Lighthouse girls who wouldn’t rest until you were safe in harbor, who tasted of salt and too much time in the sun. Girls who were the sound of chimes on a Midwest porch. Girls who were sunflowers, who were earthquakes, who were highways, who were honeybells, who were cigarettes

U kno what???? Honestly?? All jokes side about the Duolingo owl, Duolingo is one of the only language education services I know of that doesn’t charge for the full course and I really think we don’t appreciate that enough in a world where knowledge is severely (and increasing) restricted based on income. I just went through the app store and downloaded every language app I can find, and the only two that didn’t charge hefty subscription fees to access all the lessons were duolingo and memrise. Support free education.

[21:07] “Can you stop checking your phone like, every damn minute?” you whispered in Lucas’ ear when you saw him grabbing his cell phone once again and distancing himself from the others. You had agreed to spend your free evening with him, Johnny, Jaehyun and Ten, as they had the day off as well, and you were hanging at the dorms, talking and laughing. You hadn’t seen them in a while and you were really happy to do so, but from a time after, Lucas seemed a bit off. He wouldn’t talk as much as usual and he was a bit quieter than you were used to. At first you didn’t pay much attention but now you were a bit annoyed. 

Lucas looked at you and cleared his throat. “Yeah yeah, sure, sorry.” He left it on the table and smiled at you, you smiled back. But then he crossed his arms on his chest, and rested in silence. When you saw that his mood didn’t change a bit, you excused yourself from the company and dragged to the corridor with you. 

“Lucas? What is wrong with you today?” you asked him, as now you were truly worried. He sighed. 

“Nothing, I’m just tired,” he said, but you didn’t believe him for an instant. You cocked an eyebrow and waited for a more believable excuse.

“Fuck, okay, look, I just can’t be here all okay when I see you looking at Jaehyun like that, okay? It’s like no one else is around for you when he’s here, and this really kicks me in the nerves,” he scoffed, and your eyes opened wide.

“Wha…what?” you asked, confused. 

“I just, I get it okay, he’s like the most handsome person on the dorm, even in the whole company, I don’t know, but it’s still uncomfortable for me to see you looking at him the same way I look at you and you never notice.” He spat the last part out in a breath, and then he realized what he said. He covered his mouth with his hand.

“No no no, forget what I just said, you never heard that – 

Your smile stopped him from talking. You knew something was going on with Lucas lately, and that something had to do with you, but you didn’t know exactly what, and no where you go, having him confessing that he had a crush on you this whole damn time.

“Please go on,” you said, the smile never leaving your face. 

“There’s not much to it that I need to explain, Y/N,” he said defeated. “I just… There’s some time now that I think of you differently. I don’t know when it started exactly, but I know what triggered it. And from that moment on, I constantly think that I wanna be your favorite one, the one that makes your day, the one you think when you lie awake, your number one. I know I’m probably not made for you, you deserve someone perfect, someone…more than me. Because you better trust me when I tell you, there’s no one else more beautiful in this damn world. But still I can’t help it, I don’t think I can be just your best friend.”

“Is that why you are acting so bizarre lately?” you asked, and he nodded, shy and nervous. You laughed shyly, biting down you lip, and you rose on your feet to place a small, soft kiss on his lips. He smirked when he stared down at you, wide – eyed and surprised. 

“Let’s go back inside, so I can like, sit next to Jaehyun and show him who’s my number one?”

list of all my fave nct fics/scenarios

hello! so recently i enjoy reading on tumblr than on aff since there isn’t much nct fanfics on there. i made this list as a recommendation and so that i could remember and keep track of all the fics i read so i could re-read them in the future. most of the fics i read are reader x member (romance) and are either oneshots or completed series, though some fics are unfinished.
