catch her?! Did you know what kind of thoughts she was having?! But then she saw you fan yourself with your hand and then she understood that you meant the hot environment that her powers were creating.
“I’m sorry” she said quickly, trying to calm down.

Stupid decisions
Mirabel x reader
Summary (?): You are Mirabel's best friend and you stay with her when the house falls apart.
Note: If you want to view this as romantic, I would like to remind you that Mirabel is 15, so if you aren't a minor, please just view this platonic because it would be kind of weird. Thank you :))
(Not proof read, and I just kept typing what came next to mind so apologies if it makes no sense)
Also, I got my first 11 followers! It may not seem alot to others but it's alot to me :)) Thank you and ily <3
____________________________________________
You were in town when you bumped into abuela, apologizing profusely before she waved it off and asked you to accompany her to Señora Guzman's home. You promised Mirabel you would be at the casita at this time but you were used to following abuela's command so you followed abuela.
While walking with her she would often comment something about you. "Don't slouch", "Smile more", "keep your head up", "White would suit you more" she would say, and because you were afraid of disappointing her, you would nod and take her every remark to heart. This wasn't the first time she'd tell you how to act or walk or look, she was already like this to you as a child, almost months after you befriended Mirabel the night she wasn't given a gift.
As you grew up, people saw that when Isabela wasn't by Alma's side, you would take her place. And because of this, people were already referring to you as the second Isabela, even if you weren't a part of the family. The only times where you would throw all of Alma's criticism out the window was when you were with Mirabel, the only person who's ever seen you act like yourself, and not like a copy of Isabela without a gift.
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are we going to Señora Guzman?" You asked her as politely as you could sound, just like she told you to.
"I want to apologize to her and her grandchild, Mariano, who had his nose broken during dinner at the casita. I'm sure you've heard of the event" she answered, looking straight ahead.
You did hear about the event, and the vision of Mirabel supposedly destroying the miracle. You didn't believe that though. Maybe the vision was interpreted wrong?
And as for Mariano, you weren't close with Isabela or the big hunk but you could tell Isabela didn't want to marry him. You were honestly surprised that no one else could see that. But Mariano was a good guy, and you did feel a little sorry for him once you heard the news of Isabela 'accidentally' breaking his nose.
Your thoughts were stopped once you and Alma finally reached the Guzman's house, with Señora Guzman and Mariano right outside of it. Abuela left your side and immediately started apologizing to them, with you awkwardly standing a few feet away. While the three of them were talking, you would smile or wave at the passerbys.
Suddenly, hundreds of exotic and unusual plants spawned everywhere, startling the villagers including yourself and Abuela.
Abuela looked at the trail of plants that seemed to be coming from casita, and saw two people dancing on the roof of the house.
Was that.. Isabela and Mirabel?
You followed abuela's gaze and saw them too, immediately taking off once you realized that the plants were coming from Isabela.
Abuela started to follow you to the casita, but not before hearing a scream behind her. She turned around, and saw Mariano clutching his nose again with a pained expression on his face. Poor boy.
You were younger and faster than Alma, making you arrive there first. The first thing you saw once you entered was Isabela and Mirabel laying on a pile of flowers, laughing and joking with each other. The sight was odd, since they usually hated each other, but it made you smile nonetheless.
Mirabel was the first one to notice you, a big smile on her face as she stood up and dusted the flowers off her dress.
"Y/n! I saved the miracle! Can you believe it?!" She asked excitedly, jumping to you for a hug, you happily returned the hug although you didn't know what she was talking about, with Isabela watching the interaction.
The two of you stayed like that for a while until a voice broke you two apart.
"What is going on?!"
"Abuela! It's okay, everything's- we're gonna save the miracle! The magic!" Mirabel happily stumbles over her words
"What are you talking about? Look at our home! Look at your sister! Look at y/n!" Abuela cried, and you noticed that the pile of flowers that Isabela and Mirabel were laying on were slowly disappearing.
"Please just," Mirabel begged, hoping to be able to explain her side "Isabela wasn't happy and-"
Abuela interrupted Mirabel "Ofcourse she's not happy, you ruined her proposal!"
"No no no, she needed me to ruin her proposal and then we did all this" Mirabel tried to explain, gesturing at the flowers on the rooftop before continuing "and then the candle burned brighter! And the cracks, that's why I was in the vision! I'm saving the miracle!" Mirabel rambled on but abuela was having none of it
"YOU HAVE TO STOP MIRABEL" Abuela screamed at her, silencing Mirabel. Abuela took a deep breath before continuing.
"The cracks started with you"
"Bruno left because of you."
"Luisa's losing her powers, Isabela's out of control because. Of. You."
You and Isabela looked at each other, both of you looking like you wanted to say something to Abuela, but you were both afraid.
"I don't know why you weren't given a gift but that is not an excuse for you to hurt this family!" Abuela shouted at Mirabel, shocking her family who came to see what was going on.
Mirabel looked miserable. You wanted to step forward and hug her. Maybe even smack Alma into loving her grandchild. You took a step towards her but Mirabel looked at you and shook her head before looking back at abuela.
"I will never be good enough for you, will I?" Mirabel asked, her voice cracking as she said those words. "No matter how hard I try"
"No matter how hard ANY of us tries" she corrects herself
"Luisa will never be strong enough, Isabela won't be perfect enough! Y/n isn't even a part of the Madrigals yet you try to make her just as perfect as Isabela!" Mirabel's voice started building up into a shout
"Don't you dare bring y/n into family business. She's not the one destroying the miracle!" Abuela argued but Mirabel ignored her and continued
"Bruno left this family because you only saw the worst in him."
"Bruno didn't care about this family" Alma argued and you saw how hurt Julieta and Pepa looked.
"Bruno loves this family. I love this family. We all love this family. You're the one that doesn't care. You're the one breaking our home" she continued and the house started shaking more and more. But you didn't care, you were so proud of her for finally standing up to her abuela.
Mirabel looked her abuela in the eyes, not caring about anything anymore.
"The miracle is dying because of you." She finished, and you saw the look of hurt that flashed across Alma's face.
But at those final words, the house started falling apart. Everyone's first thought was the candle. They looked at where it was, which was on abuela's window and saw that it was threatening to fall over.
"Casita! Get me up there" Mirabel shouted and started running towards the window, with Isabela and Camilo behind her.
You had a feeling they were trying to get Mirabel, and not the candle. You watched in horror as the vine Isabela was swinging on disappeared and how Camilo shape shifted back into his original self before falling, both being saved by Casita.
Casita's floors were like waves, continuously pushing everyone out of the house, you included. The push was so strong that everybody landed on their back once they were outside. And boy did it hurt.
You were in pain but the sounds of the house falling apart made you remember Mirabel.
"MIRABEL!" You shouted, having no second thoughts as you ran back into the falling house, ignoring the warnings and shouts of the others to not go back in there
When you entered once more, you saw Mirabel struggling to reach for the candle, only for casita to help her by raising the platform she was on. She grabbed the candle but lost her footing, making her fall down.
You were quick to catch her and try to carry her to the exit, but it was blocked. You looked to your left and saw a giant chunk of the house leaning towards you, on the verge of falling.
Before you could move away, the giant chunk already started falling in you, and as if it was in slow motion, you saw almost every piece of furniture move towards you and stack themselves on top of you to serve as a cover for you and Mirabel. You and Mirabel closed your eyes and hoped you both won't die.
When you opened your eyes, the furniture fell, and never responded when you called for it. "Casita?" Mirabel called but she also received no answer. She looked down on her hand and saw that the candle no longer had it's fire. So this was it then?
She looked at you and saw that you were already looking at her.
"You're an idiot who makes stupid decisions" she mumbled tiredly before resting her head on your shoulder.
"I learn from the best" You reply and smile at her, both of you ignoring everyone's panicked calls for the both you.
The candle, or what was left of it, was still in Mirabel's hand. She was too tired about anything to care.

Black & White (Julieta x reader)

“Come back here!!!”
You jumped as thunder rumbled over your head and turned just in time to see the youngest of the Madrigal triplets run towards you. Usually, you didn’t mind getting caught in the middle of their fights, but you had been working on this song for days and if Pepa’s rain messed up your notebook, there was going to be trouble.
However, when you noticed Bruno’s worried look you felt your heart pity him. You just couldn’t give him up! So you quickly closed your notebook and stood up, offering the boy a safe spot between you and the tree where you had been leaning.

I don’t know if this is old news already, but I saw someone on twitter pointing out that in this scene
Tumblr media
it looks like Dolores knocks against the wall to signal Bruno that dinner is ready, and it could be true?
When she puts the plates down, she seems to look around as if to make sure the others aren’t paying attention to her (unlike her family, who just happily sings along).
Tumblr media
Then she whirls around and seemingly knocks on the wall, only to lower her hand inconspicuously close to her body.
Tumblr media
It might be a reach but it would be really, really sweet if she is actually doing this for Bruno, so I want to believe it was intentional :)

An odd introduction
Dolores Madrigal x reader
Summary (?): You are a tailor in Encanto and Dolores goes to your shop almost every day, rising her mother's suspicion so she follows her daughter one day and finds out about you
I also actually like this one lol
-------------------------------------------------------
"Dolores, aren't you going to eat that?" Camilo asks, eyeing the quesadillas that were left untouched by Dolores. Dolores rolls her eyes before passing her plate over to Camilo's side of the table, the boy happily accepting the quesadillas as he munches down on them.
"Dolores, mija, you haven't eaten anything again. Are you alright?" Pepa asks her daughter worriedly
"It's fine mama, I'm not hungry" Dolores assures her mother, glancing at the clock. Her family found her behavior odd, but they pretended not to notice.
Once the family finished their meals, Dolores was the first one out the door. This ofcourse, did not go unnoticed by her family.
"She claims she wasn't starving but her stomach said otherwise. I could hear it grumbling. And I didn't even need her super hearing." Mirabel points out while watching her cousin walk away. Her words made Pepa even more worried for her daughter, a small cloud forming above her head.
"She hasn't eaten her food for days" Antonio noticed, also concerned for his big sister. And although Camilo enjoyed eating seconds, he was also worried about her.
"Do you think something's wrong?" Pepa asked Félix.
"I'm honestly not sure mi amor, but I'm sure she'll tell us whatever is going on. We just need to give her some time" Félix comforts her, one hand rubbing her shoulder with the other trying to shoo the cloud away.
Pepa seemed to calm down at his words. Or so he thought, because as soon as he finished shooing the cloud away, Pepa turned to him with a determined look. "I think we should follow her"
Félix widened his eyes "Mi amor, I don't think we should-" but before he could finish, Pepa had already grabbed his hand and walked towards the exit of casita, dragging him with her. The town was small, so she was sure she could find her daughter in no time.
Meanwhile, Dolores was still walking to her destination, occasionally exchanging greetings with other villagers that she would pass by. She stopped at the door of a tailor shop, just in the middle of the village. The windows were covered and the door had a sign that said 'Sorry, we're closed' but that didn't stop Dolores from knocking. Soon enough, the door was opened.
"I was starting to think you wouldn't come today" You told her, a small smile gracing your lips when she kissed your cheek. "Nonsense mi vida, I would never miss an opportunity to spend time with you" she answered as you stepped aside, allowing her to enter the shop.
Just a few houses away, Pepa was talking to every person she saw. "Señor Cruz, Have you seen my daughter?" Pepa asked, still gripping her husband's hand. Apparently, finding Dolores wasn't easy as it sounded so she had to resort to asking the villagers of her whereabouts. No one seemed to know, until she bumped into Señor Cruz.
"Dolores? She always goes to the Tailor's shop at this time, even if it's closed." Señor Cruz responded, having known this because he lives infront of the Tailor shop and sometimes sees you open the door for her.
Félix and Pepa looked at each other, both confused. Their daughter already had nice dresses. Did she not like the designs on her dress?
They asked where and which Tailor shop Dolores went to and Señor Cruz pointed to the direction of your shop. Pepa quickly thanked Señor Cruz and headed off, her husband right behind her.
Back in the shop, Dolores sat on the counter, waiting for you to sit beside her. "So, what delicious delicacy did you make today?" She asked excitedly
You sat beside her on the counter and smiled at her. "We'll be having arepas" You told her, handing her a basket with a few of them. The scent of the delicacy wafting in the air.
Ofcourse, Dolores loved her tia Julieta's cooking, but she loved eating with you and seeing you smile everytime she'd compliment your food. Sure, she had to skip her meals at the Casita to be able to eat with you, but it was worth it.
She took one from the Basket, enjoyed the scent for a few seconds and glanced at you. You were looking at her anxiously, wondering if she would like it or not.
She finally took a bite and wow, it was delicious. She might even dare to say it was better than her Tia's version of it. She took another bite and moaned loudly at the taste. She didn't seem to notice the sound she had made, but you had, and you blushed at it.
Unfortunately, you weren't the only one who heard her subconsciously moan. She was to immersed in the food to hear anything.
Pepa and Félix were at your door the exact moment their daughter had made that sound. And the next thing you knew, a loud bang startled both you and Dolores, and your door was now laying on the floor. Across the room, was a very, very angry Pepa.
Pepa didn't waste any time and marched over to you, pulled you off the counter and lifted you up by your collar, a rain cloud above her with lighting striking random places in your shop.
"Mama!" Dolores squeaked and dropped her arepa, afraid that her mother might hurt you. And trust me, if it weren't for Félix frantically trying to calm her down, you would've definitely been electrocuted by now.
"What. Were. You. Doing. With. My. Daughter." Pepa asked you slowly, a murderous glint in her eyes.
"Nothing Señorita! She was just eating food I made- my arepas!" You stumbled over your words, pointing at the basket on the floor, with arepas now spilling out of it. However, Pepa didn't seem to believe you.
Félix did seem to believe you atleast. He looked at his daughter for confirmation and she nodded vigorously, her eyes filled with terror. Félix sighed, knowing his daughter was no liar.
"Pepa, amor, calm down. They're telling the truth" Félix told her while looking at you. Pepa still didn't let go of you. "Pepa, do you really think our daughter would do something like this?" He asked her, and Pepa hesitated to answer. Instead, she turned to you.
"Why does Dolores come here almost every time?" Pepa asked you, her grip on your collar slightly loosening.
"She...comes to visit me. She also tries the food I cook or bake." You answer her, a blush forming on your cheeks.
Félix notices your blush and puts two and two together of why Dolores won't eat at the Casita and why Señor Cruz told them Dolores comes here almost everytime. He whispers something to Pepa and Pepa's eyes widen.
"What is Dolores to you?" Félix asks you, and Pepa looked at you expectantly.
"Dolores... she's my everything. We've just started dating a few weeks ago. So I've been wanting to take it slow, especially since mi amante's family are the Madrigals" You explain shyly, Dolores blushing at your explanation and the name you called her.
Pepa seemed to process your words and finally let you go, making you drop to the floor. You were honestly surprised of how strong she was. Dolores instantly went to your side and asked if you were okay.
Pepa and Dolores made eye contact, and all Pepa did was nod and leave, with Félix left behind. He looked at the two of you and then his wife's retreating figure for a while before finally walking over to Dolores.
"You know, Instead of coming here every meal time to eat with y/n, you could invite them to eat with us instead" Félix told his daughter and winked, before heading out to catch up with his wife.
Dolores and you looked at each other, both shocked at the invitation. You? Having a meal with the Madrigals?
You looked around your shop and realized the shop was a mess. There were strips of burnt cloth on the floor from the lighting and tools like scissors or measuring tape scattered everywhere. Your arepas were on the floor, and so was your door. You didn't mind though, you were too happy about the thought of meeting the family of the woman you wanted to marry in the future. Although she doesn't need to know that yet.
As for Dolores, she knew she would bring you to meet them sometime.
(But maybe after she helps you fix the shop.)

You paced back and forth while whispering to yourself and unconsciously tugging on your braid. From the moment you woke up you knew it was going to be a difficult day, but you didn’t expect this to happen.
You were having your baby.
Well, technically, your wife was having your baby, but that just made you even more nervous. You had been married to Julieta for almost five years and had known her since she was 13, you knew that she was a strong woman and that everything will be fine. But you shouldn’t even be in this situation.

Please, stay
Dolores x reader, Isabela x reader
Note (?): This is before casita fell apart. Also, I'm not happy on how I wrote this so I might fix it sooner or later lol
____________________________________________
It was just another early morning where the Madrigals were having breakfast, chatting amongst themselves while enjoying the little time they had left before they were off to help the people of the village.
"Dolores" Alma called out, waiting for Dolores to look at her. "Is there anything we should know about the village today?" She asked
Everyone kept quiet, so it would be easier for Dolores to hear.
"Senor Osvaldo's donkeys got out again" She informed, hearing a small groan from Luisa
"And Jóse fell off his horse and hurt his wrist" she continued. Julieta nodded and stood up, walking to the kitchen to prepare her arepas.
"Oh and Mariano's cousin is coming to visit him" She finished. Everyone was surprised at this, since there were very few people who knew the place of this village, let alone come visit it.
"And did they say a name?" Mirabel asked, excited to see a new face around. Dolores shook her head, crushing Mirabel's spirit alittle.
"But, she's coming tomorrow, and Mariano and his family are planning to invite us to her welcome party"
When the Madrigals arrived the Guzman's house for the party, it was already filled with people, all curious to see the new face Mariano's been talking about. And by their logic, since you were related to Mariano, you would be just as attractive.
"Alma! It's good to see you and your family here" Señora Guzman greeted them each with a hug. "It's pleasure to be here señora" Isabela said politely.
Each of the Madrigals parted ways to do their own thing, with Isabela and Alma left with Señora Guzman.
"Isabela, looking as perfect as ever I see, I'm sure you're looking for Mariano, but he went to fetch his cousin" Señora Guzman winked at her, and Isabela just gave her a weak smile.
Alma and Señora Guzman started chatting away with Isabela just by her abuela's side, smiling at the guests from time to time.
While everyone was chattering, Dolores heard a knock at the door and went to go open it, revealing you right at the door, with Mariano behind you.
"Hello" Dolores squeaked shyly and you waved at her, you noticed her blush and honestly thought she was blushing at you. But she was blushing at Mariano.
She smiled at the both of you then scampered away before Mariano or the person could smile back. Mariano looked at you and shrugged.
Señora Guzman immediately noticed Mariano and his cousin. "Everyone!" She announced, making the whole room go quiet. "This is y/n Guzman, Mariano's cousin and my grandchild, please make her feel welcome!" She finished, beckoning you and Mariano to come to her
Everyone's eyes were on you, including Isabela's. You were quite attractive indeed. Even Mariano knew you would have a few suitors not even a week after your visit.
"Señora Alma, this is Y/n" Mariano introduced. You smiled at her and Isabela couldn't help but think that your smile was so pretty
Señora Guzman nodded at you and Isabela. "We'll leave you two to get acquainted. The three of us have something to discuss" she told Isabela and she knew that they were going to discuss about Mariano's marriage proposal.
Once they left you two alone, it was painfully quiet.
"So, you must be Isabelle" you said, hand reached out for a handshake. All Isabela did was look at your hand. "Isabela" she corrected. You didn't mind her correction at all. "Okay then, Isa"
You've only just met her a few minutes ago and you're already giving her nicknames?
"Only my friends call me Isa" She said coldly, you ignored her tone and looked around. "And where are your 'friends' now?" You asked her.
"Somewhere." She answered curtly. "Well I'm here, so now I'm your friend. Atleast until I go back home" you shrugged, and Isabela didn't know whether to be annoyed or amused
"I actually have to enjoy your company to consider you a friend"
You were silent for a few seconds and Isabela took that as her sign to leave. But before she could step away, you grabbed her wrist making her stop and look at you.
You both looked into each other's eyes for a moment before-
"Did you know you could drink the insides of a cactus?" You told her out of the blue
Startled at your randomness, she just raised her eyebrow at you. "What?"
"Did you know you could drink the insides of a cactus?" You repeated slowly, as if she was a toddler that couldn't understand. "I mean it's not safe to drink but you can drink it anyways" You continued.
Isabela let out a small giggle at that.
Her giggle did not go unnoticed by you. "See? You seem to be enjoying my company after all" you tell her smugly. Isabela just rolled her eyes and smiled. "Okay, maybe you aren't so bad"
You let out a dramatic gasp "Me? Bad? I am insulted" you cried out, earning a few strange looks from the other villagers. You didn't seem to mind, and neither did Isabela.
Over a few weeks have passed and alot has happened, Isabela revealed she didn't want to marry Mariano, everyone lost their gifts for awhile and the casita fell apart. You stayed by Isabela through all that though. You became her best friend. But it wasn't just her that liked you, even the madrigals were enjoying your company. You would tell Mirabel about your life in the city, you would help Antonio feed the animals, you would help Camilo with his pranks and you would tell Isabela about your knowledge on plants.
Well, you didn't know much about plants, so when you would run out of facts Isabela would start telling you about the things she knows about them. And you would listen. Isabela wanted to deny it, but she started liking you. More than a friend.
Today was like that, where you would be sitting under a tree listening to Isabela tell you about plants, her head resting on your shoulder. But what she didn't know was that while you were trying to listen to her every word, you were also watching Dolores talking to Antonio from afar. Now you weren't as close to her like you were with Isabela, but you started to feel something for her. I mean, you two had your moments from time to time, and you thought she blushed at you almost eveytime you were with Mariano.
But you didn't know that she already confessed to Mariano during the rebuilding of casita.
Isabela finally noticed that you weren't paying attention, and snapped her fingers infront of your face. Finally snapping back into reality, you looked at her sheepishly.
She would normally get annoyed at people who didn't pay any attention to her talking, but she couldn't get mad at you, no matter how hard she tried.
Isabela looked at you before sighing. "Anyway, I overheard Mariano talking about taking you back to the city" she said, trying to sound unbothered. But truthfully, she didn't want you to leave.
You looked at her confused "You didn't know?" Isabela furrowed her eyebrows "Know what?" she asked.
"I came to visit my cousin," you started but she didn't let you finish. "Yes I know about that" she interrupted. You spoke over her, telling her the truth. "-To see if I would like to live in the village with him." You told her nonchalantly, before spacing out again.
You didn't notice how Isabela's eyes widened in excitement, or how her smile got brighter, you weren't paying attention to her. You were looking at Dolores and Mariano talking.
"Well, are you staying?" Isabela asked nervously, although she was sure she had nothing to be nervous about, you seemed to like it here.
You turned to her, you wanted to say yes, and honestly you were about to, until you saw Mariano walk by, holding Dolores' hand. Oh.
You watched as your cousin and Dolores smiled at each other, both of them looking completely, utterly in love.
"Don't get me wrong Isa, I really do like it here. It's fun and interesting and everybody's so nice" you told her, making Isabela smile
Her smile instantly dropped once you said your next words.
"But I think I'd be better off back in the city"

Finding a puzzle piece
Dolores Madrigal x reader
Summary (?): Camilo puts other pieces together while doing puzzles with y/n
(Y/n is 19)
____________________________________________
"Camilo, that piece doesn't belong there" You pointed out, after having to watch him try to fit the puzzle piece in the same spot for what felt like hours.
Camilo ignored you, putting the puzzle piece down again anyway. "It's in the right spot, I just don't know in which position"
"It won't fit because it goes in the the other spot Camilo" You told him, pointing at the other remaining empty puzzle spot.
"It looks like it's in the right spot" Camilo argued, a glare sent your way. Sure, he was your best friend and all, but when it comes to puzzles you two would act like Mirabel and her sister Isabela. (Well, before casita fell apart atleast)
"Dios mío give me that" You scowl and grab the puzzle piece before placing it in the other spot, the piece connecting perfectly with the others.
Atleast Camilo had the decency to look embarrassed. "It's not my fault this puzzle is confusing" he mumbled. You scoffed but chose to Ignore his remark
You clapped your hands together, happy that there was only one more empty puzzle spot left. "Alright, now where's the last piece?" You asked, your hand held out to him expecting for the piece to be given to you
Camilo looked at the puzzle box beside him, and saw that it was, well, empty. "Its not here."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT THERE?!" You kneel over the puzzle infront of Camilo and try to reach the box across you, but Camilo grabbed it faster since it was just right beside him.
"It's empty" Camilo answers again, shaking the box upside down to prove his point. You still didn't believe him. "I swear to god I'm going to murder you if you're hiding the last piece-"
"I'm not! It's really gone, see?" He exclaims as he shows his empty pockets. Finally believing him, you go sit back down. "Impossible, the pieces were complete last I checked" you mumbled.
Camilo shrugged. "Maybe it fell out of the box"
You shook your head. "I always check if I leave puzzle pieces on the ground so that's not possible". "Well who used the puzzle other than you?" He asked sarcastically, knowing you didn't really like others borrowing your things
"Just me, duh" You replied before finally remembering something, or someone. "oh Dolores used it too"
Camilo raised a brow. He didn't care that you let his sister borrow it, he was more surprised at the fact you let someone borrow it. "Are you sure?" He asked.
"Positive. So, it must've fallen out of the box when Dolores finished the puzzle" you explained. Camilo nodded his head and looked at the puzzle, before finally processing your words. He turned his head facing back at you in what you could've sworn was a millisecond.
"Wait, since when did my sister do puzzles?"
"She does them all the time, she finishes it faster than you do atleast" you joke, but Camilo looks at you unimpressed. "I don't believe you one bit" He tells you, crossing his arms.
"Well you should, she has a strategy" you explain. Camilo kept quiet but still looked at you weird, which you took as a sign to keep explaining. "She borrows the puzzle from me, separates the corners and the middle pieces and then she just goes off from there" you shrug, not knowing why it was such a big deal.
"Okay, first off, I've never seen her do puzzles and second, how would you know her strategy?"
"Okay first off," You mimick, making your impression of Camilo's voice sound horrible on purpose. "She does the puzzles in her room because you'd come and annoy her if she does it out here"
Camilo nodded at that reason since he knew that he would've definitely annoyed her if she did do puzzles out in the open.
"And for your second question, I watch her putting the puzzle together" you finish
"So you watch her do puzzles in her room, okay" Camilo repeated slowly before finally realizing something. "Wait since when have you been in her room?!"
Realizing what you let slip out, you tried acting confused. "Uhh what do you mean-"
Camilo didn't let you finish and started rambling. "I'm pretty sure you've never been in the casita, and my family has only heard of who you are since you've never met them yet! So, how have you been in her room?!"
"It's not illegal to be in my best friend's sister's room is it?" You chuckle awkwardly, replacing it with small fake coughs once you noticed he was actually serious.
"To me, yes it is! How do you even get in without us noticing?!" He asked in disbelief
You rolled your eyes as if the answer was obvious. "I'm older than you, so I've known Casita longer than you have. Casita helps me out"
"Why do you need to sneak in her room anyway?" Camilo asked, and you were sure he already figured out the answer, he just wanted to hear it from you. I mean, why else would you be sneaking into Dolores' room anyway?
For all the times he used his brain cells, he really used it now?!
"Because... We're in a secret relationship?" You tell him uncomfortably. And that was all it took for Camilo. "Why didn't you tell me you were dating my sister?!" He shouts, and you couldn't tell if he was mad, shocked or maybe just annoyed he never found out.
Before you could answer, someone behind you answered first.
"Because it's called a 'secret relationship' for a reason" Dolores explained, stepping beside you to reach for your hand. You give her a quick thankful smile, which she returns. Dolores uses her free hand to grab something from her dress pocket and turns to Camilo. "Also, here" She says as she tosses the last puzzle piece to him. "I would also appreciate it if you two kept your voices down, I can hear you from the kitchen" She mentions to the both of you
"That's because super hearing is your gift mí amor" you joke, earning an eye roll from Dolores.
Dolores was about to retort but she noticed there was no one infront of her anymore. "Wait where's Camilo?"
You looked around and saw a figure of someone running away. It looked like... Jóse?
"He's probably on his way to tell your family about us" You tell her nonchalantly, too focused on the running 'Jóse' to notice her eyes widening at your words. "OH MY GOD HE'S ON HIS WAY TO TELL MY FAMILY ABOUT US" Dolores shouts, before taking off to catch Camilo before it's too late, with you running right behind her.
The last puzzle piece and the puzzle itself was on the ground, long forgotten.
