Rant

TW: homophobia, transphobia, racism, bigotry

So I might be moving here full time because the anipoke community (and the Pokemon community overall) on twitter is a hot mess. I recently started watching Horizons (specifically the current arc) and it’s been really interesting to watch and follow, but several people in the community have been making it easy to ruin the experience for me and others by making these “Ash is better” “liko sucks” comments. I get it, you miss Ash. I do too, but he won’t come back for a while, or maybe ever. It’s bothersome to see people mention ash whenever someone posts about Liko, Roy, or even Dot and it’s kinda irritating.

Also, I’ve been experiencing some harassment from some people. One of them deactivated when i called them out, but another one is being really weird and calling me a “simp” “delusional” and other names because I stated that i don’t like amourshipping. Like it’s normal to be like “i disagree” but this person took it personally and is now calling me names and saying i made up palletshipping, which is a complete lie, and that I’m fake and whatever. There’s so many immature people in this community that it’s overwhelming.

One last thing, there’s been an uptick of bigotry in the community and that’s been difficult to deal with. I’m sure some of you know that a developer for a modified Pokemon game, pokeroque, had to step down because he was accused of being transphobic, which ended up being true. Also today, I saw one account with an Ash profile pic that repeatedly posted the hard R. It just sucks to see a bunch of bigots in the community and I’m heartbroken that we are going backwards.

Um yeah. That’s it. I just want things to get better. I’m already dealing with a bunch of shit right now like packing up my apartment and dealing with my underpaying shitty job. Pokémon is supposed to be a distraction from it all, but now I can’t get peace from that either
