Small thought about mountain king
I thought they would do this, releasing the film in december of this year. It's been a year after Season 2 and the cliffhanger, so everyone had the change to catch up and had to wait a year for it. Really wondering how they will portray it. Don't think they will adopt the book in its entirety because they are going to release a Season 3 so it wouldn't fit.
And i'm really curious how they will add David and Frida in to the story. They are not present in the book, but i can't believe they leave them out of this after being two important characters in the show. I just hope they won't repeat them what they did in S2EP13. Going after Hilda and her mum to find them. We have seen that. Would be funnier if Johanna lies to them, but they find out and Johanna refuses and doesn't want their help. Frida ignores her and decides to follow Johanna and uses her magic to help her, without Johanna noticing at first. David coul have a story that he is to afraid and doesn''t want to go and so stays behind. He regrets it later (thinking of Hilda who is brave and would help him if he needs it) and decides to find her. So he wonders alone and is actually the first one to find her. It makes him brave, it's character deveolpemtn because he has to conquer his fears of the trolls and set aside his fears to help Hilda. Later Johanna discovers that Frida has helped her and is with her and together they find Hilda and David with the trolls.
Like i said, i don't want to see a subplot involving David and Frida together and searching. We have seen that in the episode The Stone Forest that ended with the cliffhanger that is going to be resolved in this movie. I hope for a better and different subplot for them, especially for David. I just hope they are in it. Not only at the end of the start, but troughtout the film.

This.. is . true
Yes, I am 21. Yes, this is what I’m watching after writing an exam, hanging out, and not getting home until after 12:30 in the morning. Everyone de-stresses by watching children’s shows, right?

The new Rupert Annual, 2019, is announced! With a new story by Stuart Trotter, Rupert and the May Queen’.
Other great stories from Alfred Bestall and John Harrold ofcourse are in here aswell. Still no old stories from Mary Tourtel reprinted, unfortunally. The cover from Stuart Trotter looks amazing, so i am very excited about the new story. But i have to be patient, there not for sale yet.
Releasedate is set to be on 9 august 2018

How can you not enjoy the beautifull drawings of Alfred Bestall and made up a story with Rupert and his friends yourself? So much imagination possible!

Today we remember those who fought for our freedom in the second World War and wars and peace missions afterwards in The Netherlands.
Never forgotten andin memoriam.
Around 20.00pm, everyone in The Netherlands is quit for 2 minutes. Cars, trains and busses don't ride, airplanes do not take off and shops are closed. That's how we remember everyone who didn't sruvive this horrifying war.

You know, I should probably start posting art of characters people actually recognize instead of oldies or nobodies that only I care about because I grew up with them or something.
So anyway, here’s a character that has been around since the… 30s? 20s? Did Mary Tourtel create Pong Ping? Whatever, here’s Rupert Bear’s friend Pong Ping meditating. Not that he was ever shown meditating in any media, as far as I know. It does seem like something he’d do, though.
As a side note, the Rupert show from the 90s became one of my favorite shows of all time when I revisited it in 2013. Hearing the original version is still a little weird to me. Pong Ping in particular (voiced by Oscar Hsu) I was used to sounding pretty confident and wise, even a bit cocky, and the original is more delicate and innocent. On the flipside, a lot of the kid voices got dubbed by men in their 30s. Talented men in their 30s, but still, kinda weird hearing a baby badger voiced by a version of Iago…

Quick sketch of Rupert Bear by octaafdebolle
A quick sketch i made of Rupert Bear, just patiently waiting for his next adventure or for someone to talk to. If you visit Nutwood, he is the first person who will greet you and would love to show you his village.
I made it on Canvas with a combination of traditional pencils, markers and paint
