Johnny whacked Hina in the back of her head with the butt of his training spear, "Try harder, Abbott."

Hina scowled and rolled over, peeling her sweaty face from the tile floor.

"You know, if I was using my staff and not these daggers you'd be the one face down." She grumbled.

"Oh yeah?" Johnny held out the spear. "Trade me and we'll see."

Hina grabbed the spear and crouched into a fighting stance while Johnny bounced on his feet, twirling the wooden daggers.

Hina took a deep breath and ran toward Johnny, feinting a forward lunge on her left. As Johnny dodged away she switched direction, twirling the staff across her shoulders to her other hand and sweeping Johnny's ankles out from underneath him.

He hit the ground hard and rolled upright, face flushed red.

Hina smiled and stuck her tongue out at him.

Johnny lunged at her, throwing one of the daggers at Hina's forehead.

She swung her staff and knocked it away, and Johnny used the distraction to close in.

Unfortunately for him though, she was two steps ahead of him.

Hina dropped low underneath his wild swing and used her staff to launch herself in the air and slid down Johnny's back.

He whipped around and tried to grab her hair, his anger growing rapidly.

Hina laughed and gracefully pirouetted. This of course only made him angrier.

"Now do you take me seriously?" She grinned.

"Consider the lesson learned." Johnny sighed.

Mortal Kombat OC

Hina Abbott

Hina is from Earthrealm. She is 5’7 and has dark brown hair and gray-blue eyes. She works as a ballet dancer for a small studio in a big city.

Hina's parents passed away when she was 12 and she spent the next few years at her aunt's house with her cousins. She left their small town when she turned 18 and has never gone back. (Her uncle was kind enough to her but everyone else was mentally abusive)

Hina took self defense courses to keep herself safe, but they didn't help her much when Kano stormed into her apartment and abducted her. There had been a prophecy of the future that foretold of Hina being the means to destroy Earthrealm, and Quan Chi wanted to find her.

The abduction was foiled by Raiden who transported her to the Shirai Ryu temple. Raiden gathered the heroes together and held a summit to try and discern why she was important to the enemy.

They decided to assign Kuai Liang to protect her until she was no longer in danger. He fought against the choice, saying literally anyone else would be better suited for her guardian.

Raiden stayed firm in his decision and left to investigate.

Kuai was very rude to Hina in the beginning. He didn't speak to her or acknowledge her presence other than to admonish her.

He brought her to his clan and she immediately tried to be as helpful as possible. She did whatever she could to make herself useful; helping the elderly with chores and repairs, baking/cooking, she volunteered for literally anything.

Kuai saw her and was genuinely surprised, he assumed she would be weak and unpleasant.

The two grew closer after months of kidnap attempts and weapon training. Kuai taught her to fight with a staff, as her strong legs gave her a good foundation for holding the stances.

Despite his best efforts Kuai fell in love with Hina. He realized it when she fell into a freezing pond after rescuing a child. She nearly died that night and Kuai felt helpless and ashamed as he held her in a fur wrap next to a roaring fire. He was upset that he couldn't be the thing warming her up, and he realized that he didn't know what he would do if he lost her.

Kuai and Hina were deeply affectionate and loving toward each other. Everyone knows how much they cherish each other and the village is so happy for the grandmaster.

Eventually the full prophecy came to be known. If Hina was murdered, Kuai Liang would be so distraught over the loss of his love that he would become blind with rage and cover half of the earth in a new ice age, killing nearly everything caught in the blast.

Kuai vowed anew to protect Hina and to make sure the prophecy never comes to pass.
