Elriels want to play with fire but they can't even take the heat 🤷‍♀️ Fact is every time I see a r*pe threat or someone being doxxed or an artist being chased out of the fandom, more often than not it's due to an Elriel.

It's not a competition of who is more toxic (Elriels seem obsessed with making everything a competition) but rather calling out bad behavior. And if we see more of this such bad behavior from Elriels, then naturally most of the call outs will be about Elriels, no?

Imagine there are two towns, where the crime rate in Town B is higher than Town A. Then obviously you would expect to hear more news of people in Town B committing crimes than in Town A. And then imagine the people in Town B going, "Damn, there are also criminals in Town A!" I mean duh but you just don't encounter them as often.

Yes one of my very dear friends came up with this headcanon .... And it was when I was talking about Fionn and Enalius ... And I think her headcanon has more parallels to Gywnriel

Please Note at this stage it is a crack theory and headcanon alone ....

We know Priestess Oleana was the one who gave Gwydion its power by dipping it in the Cauldron and it was Enalius who wielded Truth Teller ....

What if Priestess Oleana and Enalius were mates who couldn't be together in their previous life .... what if Azriel and Gwyn are basically Enalius and Oleana Reborn to find each in a different life.... it would be so poetic... them finding their mate to get another chance to spend their life with each other.

I for one absolutely loved the headcanon and I know I am going to scream if it happens but as it stands its not really backed by any Canon info . Also, it would lean in to the headcanon that Gwydion might call to Gwyn ...

Honestly this ^ is one of my favorite lines from the BC, because it confirms two things:

Azriel HIMSELF acknowledged that his shadows were curious about Gwyn. And Gwyn became the only (I think?) character to ever directly recognize that his shadows may be sentient beings and thus react to them.

It truly makes me wonder if E/riels really read ACOSF when they say things like this:

Because if they truly read the book.... they'd know this happens after the bonus scene takes place:

Two scenes in which his shadows have a reaction when Gwyn is around or mentioned in ACOSF. One during training, one when Gwyn is in the Blood Rite. And there is no singing involved.

Oh, and in the bonus scene.. there is more than just that one mention of the shadows dancing with Gwyn breathe.

There is this before they even dance for her breathe:

And this happens when something restless settles in him during his scene with Gwyn:

And this is as Azriel is leaving his interaction with Gwyn:

Again, no *actual* singing involved. Azriel can hear & see things others cannot so when he's leaving he's not actually hearing Gwyn sing. He's hearing faint, beautiful singing that follows him that his shadows sing back to, which can only be concluded as foreshadowing of a mate bond between them since Nessian bond snaps into place that same night and is described as music between their souls. If Gwyn was the one singing, that would have been made clear.

I rest my case 😌

Adjective (color of Azriel's siphons. Blue is also associated with Gwyn (her friendship bracelet color, plus her teal eyes are a mix of green and blue))

Adjective (golden is associated with light, sunshine, day etc)

Bloom (Elain's mind was described with having sealed blossoms and sleeping buds, and she also loves gardening. Possible alternative is "Sight" for her seer powers, but I thought "Bloom" looked prettier.)

This is why I always say Elriels are more obsessed with Gwyn(riel) than even us shippers. They somehow have the incredible ability to keep coming up with more and more preposterous arguments.

In ACOSF, we literally see Gwyn being curious about sex, asking Nesta if it was good.

Nesta’s cheeks flushed. Emerie and Gwyn swapped glances. And it was Gwyn who said, “Was it good?” (Chapter 38, ACOSF)

Also, SJM specifically pointed out it was smut books -- not just any generic romance -- that the Valkyrie trio found themselves hooked onto.

Gwyn might not be ready for sex now, but she has shown that she is ready to begin exploring it sometime in the near future. And tbh I'm one of those who read SJM's books because I love the world-building and characters rather than because of the smut so I'm not that hung up about this issue lol. I mean I would much rather pick reading about the spark in Azriel's chest over a failed kiss that was called a mistake anytime of the day.

I have never known a group more determined to make Gwyn's entire personality her trauma than even Gwyn has herself.

This from the same people who have convinced themselves Lucien wants Vassa despite him not giving consent that he's interested in her romantically. After Lucien too suffered SA.

Gwyn is not real. She doesn't have to give her consent for us to imagine that a male she felt comfortable being alone with in the middle of the night with no one else around might be someone she is eventually interested in romantically.

A female who chooses to interact with Az during training, something you don't see with Emerie towards Az. Gwyn actively teases and seeks out conversation with him specifically.

She's shown more interest in Az after a few months than we saw from Elain after over a year. Looking at someone does not trump actually talking to them and that's about all Elain did in SF.

Using Gwyn's trauma as a reason to deny her the possibility of love in future books is an absolutely disgusting take in this fandom.

That's what healing journeys are about and trying to gaslight readers into thinking they're bad people for currently shipping Gwyn with Az just because she hasn't verbally stated "I want to sleep with you" at this point in the series makes you look like an enemy to SA victims, not an advocate.

One of my main issues with Elriel is that a story with them would have no tension. Since Elriels claim the content of the BC doesn't matter, then the necklace incident cannot be the reason behind their falling out (if any). An Elriel story wouldn't start with Elain moping over the rejection since readers who haven't read the BC would be like "what rejection??" (This is in contrast to Gwynriel, whose mating bond is highly hinted at in the BC but even without it, the author can still confirm the mating bond in their book.) An Elriel book would start with them already liking each other... and then what?? Their plot doesn't even align (Elain = Koschei plot (tied to Lucien), Azriel = Illyria plot (tied to Gwyn, the only non-Illyrian Carynthian) and we won't see them falling in love on page.

With Elucien, there's tension because of the mating bond, and because they don't know each other that well yet. Elain resists the mating bond, but let's face it, if she wasn't mates with Lucien, she probably would have fallen in love with him. It's because of the bond that their relationship is seemingly strained, and the bond is also what SJM is known for!

With Gwynriel, they may not be at odds with each other the way Feysand, Nessian and Elucien are initially, but they are also at the friend stage. Watching them grapple with newfound feelings for each other (I don't know about you but the most heart-fluttering stage of a romance is when they, you know, actually begin to like each other and we get to see it happen) and a possible mating bond (with both of them feeling unworthy of each other) can provide obstacles and opportunity for growth for them as a couple.

And Elriel? Elain just has to break her bond with Lucien. So she'll be spending a significant amount of time with him aka her mate. And for things to be fair and to show that he loves her just as much, Azriel has to break his bond with his mate (an equal sacrifice on his part). And his mate is probably Gwyn. So he'll be spending time with her. Yeah, real nice, an Elriel book will just be them spending time with their respective mates...

By far the most obvious and strongest supporting clue is the author herself. SJM holds a 100% rate when it comes to her main couples being mates. She is literally known as a fated mates writer. And what do we have here? A confirmed mate couple and a heavily hinted mate couple. Said author has also only ever spoken of Elucien's potential as a couple, supported Pinterest images of Elucien, talked about them on Facebook... and never the Other Ship.

What would you say are the top 3 (or 5) strongest clues that say Elucien/Gwynriel are gonna happen? The ones that really feel so solid to you.

Ooooh, this is a good question.

For Gwynriel:

That Gwyn is the only character to treat Az's shadows as being separate from himself. It' like a guy who begins dating a girl who has children but he never pays attention to them versus the guy who goes out of his way to get to know the children, proving that he understands the girl and her children are a packaged deal.

That Az is not looking as Gwyn as someone in need of his protection. I'm sure there will be some of that in their book, mates always look out for one another, but there is a big difference between "we can do this together" versus, "I'll do it for you so you don't get hurt".

That Gwyn seems to have a bloodthirsty side to her personality, just as Az does. He can torture in a symphony of pain which means he has chosen to finesse his craft. He's not "let's get this over as quick as possible because I don't like it," it's, "I'm going to draw this out nice and slow and make it hurt in ways you never dreamed." I think he feels guilty about his enjoyment of it afterward because he thinks it makes him a bad person but I think he gets satisfaction from the actual act. Someone like Gwyn who was excited over the thought of the Valkyries cracking skulls and skewering their enemies is well matched for his brutality.

That Gwyn and Az seem to prefer a smaller group of friends over being extremely social, the life of the party. Neither seems to mind their alone time.

For Elucien, there are so many:

That Elain and Lucien share important core values. They are quick to apologize for failing others, they both prefer to avoid violence, they both enjoy being social and engaging with others. There will never be a time where they have to check up on one another, "I'm sorry, is this too overwhelming for you? We can head home if you need".

That Lucien has been loyal to Elain and only Elain ever since he found out who she was to him. No, he did not instantly love her but he chose to respect their bond while he took the time to learn about her whereas he could have easily continued his rakish ways especially after learning she was engaged to someone else. Loyalty to the FMC is sexy.

That Lucien was the one to meet Elain's father and live in the human lands. These are two enormous parts of Elain's past, things that mattered a great deal to her and it will only ever be Lucien who has insider knowledge of who her father was and what being human is about.

That SJM retconned Lucien's father so he'd have the power of the sun in his veins and had Elain constantly by the sunniest windows, as if any bit of darkness was abhorrent, claiming that she needs Sunshine.

That Elain has not yet touched or truly gotten to know Lucien. If the author wanted us to see why they were poorly matched, she would have shown them interacting. She would have shown that despite their best efforts to acknowledge their bond, they were just not fitting. Instead, she has Elain keeping Lucien at a distance book after book and I will never believe the answer to that puzzle is because "she doesn't like him," "she's clearly not interested." An author would more likely prevent two mates from interacting in a major way because she knows there is something there. She knows characters like Elain and Lucien need to remain apart because their chemistry will be obvious the second they start really talking.

Because Elain can hear Lucien's heart and because she is the most beautiful female he'd ever seen. Because he knew she needed fresh air when every single other person in the IC just accepted her being cooped up in her room for weeks. There is a connection between Elucien that is never going away and it would ruin any other romance for either character. No matter what Elain might share with someone else, Lucien is always going to hold a piece of her that the other cannot touch.

Yk I do have a question about the lightsinger theory. If she was subconsciously luring Azriel, wouldn't she have the same effect on Cassian Or Rhysand Or any other male she comes across? I mean the whole point of subconsciously using powers is not having a good aim.

Elriel might have non-platonic feelings for each other now but we also missed the entire process of how these feelings developed. At least with Nessian we saw the book start with Nesta at odds with Cassian so there was tension, but a hypothetical Elriel book would start with them already liking each other and then... what? There's nothing stopping them from getting together, since Lucien who is a gentleman would 100% respect Elain's decision (there's no way he's invoking the Blood Duel lmao). And then both Elain and Lucien will feel the pull of the bond for the rest of their immortal lives :/ You can't even say the necklace debacle is the reason for Elriel's fallout to cause tension in their novel because supposedly "it's just a bonus chapter that not everybody can access and the content of it doesn't matter!" I mean a bonus chapter can't be unimportant and important at the same time, lol.

Gwyneth Berdara has my whole heart. I know antis like to accuse Gwynriels of using Gwyn as a self-insert (or whatever) because we supposedly only care about Azriel and not Gwyn, so I am here today to unabashedly and proudly declare myself as a Gwyneth "Some things are more important than fear" Berdara stan. I love Azriel as well but Gwyn's journey throughout ACOSF deeply touched me. I admire her strength, both inner and outer, and she's literally the least problematic character in the series alongside Lucien and Emerie.
