Heeeyyyyyyy, been gone for a hot minute, but I haven't quit piano, and I've missed the studyblr community! Lots of things I now have the time to work towards with piano, so there will be new recordings this summer (if all goes to plan)! 👀😄🎹

I've had the sheet music for this arrangement for years. How did 5 years ago me think this was doable at that time??? This is so much harder to get sounding good than I thought. Like. How does he make it sound so full and warm and all that good stuff like the sharp staccatos and the- sjfhskd??? maybe I'm sleepy so nothing feels right 😅 and it's been too long since i last practiced 😓

College Updates: I got into Rose-Hulman with a scholarship, waitlisted at Carnegie Mellon Comp Sci (which I’m actually happy about bc I didn’t think I would make it at all) and I didn’t get into Boston University but I got the guaranteed transfer option!

Why can't I make a single good mindmap?

20th December - What is your favourite and least favourite holiday/winter food? Le chocolat! A Noel, on peut le manger tous les jours, et c'est tout a fait normal! Chocolate! At Christmas, you can eat it everyday, and it's completely normal!

21st December - What was the most memorable holiday celebration you had at school? Je ne sais pas. Franchement, je ne pense pas qu'il y a des fêtes a l'école! C'était très ennuyeux. D'habitude, le prof a acheté des biscuites, et nous avons regardé un film. I don't know. Honestly, I don't think there were parties at school! It was very boring. Usually the teacher bought some biscuites and we watched a film.

Trying to take a break from studying by reading some vaguely academic books - except since I'm trying to crochet and read at the same time (page-turning is hard lol) there's not much reading actually going on. How are you doing?

18th December - What is your favourite Christmas song/carol? Hmm, je ne pense pas que j'ai une chanson préférée, mais j'adore Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas. Ce n'est pas un choix créatif, mais c'est tellement bon! Hmm, I don't think I have a favourite song, but I love Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas. It's not a very creative choice, but it's just so good!

19th December - What is a Christmas song that makes you cringe? Je ne sais pas le nom...le chanson qui était partout sur TikTok l'annee dernier. C'est trop agaçant! I don't know the name...the song which was all on TikTok last year. It's too annoying!

I'm swamped with revision at the moment (I'm working on my time management skills, but I spend too long building up for studying and not enough time actually studying), because mocks are right around the corner - if they're not cancelled. Never have I hoped so much for exams to happen!

yesterday and most of today i’ve been mainly focused on cramming apush (during my free periods, in between classes in the hallway, etc.). i’m looking forward to taking it easier after today and especially after thursday, which is when my break starts :)

total weekend studying time: 24 hours

remember to hydrate and give yourself breaks! 🌱

3rd January - What is your aim for 2022? J'espere que je serai plus heureusement et je sais que je travaillai très dur! I hope that I will be happier and I know that I'll work very hard!

4th January - What is the most important thing that is going to happen to you this year? Je ne sais pas...c'est une surprise! Je fini l'ecole secondaire cette année et je commence des A-levels - vraiment important! I don't know...it's a surprise! I finish school this year and start A-levels - incredibly important!

Exams have started - 5 down and several more to go. It's definitely a learning experience, but I feel drained already! Think I need to work on better exam practice (like going to bed at a decent time, lol). No nice notes at the moment, only practice questions and fear. While I know the importance of exams and I enjoy showing off the hard work I've put in, I'll still be glad when they're over!

Habitica 101

Habitica is an app and website dedicated to tracking "Habits," "Dailies," and "To Do's." Habitia will "Gamify your life" as you create an avatar, level up by completing tasks, and go on quests to level up your character.

Start here

Create an avatar. When you begin, you will have a default character. As you complete tasks and quests, you can customize your character more with armor and accessories.

Mark it off

Choose some tasks for each section (Habits, Dailies, and To-Do) that are attainable but challenging. This allows you to get the feel of the app and build Habits and Dailies. I tend to add distracting things or fun hobbies to the Rewards section.

Party up

Join a party to hold yourself accountable for accomplishing tasks! You can also go on quests with your party to gain more XP, pets, and gold.

Extra Info

XP helps you level up, once you level up you gain health and gold.

You lose health if you fail to complete a task or complete a bad habit.

Gold can be used to purchase rewards, items, and health potions (to restore lost health).

Pets are from eggs which can be found by completing tasks or quests with your party.

Exams are over!…and now there’s a month until I have to start studying for the next (and more important) set.

I had a bit of a break with studying Hindi, but now I’m back on track! The oblique case is killing me, but I’m slowly improving and I love seeing my progress!
