➕ for every woman who wishes she didn’t have stretch marks is another who desperately wishes she did ➕ . Everyone says your body and mind changes after having a baby but when I had Grayson via C-Section I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew recovery was going to be hard but it was my first time ever being in a hospital, having surgery and it was all the most frightening, anxious thing Ive ever done. I was greeted by nurses and doctors in a bright room filled with medical equipment and never felt so alone. They gave me a spinal and soon my legs went completely numb. I laid there spread like a starfish naked and about to be cut open in front of 12 people which only 1 I knew. My doctor. My husband entered and before I knew it stressed was washed away by Baby Graysons first cries into the world. • my body • The first time I fully realized what my body went through was the morning after when I tried to do the things I once could. Using the restroom, showering, putting on pants was a huge painful struggle and I remember taking 15 minutes to put on this giant pad and giant mesh panties that ended up with me crying alone over the pain and frustration. • FF 6 weeks later (today) to my first PP appointment and my doctor says I am healing nicely and everything is working the way it should be on the inside. This may be true but my mind isn’t what it used to be and my body looks differently on the outside. It may not be as pretty as it used to be but that’s okay it was your home. It was where I grew to love you. These scars are marks of your love and life. I can’t do everything I once could just yet but eventually I will and these marks will be a constant reminder of the strength my body used to create you. This belly held you until my arms could and for that I will always try and find something beautiful about these scars I call my stripes. I will no longer see this as a flaw and allow my mind to tell me that I’m not worthy but learn to love my body unconditionally as you love me and understand that ➕ for every woman who wishes she didn’t have stretch marks is another who desperately wishes she did. 💕 ➕ | 📸 @momofthewildones From Instagram
