#for my sanity please assume that everything is bolted to the walls and floor. I know that this isn't realistic for a ship but I'm having fun #ts4 #the sims 4 #ts4 build #sims 4 build #ts4 interior #sims 4 interior #pirates #(that's what I had in mind anyways... but I'm biased atm.) #my builds #there's something missing from the 2nd pic #but by the time I noticed it had mysteriously disappeared I had already closed my game. So it's just gone until/unless I come back to this. #ships are hellish to decorate bc everything is wood-toned and it looks weird as hell. And ofc none of the woodtones match. #which honestly makes sense for a pirate ship bc they'd take stuff from other ships. But still. The walls and floor also being wood is hard.

oooh, this is a fun question, and idk how I missed it yesterday...

My favorite part of rendering is seeing the final outcome, especially after I edit it. (I also do really enjoy editing the renders.) My least favorite part of rendering is struggling to make my vision become a reality.

My two favorite renders are the two I've done of Rook. (The Hanged Man and Mirror Punch) I'm especially proud of the editing on those two. I also really really really love my Rulers renders, in part because of all the symbolism packed into those three images.

My least favorite render is the first one I ever did, which I never posted (because it was terrible), and never even rotated or edited. (Pic under the cut.) Obviously it was my first one, and it was made just under 3 years ago, so I've obviously had a lot of time to improve my understanding of blender and editing since then.

For my story posts it goes something like this:

Come up with a scene idea, figure out what I need for it.

Find/build sets, make outfits, make poses.

Write the scene (can come before or after making poses.)

Take screenshots

Rearrange the screenshots / decide what dialogue goes with which image

Edit screenshots

Make post/write transcript

For my edits, it goes something like this:

Come up with a concept

Dress the sim(s), decorate/build/find the set

Make poses (if needed. For edits I can much more often find existing poses than for my story posts.)

Take screenshots

Edit screenshots (That also has its own orderly process but this has been long enough, I think.)

Come up with a caption (possibly the hardest part, lmao.)

As you can see, the process is pretty much the same. For CAS posts, it's as simple as:

Make/dress sim

Play around with CAS poses and take screenshots

Crop image and run a couple actions

Hi, uh sorry to bother you. I was looking for discords and your storyteller discord popped up but the link doesn't work. I was wondering if it was still active. I don't have a story *yet* but I'm working on one. I dont know if simply working on one disqualifies me from joining but I would really love a group of storytellers. Most of the blogs I follow are CAS( dont get me wrong, I LOVE CAS but I much prefer stories) excuse the rambling 😅

Ooh, yeah!! I can share the link!! We're not always super active chatters, but the server does still exist and is always welcoming new people. And yes of course!! Working on a story is more than enough!! Even I'm technically not actively posting my story right now, or at least, I haven't posted a single story post in months. There's no hard or fast rule as what counts as "enough", and I don't ever want to exclude people. :)

Did ones for my Internet Name (Morrigan), my nickname (Morri), and my legal/real life name ([redacted]). The Morrigan one would be more accurate if the reds were a bit more saturated and less brown. The Morri one is pretty, but not at all what I expected. And as for my irl name, I should have guessed it would give me pink. Little baby me would have been thrilled but current me is not so much.

I FINALLY GOT ONE OF THESE, YIPPEE!!!! (and the last one ever, too....) Anyways, I'm going to answer the storytelling one, bc that's what I do.

For me it depends on the scene. If I can find a lot from tumblr or the gallery, great! I'll download it and modify it a little if I need to. But if no such thing exists (that I can find at least), or at least no such thing that fits my vision or needs, I'll make it myself. Being a fantasy storyteller, that happens more often than I'd like. I'm absolutely terrible at exteriors, so whenever possible I'll use someone else's lot as a shell. But for interiors, I don't mind decorating in the slightest, and I honestly enjoy doing landscaping for outdoor scenes.

All of the rooms in the The Palace I either decorated myself or had a friend decorate for me. I also built (and shared!) the lot from Kristopher's date. I also built the exterior of the garrison for Nina's date. Oh, and I build the pond lot from Duncan's date!

The graveyard from the prologue, the exterior area from Lavinia's date, the stables from Kristopher's date, the ruins from Nora's date, and the town from Hermes's date were all existing lots that I downloaded from either tumblr or the gallery. I did modify all of them slightly, though, be it by adding decosims or decor items.

If you're interested in seeing some of the stuff I've built, be it for RTQ, for edits, or just for fun, there's a lot of pics in the "ts4 build" tag on my blog. Most of it is stuff I made for RTQ, but Wolf's rooms are also in the tag. (And if I finish Zara's office and remember to take pics, I'll post those too.)

Pirate Outfts

I was bored, so I started trying some different outfits on Zara... The last one might be my favorite, if only because I already used another swatch of the first one for Wolf, and I can't have them wearing the same thing... But I also love being able to see all her freckles in the 2nd one...

alright, the platform idea worked, now I just need to know two things:

Has anyone ever made a dirt-textured platform trim? And

Does anyone know of any fresh/open grave cc?? (like the rim of dirt that would be around a dug up grave). Or even just lines/piles of dirt in general? I know I used to have some before I lost all my files, bc I distinctly remember using it once before, but I obviously don't have it anymore.

Gonna try what @sirianasims suggested and mess around with platforms, but if that doesn't work, I now have another plan for an Avra edit... So fingers crossed I can make at least one of these happen.

Now, if only I could find a good jester outfit for Aspen's patron...

the fact that ts4 only allows for super gradually sloped terraforming is literally going to ruin this entire edit idea. I need a hole in the ground!!!! Not a gradual divot!

The fact that I haven't made a character edit/render of Cyra, Avra, or Aspen is CRIMINAL. I have a good idea for Aspen, just need to find an outfit for their patron. I have a vague idea for Cyra, and now that I have the Skiff I'm one step closer to making it reality. And I have an idea now for Avra too, which is nice. Might actually work on that one today, at least planning-wise...

Rant: The early access model has kind of creatively bankrupted CC, actually.
