Look kids were always getting fucked over by false advertising since the dawn of kids toys commercials but obviously since then advertisers have been avoiding that shit with verrrrry tiny disclaimers but yeah it’s an effort but at least toys were shown how they probably looked cheap plastic with sometimes messy paint jobs and unclean seams ok that’s the experience it’s expected but I hate the idea of not being able to see the toy you are buying for a kid that is evil sorry

Also surprise collectibles made more sense as a fucking coin machine thing like yes this is a cheap piece of plastic in a plastic capsule and yes it’s worth a literal quarter

Ok imagine you are me in 2005 very little and I can remember what the toy aisle looked like in the 2000s you could grab the more affordable toys like hotwheels lps or Barbies hotwheels and lps being literally 5 dollars a pop you got to see what toy you got you didn’t get doubles you were not playing with fate to get the toy YOU WANTED it was not a gamble

Ok so can I just take about the state children’s entertainment but about toys when I was a kid like a little kid and the time my parents took me shopping you got to see the toys you wanted you got to see it and now the most cheap toys are the blind boxes and shit there’s more to it but I already spoke more passionately about this to my girlfriend

#I not doubting there weren’t surprise toys in the 2000s remember kinder surprise eggs but those were cheeeap #you got that shit at the cash register

[Monster High] i wanted to try merging G1&3 AND make them a bit more monstrous AND still keep the cute dorky kids quality AND wrangle the color scheme into cohesion... i just think it's fun how malleable they are
