I've been affected by cleaning chemicals for the last few days...getting ready for apartment inspection. In my bleach fume delirium, I was looking at chapter covers for Dunmeshi. And maybe I'm crazy. Maybe this is old hat...

Ugh! I struggle so badly with like, wanting to post my takes and opinions on here but feel like a lot of the time my feelings or thoughts don't seem to line up with the general public's. I feel like I've seen a good bit of "my take right, your take wrong" in the Dungeon Meshi Fandom and I just,,, really wanna just talk without feeling like I'm about to enter a debate? as thistle's mental state deteriorated, he frequented the living paintings more and more, spending even days at a time reliving the same memories again and again. it was a way to remind himself what he was doing it all for, but at some point it became no more than escapism that made him hate himself. looking at how things used to be made him full of anger, because he never feels the same as back then these days. it was so painfully clear something in him is wrong and missing, and it just made him lash out at the residents even worse than before.

Lying on the floor staring at the ceiling thinking about how well surviving the demon and the dungeon lord experience in dunmeshi works as a metaphor for depression and burnout.
