I've been wanting to do this for a long time, & am now finally setting the wheels in motion. I'm going to try & get Fitzjames a memorial at the Abbots Langley church! They asked for a proposal proving Fitzjames' connection to Abbots Langley, so I'm now writing that. (Redacted Fitzmother, sorry y'all 😅) The church seems quite open to the idea, so I have high hopes. When it's officially approved I will set up a crowdfund campaign so we can all contribute to getting Fitzjames a nice memorial. I'm already teary-eyed just thinking about it.

using this table (which I tested out with my brother for scale: he’s about half a foot taller than me, but his forearm’s only about 2cm longer than mine)

The one scene I wish they had included from the book into the show (and maybe the only one) is the one where Tuunbaq makes it into the engine room of Erebus and sets it on fire.

Man, it was riveting, equal in the stress induced to the Blanky vs Tuunbaq scene... the claustrophobic effect, the urgency to get that fire under control, the sheer terror of knowing that the ships are not safe... but, also, Goodsir getting a concussion and still being the only person onboard with enough wit to himself to not only sew a brain back inside a skull but also run back to try and save the engineer.

Anyway, I understand it might have been too costly to make, or would have taken away the horror of the Carnivale, but it was a really great moment for Fitzjames and Goodsir and I feel it would have been great to see.
