Never use Surfshark VPN

I just wanted to make this post to warn yall about it, I am not a tech genius but I wanted to get a vpn and surfshark was one I knew about so i subscribed to them because it seemed ok, that was where I fucked up.

fast forward a year and now I am trying to cancel my yearly auto-renewing subscription which costs 70 fuckin bucks, didnt find much use in surfshark as it was too laggy when using its vpn services so i go to billing and try to cancel.

there was no cancel button so that was odd, and you cant turn off auto-renew so i figure ill just get rid of my card info so it cant charge me.

i cant or at least i cant figure out how.

I go to help and find the cancellation area after scrolling past why you should keep the subscription and it tells me to contact their live support to cancel, It requires my name and gmail, I know for a fact my gmail is correct but it says its wrong and that my name is wrong no matter how many ways I enter it and I cant find a possible username anywhere on the site i could use. Its for all practical reasons impossible for me to cancel, not just the fact I cant even talk to customer support, but the people on reddit that do, talk to a bot and then the agents take months to actually turn off the subscription so it charges again and there is no refunds.

Love how defensive the dimension20 crew are of their boundaries. Last week Siobhan made some error (I forget what it was) and she just told the camera that anyone who tries to give her shit about it will be blocked immediately on all social media. Murph says the Honor the Cock thing and the crew spends a good 5 minutes of Adventuring Party riffing about how random strangers shouldn't walk up and tease him about it. These people have experienced being a public figure having to weather through months or years of thousands of oh-so-hilarious people beating a stupid running joke into the ground and it shows. They know how to build the boundaries they need to fucking survive.

I hate Star Wars fans because the sequel trilogy came so close to actually saying something meaningful and relevant in spite of itself, only for everyone to pitch an absolute bitch-fit over it, and ever since then it's been the most hollow pandering series finale ever and a cavalcade of shitty fanservice shows. Being a young adult is so strange. You enter a coffee shop. The 20 year old girl waiting behind you cried all night because she just came to a new city for university and she feels so alone. That 27 year old guy over there works a job he is overqualified for, he lives with his parents and wants to move out but doesn't know what to do about it. That one 24 year old dude already has a car, a house, and a job waiting for him once he graduates thanks to his dad's connections. The 26 year old barista couldn't complete his higher education because he has to work and take care of his family. The 28 year old girl sitting next to you has no friends to go out with so she is texting her mother. That couple (both 25 years old) are married and the girl is pregnant. The 29 year old writing something on her laptop has realized that she chose the wrong major so she is trying to start all over. We are not alone in this, but we are actually so alone. Do you feel me

Why did it take me this long to realize that since my new job is 5 minutes away from my old best friends’ mom’s house it would be so funny if I befriended her mom without telling my friend. For context this friend has been like a (replacement) daughter (I get replaced a lot)(I’m not insecure about it) to MY transphobic mom the whole time. I had to stop talking to my mom for my stupid mental health but I told my friend she could do whatever she wanted. Fast forward 2ish years and this friend has basically ghosted me since I came out. She doesn’t even know I moved again and got a new job in her old hometown, because she never answers my calls and her text response rate is 6 months to a year.

Pretty sure I still have her mom’s number. I know I have her address saved from that time we visited, like 10 years ago. Poetic irony aside I really should reach out. That lady is cool.
