Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Cancer
The Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Cancer will be on June 21st, 2020 and it wants you to make some new changes before Saturn returns to the sign of Capricorn on July 1st, 2020. Cancer Season will be filled with a need to work through things we have neglected. Mercury is already in the sign, making us become more emotionally intelligent and with the Sun and Moon also there, it is time for us to truly analyze how much healing and work we need to do in order to progress. 2020 has already proved to be different and with the change happening, we too need to adapt. For now, we should all practice some self-care in light of everything that is going on in the world. Cancer Season is here for healing, changes and most importantly, empowerment through emotional restoration.
Aries – This New Moon in Cancer will bring out the best sides of you. Abandoning those selfish notions will have you focusing on matters that encourage your growth. It will be a relaxing period where your focus shifts to those things that are connected to home. This is a good break before Saturn returns to Capricorn later in the month. For now, keep your energies high and try to promote some inner peace within yourself because it will be reflected in the home front.
Taurus – Get ready to experience a burst of inspiration that will help you plan for the next months to come. It is a beneficial energy for those creatives since it is a change in the way that you will express your artistry. This is also an easier time for you to express your emotions and to put it all out there without fear or doubt. Emotional intelligence is key and with Mercury also in the same sign, you will be more willing to work on yourself and betterment.
Gemini – With this transit, you will be focusing more on bringing security to your world since the Sun has finally moved out of your sign. Now will be the beginning of a cycle where you get motivated to bring more fruitful things into your life. It can be a “treat yourself” moment as long as you do not get carried away. Try to make practical decisions when making big purchases. This will be a good time to make evaluations that will help create growth for the long run.
Cancer – A New Moon in your sign is the beginning of a new cycle. This is a great moment for self-care and love to take front and center in your life. With Saturn ready to go back in Capricorn, you will still have to deal with the struggles of identity and partnerships. Get ready to learn more about yourself and understand your needs and wants because once this Saturn transit is over, you will need to make some changes. The New Moon will be a source of guidance for the new journey to growth for the next six months.
Leo – This can be an overall pleasant transit for you, allowing you to focus on healing and privacy. The Moon likes to be in the sign of Cancer, so this will can be emotional but comforting. It will be a time where you recharge your batteries. With Mercury there too, you will be prompted to rework some things from the past that you have avoided. Overall, you will take things easily and will have the clarity needed to keep going forward especially with Saturn making it’s return to Capricorn later this month.
Virgo – With this transit, you can expect to be surrounded by important people who care about you. There will be appreciation for those people who have stuck by you in your roughest moments. Opening up and sharing with others will come easier for you during this period. Those friends and mentors will serve as a source of inspiration, allowing you to keep moving forward with strength.
Libra – Working hard will be the theme for you during this transit. You are not afraid of challenges, but this will be different from those pesky Saturn transits in Capricorn. With the New Moon in Cancer, you will take center stage with ease and with grace. You will be wearing your heart on your sleeve as you continue to fight through the obstacles that are still around. Nevertheless, you can come through victorious if you continue with patience. Your strength will always be there to push you.
Scorpio – 2020 is making us all reevaluate what our plans and goals were. This New Moon transit will have you considering new ways to reach the top and you might even be inspired to be more connected with your spiritual side. Those around you might find your wisdom comforting, so be prepared to have moments where you provide guidance to friends and family who seek your advice. It is best to be centered and know your potential for this transit. Your willingness to learn more and help others can prove beneficial.
Sagittarius – The New Moon in Cancer will have you rebuilding from the depths of your psyche as you become more in tune with your emotions and the connections you have with the women in your life. Use this transit as a form of spiritual healing. It will not be easy, so this will definitely be a transformative transit for you, as you shed some older parts of yourself to make way for a more powerful version of you.
Capricorn – With this New Moon in your sister sign, Cancer, this will bring up some ghosts from the past. You will surprise yourself in your need to reconnect to those who you no longer speak to but once had a passionate relationship with. Of course, if you have moved on, this energy will be more grounded allowing for you to focus on how to become better at relating to others and leaving those selfish qualities to rest. We are all growing and learning and with Saturn headed back to your sign soon, this will make it a more eye opening experience.
Aquarius – Saturn will be leaving your sign soon, so you might feel a little off from some responsibilities and pressures. However, this New Moon transit will have you continuing some of the lessons Saturn has brought upon you. There will be a different method of restructuring for you, having the focus being on your self-care and goals for the next several months. You will be driven to work hard and play harder, especially when Mars enters the sign of Aries later this month.
Pisces – A new era for you this year with the Sun finally in fellow water sign, Cancer. You enjoy this energy and can revel in it. This New Moon will spark some joy back into your world with a little clarity. The Venus Retrograde transit might make you feel nostalgic, but with this New Moon transit, you will feel more enthusiastic about what the next several months have to offer.

“I Am Majestic” Bath Ritual
Lavender buds
Rosemary sprigs
Lush’s Rose Jam shower gel, inscribing @sigils-in-your-area‘s “I am majestic” sigil
Lush’s Brightside bubble bar - SMALL AMOUNT! A little goes a long way!
Handful of oats
16oz of almond milk
Assorted flowers
Half dozen roses - use 3 for petals and toss 3 whole heads in
Medium sliced orange
Small sliced lemon
White candles
Layer ingredients as listed above, running the bath water after you have added the oats. As it fills, feel free to mix in the milk. Be sure to stir the water with your hands as the water rises, gently whispering your intent. You may also light your candles as you wait and be sure to exercise fire safety!
This bath is one of self care and love. Speak softly and kindly phrases such as “I am powerful” and “I am knowledgeable” when stirring - we want it to be brimming with lovely positivity! Once the tub is full, shut off the water and add your flowers and fruit.
Whilst in the tub, visualize any negative thoughts or energies being washed away. Deeply inhale the lovely fruity, floral scents around you. Think of yourself as royalty! You deserve this luxurious soak!
Remain in the tub for as little or long as you see fit. I stayed in until the water got chilly!
After your soak, be sure to drain the tub carefully - little bits like lavender buds and oats can clog your bath.
And that’s it, loves! You took a bath worthy of the majestic creature you are!
Note: You may use as many or as little of these ingredients as you like, or substitute if need be - whatever you need to make YOU feel great!

Witchy Baths Masterpost
Here is a big masterpost of different types of baths for different types of witches! Use these baths before or after witchcraft to pump yourself up or to wind down. And you do not have to be any specific type of witch to use any of these baths. Any witch can use them.
Note: Many of these baths call for crystals. Research crystals before getting them wet. Many of them listed you should not put in water, instead keep them at the edge of your tub or near it.
Tumblr media
Sea Witch Bath
Kelp Powder (1 tsp)
Sea Salt (½ tsp)
Coconut Oil (1 spoonful)
Coconut Water (½ cup)
Sea Glass, Sea shells, aquamarine, ocean jasper, abalone, pearl, larimar, coral, sand dollars and/or clear quartz
Wood Spoon
Blue and white candles (optional- ocean scented ones)
Steps: Light your candles before filling the tub. Once you start filling the tub add your coconut oil, coconut water, sea salt and kelp powder. With your spoon stir clockwise to help mix in the powder, which can take a bit. The water should turn a faint green tint (the more kelp you add the greener it gets but also the stronger the smell gets). Line your tub’s edge with your sea glass, sea shells, and gemstones. Be sure not to let the gemstones fall in the water, especially if they are ones that can’t get wet. Get into your tub and enjoy.
Note: Kelp powder smells very strongly of kelp, it is a scent I personally like but a lot of people don’t. Air out your bathroom a bit after the bath to disperse the smell. Also if you do not wish to smell like kelp yourself, rinse off after your bath quickly.
Swamp Witch Bath
Kelp Powder (2 spoonfuls)
Clay or Bath Mud like Moor Mud (read label for how much to use)
Green and brown candles
Wooden Spoon
Snail shells, alligator teeth, rounded rocks and any green gemstones you may have
Optional- Moss if you have potted moss to keep on the edge of the tub (or a moss bathmat)
Steps: Light your candles then begin to fill your tub. Add in your kelp powder and the mud, using your wooden spoon stir clockwise to mix. Depending on the type of mud/clay you are using the water will either turn very green to a dark brown. Line your tub with your gemstones, rocks, teeth and snail shells. If you are bringing in a moss plant or other plants keep them near the tub. Get into the tub and relax, if your moss is a stepable type of moss and in reach you can rub your fingers in it as you relax.
Note: Like the sea witch bath, you may want to air out the bathroom after your bath. This bath will smell much stronger of kelp and you may want to shower afterwards to avoid smelling strongly of kelp. You may have to rinse your tub to rid of mud used.
Forest Witch Bath
Pine Needles
Pinecones
Pine essential oil (2 drops)
3 bags of green or black tea
Green sachet
Mint
Cedar Chips
Green Candles (optional- tree or plant scented ones)
Steps: Light your candles and begin filling your tub. In you sachet add 1 part cedar chips and 1 part mint. Tie it shut and add to your bath as it fills. You may then add the pine needles to float freely or you may add them in a sachet as well. Add your two drops of pine oil once the tub is half filled to ensure it is well diluted in the bath. Add your tea bags into the water, line your tub with the pinecones and get in.
Note: essential oils can be harsh on certain skins, dilute the oil with a carrier oil and test on your skin to see if it affects you. If your skin is too sensitive for pine oil omit it from the spell.
Floral Witch Bath
Rose petals
Lavender
Chamomile
Meadow sweet/Sweet grass
Rosemary
Pink and/or Green sachets
Pink Candles
Rose Quartz and Milky Quartz
Floral scented candles or incense of choice
Steps: In your sachet(s) add your lavender, chamomile, meadow sweet/sweet grass and rosemary. Light your candles and incense. Once you begin filling your tub add your sachets, once tub is half filled add your Rose petals. Line your tub with your quartz and get in to enjoy.

Candles: Color and Purpose
Tumblr media
Candles are seen as the most powerful object for witches. If one lights a candle while reciting a chant or prayer for enlightenment, empowerment, and good health is one way to use a candle. One can also ward off negative energy and impart positive energy into one’s life using a candle also.
Historical Uses
Birthdays were the first ritual with candles used. Many believe the practice of wishing and blowing out the candle brought this wish to the gods who would grant it via the smoke.
Candles represent earth (wax), air (smoke), water (melted wax), and fire (flaming wick).
Magical Uses
Always be in the right frame of mind, or the spell will create an opposite effect intended
Allow candle to burn down on its own for most rituals
When the candle has extinguished itself, the spell will be complete
Some rituals and spells may ask for the candle to be extinguished and then re-lit the next day
Never leave a candle unattended
Give decent amounts of time for the candle to burn
Choosing a Candle
Magickally disinfecting your candles before using them is very important, since the energy from those who shipped it may linger on the wax. It is good to make your own candles from scratch for this reason also.
Avoid dipped candles such as white candles dipped into colored wax. Try to find ones solid color throughout
Cleansing Your Candle
Depending upon your preference, you can do a few things to cleanse your candle, such as leaving it outside for a week in the garden to soak up the moon’s rays at night.
For a less time-consuming cleansing, you may anoint your candle, using water and oils prior to the spell or ritual:
Wipe clean with a paper towel, removing all dirt
Prepare a solution of spring water, one teaspoon of sea salt, and warm until the salt dissolves. Allow to cool, and then pour back into the bottle. Keep this in the refrigerator for about a month for use over time.
Intent. Stand in front of your sink, hold the candle in your left hand (nearer to your heart). Be very careful not to wet the wick, and pour a small amount of the sea salt spring water solution over the candle. If using a tea-light candle for quick burn time, remove the candle from its casing before cleansing with the water. Take a fresh paper towel and dry the candle very well and say the following: “This magickal water cleanses thee, with good intent and purity” (Robbins and Bedell, 2017).
Inscribe the candle with a small, sharp knife or thick needle, and scratch your full name and your wish into the wax. It is not important that it be legible, nor the location where inscribed. The words will clout the spell more as the candle burns down.
To anoint your candle, pour some pure vegetable oil into a bowl. This oil is used for most anointing, but if using a spell for health and well-being, you may mix in a few drops of other oils if you wish. Lavender is common for health and well-being spells and will make the magick more intense. Hold the candle in your left hand again and dip the first finger of your right hand into the oil and run it down the candle from top to bottom in a line. If anointing a tea-light, place it back in its casing, dip your finger into the oil, and smear it in a clockwork motion around the top of the candle wax. Say this invocation: “This magickal oil anoints thee, with all things good, magickally” (Robbins and Bedell, 2017). The candle is now cleansed, charged, and ready to be placed in a suitable holder in preparation for the spell you choose.
Rhyming and repetition can help add punch to a spell. A lot of ancient and prewritten spells will rhyme with a poetic fluidity. Repeating the spell will give power to the message each time. The most magickal numbers that represent completion are 7, 9, and 12.
To end the spell, you will need to close the ritual. Choose one of the phrases such as “and so it is” or “the spell is cast” or “so mote it be” before looking upward and saying “thank you.”
Colorful Uses
The correct color is the most important thing with candle use
Some spells are exact to the color needed, and others more flexible

Small Candle Spells
Tumblr media
Not every witch has the means to collect tons of exotic ingredients.   Sometimes, all you have is a candle and a wish.  So, I have put together 10 small candle spells.  (The types of candles I am talking about are tea lights or small, tapered little fellas.  Relatively cheap and easy to use!)  Hope this becomes a resource for you all!  Let’s get started!  <3 Salt
BLACK CANDLE:  Protection
You will need:
One Black Candle
Sheet of Paper
Pen/Pencil
Spellwork:
Write down what it is you wish to protect, be it your home, your family, yourself, etc.
Light the candle.
Chant the following ten times:
By the time this black candle has waned, the blessing of protection be gained by all that fall beneath its wax be safely guarded from attack. Until the next waxing moon appears, protect all that I have written here.
Allow the candle to burn completely down and the wax to spread across the paper.
Fold it and keep it until the next waxing moon.
Repeat as often as needed.
WHITE CANDLE:  Spirit Communication
You will need:
One White Candle
Photo of the Person you wish to speak to
Spellwork:
Before bed, light the white candle and focus on the flame.  Let’s its warmth ignite the love you feel for the person you wish to communicate with.
Say their name allowed.  Speak of the memories you have with them.  Let the memory of them come to life in your mind.
When you are ready, recite the following spell:
Before I rest my head for the night, I ask that my heart’s call to you, (say their name), be answered. In dreams, let us be together again and share the embrace of love. I await your visit and, for it, you have my deepest thanks.
Blow out the candle and visualize their face in your mind’s eye.
Once the wax has cooled, place it and the picture together near your bed.  You are free to sleep.  Enjoy the visit!
PINK CANDLE:  Self-Love
You will need:
One Pink Candle
Piece of paper (cut into a heart shape)
Pencil or pen
Spellwork:
On the heart paper, write down the positive aspects and assets you have.  It can be anything (from pretty eyes to being compassionate.)  Fill up the paper and fold it into a half heart.
Hold it in your hands and shut your eyes.  Deeply breathe, and focus on your pulse and the things you wrote.  Focus on yourself.
Recite the following incantation:
I am who I am flawed, challenging, human I am who I am soulful, in communion with the universe I am who I will be ever-changing and growing And I bow to the purpose that resides in me.
Light the heart paper on fire, allow it to turn to ash, and blow out the candle.
Anoint your forehead and the center of your chest with hearts made of ash.  Meditate on the self and what your purpose might me.
Anytime you feel the need to revisit self-love, use the ashes and light the candle again.
PURPLE CANDLE:  Accessing Gifts and Talents
You will need:
One Purple Candle
Spellwork:
On the night of the New Moon, sit in a quiet, dark room.  Light your candle and concentrate on expelling all the static energy from your mind.
Focus on your the gifts you would like to explore.  An example?  If you are drawn to Tarot, have your deck nearby and envision yourself shuffling the cards.
Repeat the following chant 13 times:
My mind is clear, my heart is too Reveal my gifts, deep and true
Open your eyes and stare into the flame.  Let the fire of inspiration illuminate the talent you want to access.
Invoke the gift by whispering:
On this night, and all nights to come, I will open myself to this ancient power and allow discovery of my true potential.
Blow out the candle and keep by your bedside.  When you practice a gift or talent, light it until there is no more wax.
ORANGE CANDLE:  Calling Your Inner Child
You will need:
One Orange Candle
Divinatory Tool (Suggest: Tarot or Oracle cards)
Spellwork:
Light the orange candle and begin shuffling your cards.
When you feel that you have shuffled enough, hold the cards in your hand and focus on the flames.
Say the following spell:
Bring future to past with this candle’s light and provide for me childish insight. One card to tell me of my woes, another about the child within, a third cast to bring us together so that we may begin again.
Draw three cards.  The first will represent your position right now (who you are and what you have been going through); the second will represent your inner child and what insights they can provide through their innocence.  The third and final card will show you what will happen if you allow the present you and your inner child join together.
Light the candle whenever you need guidance from your inner child again.
LIGHT BLUE CANDLE:  Fortune and Glory
You will need:
One Light Blue Candle
Money (coins or paper money)
An Award or piece of Recognition (trophy, certificate, etc.)
Spellwork:
Anytime on a Sunday (the day where workings for wealth, achievement, goals, and promotions correspond), place your candle between your representations of fortune and glory.
Put one hand on each item, and say:
I humbly ask for the Universe and all the powers within it to look upon these representations of fortune and glory.  I light this candle to honor you and ask for the following blessings…
Light your candle and return your hands to rest on your items.  Recite:
By the light of this flame, sweet fortune I do claim.   Wealth and wisdom I do gain. By warmth of this flame, glory granted to my name. Recognition I do gain.
Allow the candle to burn until there is no more wax.  Collect what is left, store in a jar, and keep in a place you conduct business.
YELLOW CANDLE:  Invoking the Spirit of Air
You will need:
One Yellow Candle
Spellwork:
At 3 PM, go outside and bathe in the light of the middle of the day.  Light your candle and place it in front of you.
Fisting your hands, place them on either side of the candle and say the following incantation:
Here and now, I call the element of Air.  Summer breeze and roaring wind, echoing melody and lifting wings, ever-dancing.  I call you forth to infuse my intention with your swirling fits of both song and silence.  Carry my will on your back and raise my purpose into your sky.  Breath and cloud, sound and song.  Air, I call you to me.
Open your fists and allow for the spirit of Air to translate through your palms and into your center.
Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.
GREEN CANDLE:  Invoking the Spirit of Earth
You will need:
One Green Candle
Spellwork:
At night, go outside and bathe in the light of the moon.  Light your candle and place it in front of you.
Fisting your hands, place them on either side of the candle and say the following incantation:
Here and now, I call the element of Earth.  Soil of fertility and growth, fecund source of stability, stillness and health.  I call you forth to filter away all that is impure, and to stand rooted in this world.  Mountain and dust, footstep and stone.  Earth, I call you to me.
Open your fists and allow for the spirit of Earth to translate through your palms and into your center.
Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.

Open your fists and allow for the spirit of Water to translate through your palms and into your center.
Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.
RED CANDLE:  Invoking the Spirit of Fire

Open your fists and allow for the spirit of fire to translate through your palms and into your center.
Let the candle burn for five minutes and then blow it out, keeping it when you need it again.

how to deal with a witchy burnout
most of us have been there. we lose our touch with the craft and don’t feel like doing much. we feel too tired and exhausted to put effort in it and sometimes we feels like there’s no point.
here are some tips on how to get out of this sticky situation! 🌙
drink tea ✨
yes, you heard me! drinking teas with specific herbs (like chamomile for sleep, lavender for anxiety, etc.) will help you get in tune with herbal magick. you can also stir your tea clockwise to bring forward something (like good energy or calmness) or add a sigil on the bottom with some honey (doesn’t have to be perfect). 🍵✨🌸
nature walk ✨
get in tune with those energies outside! i always find a walk on the grass helps pick up my mood (especially barefoot!!). envision the energies from the earth flowing into your body 🌱🌎🍃
witchy movie ✨
sometimes, we just need a little inspo to bring us back to our craft. watching witchy movies can bring back that spark into us! some great movies i recommend are:
the craft
hocus pocus
the love witch
practical magic
charmed (a show)
carrie
the vampire diaries (a show)
tarot ✨
start off with one card if more than that feels like it would tire you. it’s ok! you can do one in the morning by asking a simple question like “what should i focus on today?” 🔮✨💜
food ✨
incorporate some magick into the food you eat! this isn’t hard at all, especially since we all eat food everyday. simply add an intent to an herb or spice and then add it into your food. for example, add cinnamon onto your oatmeal, with your intent being that you will have abundance 🥐🍦🍩
songs ✨
songs are great to get you back into magick! listen to pagan music, celtic songs, or just look up “witchcraft songs,” “wiccan songs,” or “pagan songs” on spotify🌛🤍🌜
gratitude ✨
this one’s real simple! when you wake up, thank the universe that you got to live to see another day. you can even journal it. breathe in the air and think of how grateful you are that you’re able to do that. soak in the sun’s rays and feel the heat. 🌞🌼💛
final words...
it’s ok to take breaks! nothing wrong with that. it’s human. appreciate yourself as a person. remember, you are magickal and divine no matter how many burnouts you have. burnouts happen to nearly everyone and it’s completely normal! 🍄🐥🌈

Why Your Spells Don’t Work
Tumblr media
You set your intention. You had all the correct correspondences. You even timed your spell with the appropriate moon phase. And yet – no results. What gives?
Failed spells happen to the best of us, and for a variety of reasons. But a spell gone wrong doesn’t necessarily mean that magic isn’t real or that you’re bad at witchcraft. Magic is complicated, and there are a lot of reasons it might not behave the way you want it to. Here are some of the most common causes of ineffective spells:
1. Lack of real-world follow through
Tumblr media
Magic is meant to be used as a tool to supplement your mundane efforts – not as a substitute for them. How can you expect your job hunting spell to bring in results if you aren’t applying for jobs?
Magic does not exist in a vacuum, and it can’t make something out of nothing. If a spell doesn’t bring you the desired result, make sure that your non-magical actions are aligned with what you are trying to manifest.
2. What you’re trying to manifest isn’t a realistic possibility
Tumblr media
Wait, what? Isn’t magic supposed to be, well… magic? Shouldn’t you be able to ask for whatever you want and get it? Yes and no.
Magic is simply a way of directing energy. Magic can’t defy the natural laws of the universe. It can’t make something happen unless it was already a potential possibility.
If your intention is unrealistic for where you are right now, try splitting it up into a multi-step process. No spell is going to make you a billionaire overnight, but magic could help you get hired at a better paying job… and then get promoted… and then get offered a profitable side gig… etc. Starting small and working your way up is always going to produce stronger results, because you laid the foundation first.
3. Your intention was either too vague or too specific
Tumblr media
Whether you use written petitions or spoken incantations, clearly stating your intention is an important part (maybe THE most important part) of any spell or ritual. A good intention is specific enough to get you the results you want, but open enough to let those results manifest naturally.
Let’s say you do a money spell, and your intention for the spell is simply, “I have more money.” If you find a penny on the ground the next day and pick it up, technically that is more money than you had before. A better alternative would be to use an intention like, “I have enough money to buy ___,” or “I have enough money for everything I need and want.”
Using an intention that is too specific creates the opposite problem. Let’s say you want to manifest a scholarship to a specific school. You do a candle spell with the intention, “I have been chosen for the John Smith Scholarship at Jane Doe University.” But maybe the John Smith scholarship had already been awarded by the time you did your spell. Maybe there’s another scholarship at the same school that would be a better fit for you, or maybe you’re eligible for a grant that would make tuition more affordable. A better intention for your spell would be “I have enough financial aid to easily and affordably attend Jane Doe University.”
Magic always follows the path of least resistance, so you want to make sure that your intention is specific enough to give your magic a clear direction, but open enough to allow it some flexibility.
4. Lack of focus/concentration
Tumblr media
We all know the struggle. You’ve been planning this ritual forever, and it’s finally the full moon, but you’ve got a really full schedule today. If you hurry, you can probably squeeze it into the thirty minute window between school and work, right?
If you say a few quick words and burn some incense before you head out the door in the morning, that totally counts as a spell, right?
Not so much. Rushed, lazy, and/or half-assed spells rarely, if ever, work. Spells revolve around the raising and direction of energy, and that requires two things: a clear intention (see above) and intense focus on that intention. If you don’t have the time/energy/mental capacity to focus, it’s best to take a break, have a self care day, and come back to your spell some other time.
5. You’re subconsciously blocking your own results OR you did a spell for someone else who isn’t open to it
Tumblr media
I decided to lump these two together, because they’re different variations of the same issue.
Whenever you are doing magic on yourself, it’s important that your mindset is aligned with your intentions. You can do love spells all day long, but if deep down you don’t believe that you’re worthy of love, that belief is going to block your spells from working. This is why mindfulness, psychology, and self care are all such important parts of a successful witchcraft practice. It’s also why I recommend doing the mental work before you sit down to ritual.
If you did a spell on yourself, or are trying to manifest something for yourself, and it just isn’t working, I highly recommend setting some time aside for journaling and meditation and asking yourself 1.) if this is really what you want, and 2.) if you truly believe that you can have it.
The whole mindset thing gets even more tricky when you’re doing magic on behalf of another person, because their energy is also at work in the situation and could be at odds with yours. For example, if you do a spell to help a friend land a job, but that friend believes that they’re totally underqualified and could never get it, they probably won’t get the job even if you did everything “right” in your spell.
This should go without saying, but it is extremely unethical to use magic to mess around in someone else’s head. Even if you think you know what’s best for them, they need to be open to it. If someone is blocking the spells you do on their behalf, all you can do is try to be supportive and find other ways to help them out.
Tumblr media
Other (Rare) Reasons for Failed Spells
If a spell goes wrong, it will almost always be for one of the above reasons. But maybe you did everything “right” – you did the mental work first, had a strong, realistic intention, put lots of focus into your spell, and followed through in real life – and you still aren’t seeing results. There are a couple of other things that could be blocking your spells, but they’re very uncommon so I’m not going to talk about them in as much detail. These may be things you want to look into if you really, genuinely can’t think of any other cause.
It’s possible that another witch has done magic that cancels out or blocks yours. This is not common, and it does NOT mean that someone has cursed you. It could be as simple as two witches unknowingly casting spells with opposite intentions, which end up cancelling each other out. (For example, maybe two different people both cast a spell to get the same job. Obviously, they can’t both get that job.) This is why it’s never a bad idea to incorporate a protective element into your spells to block outside interference.
There is a very, very remote possibility that someone has placed a curse on you specifically to block your magic. However – and I cannot stress this enough – this is VERY uncommon. If you were cursed you would know it, or at least know that something was very wrong in your life. If you feel like you have been cursed or hexed, I recommend looking into uncrossing spells, which are specifically designed to undo negative magic.
It’s also possible that a higher power is intervening. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a deity, although it certainly could be. Most witches believe in some form of fate or destiny, and it’s possible that your spell didn’t work because what you asked for is not in alignment with your destiny. In these situations, really the only thing you can do is surrender to the bigger picture.

I don’t really understand the Beck hate. She was a real person with issues, obviously she wasn’t perfect but she didn’t had it easy neither. I honestly felt so bad for her the whole season, she was insecure, had shitty friends, two manipulative stalkers, a terapist who took advantage of her (in her vulnerable state) and all people do is call her mediocre. She was a fighter and she deserved better.
