Depression

Why does one word have to define you and your existence? 

This is something I’ve know for years. 

Something I’ve kept so deep in the closet because I am scared. 

Of one fucking word.

DEPRESSION. 

I recently took on too much. 

I broke. 

I shattered. 

Then my “partner” chooses to tell me I’m too much to handle. 

That I need to get help. 

He’s tired of getting beat up. All because I”m not around.

I work three jobs.

Because I have to take on everything financially.

But he’s leaving me for his ex wife. 

I broke. 

I won’t lie I thought about giving up. 

I didn’t want to go to the doctor and speak that word.

Depression.

I didn’t want to admit to myself that I wasn’t strong enough to handle it.

Depression.

I wanted to turn back to that liquor bottle. 

I didn’t.

I finally admitted I have a problem.

I mean I am already shattered right? 

Only I can pick up the pieces. 

While I know it’s only been a week. 

Therapy blows.

These meds aren’t going to show signs of “change” for a month.

But I want to show that fucker.

I want to rub it in his face that I am stronger than him. 

I don’t need his fuckboyness around me to pick up the pieces.

I really think that is the only reason I’m trying to fix myself.

So I can show him I’m stronger than he is.
