it’s interesting that’s next ep is “ melting down” (124) chapter not “ devils  of the island” (123) chapter. They skipped an big flashback chapter. Mikasa’s flashback!

No problem, initially, but  once “ melting down” starts they can’t just cut it & give us a flashback chapter. Melting down starts the events that escalate hugely to the climax!!, cutting it then will be odd. Plus, it is so clear that this season is not going to give us the finale at all. They’ll leave the finale foe a movie or something. 

Cutting Mikasa’s ( 123) flashback feeds into Eren the illogical devil with no attempt whatsoever to understands the events. Not saying that chapter 123 events justifies Eren, No. But it brings balanced argument into the “ world is so cruel” theme. The world is cruel from both sides which traps the audience into the impossibility of the situation. creating powerful narrative. Cutting it, simplifies the debate into just “ He is just mere cruel devil, the world is the only beautiful one”.

I always thought that all the sides are both cruel & beautiful in their own perspective.

Unpopular Opinion: (this is NOT hate post)

Fruits Basket Another is just an attempt to write a slightly independent story while cashing in & milking an exiting fan-base by throwing in bits & pieces about their fave characters here & there. 

Nearly the entire first chapters consist of a plethora of characters whose existence is only to tell you” your faves married & got this & that as children”.

All the kids appearance & characters are basically a strong mixed version of their parents. sometimes... the EXACT copy of the their parents either in looks or attitude & sometimes both (hajimae is kyo cloned).

The story attempts to fix what the main story couldn’t. (give akito a proper redemption). Reading the original manga, I was never convinced of how akito changed her mind nor how she attempted to repent. The fact that I have to read “another” if I wanted to understand akito better is sad. Akito deserved better in the original story. I’m shocked the anime didn’t give her a more satisfying path.  But then again, the anime failed tohru’s storyline more than I could have ever imagined a main character would be badly treated. I enjoyed the anime, but I didn’t enjoy anime-tohru as an independent character. 

The fact that there are 456788765467 kids with tohru’s life teachings engraved in them through their parents makes for an unbalanced dynamics. Everybody is 100% healthy. It’s the same as us in the original manga joking the sohma’s are 100% mentally unstable! lol.

I’m lost counting the kids & their names but I guess their parents based on their looks. But why are all the sohmas fertile? lol

The most exciting aspect is hearing a fleeting comment abt this og characters or what they’re doing now, guessing their life from their kids.

The basic style of matching kids to parents so much is seen in the anime as well... (hajime= copy of kyo’s face & mannerism), ( middle son= kyo’s face=tohru’s mannerism: holding a book, loooking formal), (daughter= tohru’s face & you guessed it! tohri’s mannerism. The way she’s leaning towards her dad.)

If sawa & shiki?’s story was issued as an independent manga by Takaya without it ever being related to the sohma or anything, would it sell as much? Takaya wrote other works than furuba, but furuba is forever money garner.

i’m not hating, i’m just musing over the “lazy” try to create either a compelling sequence with less characters but bigger story or create an independent story. I know most of us are thankful for it, I myself enjoyed the occasional funny bits & learning abt og characters... but there isnt much unique character in  the story. Everything is sth tohru said once or taught or brought up & everybody looks& acted like their parents...

Also, I’m not disrespecting takaya, i think it is smart to cash on furuba’s fame~ more power & money to her~

Tell me this doesn’t look like a foreshadowing of tohru holding baby hajimae in her hands & kyo is sitting bside her in disbelief, “not only did I marry the woman of my dreams, I have a child with her? me...a dad?.. Can I even love her more than I already do?” 

Not saying hajime is a cat or cat spirit, XD. I;m saying the cat looks like a baby wrapped in mommy’s hands while daddy’s trying figure out how to hold him & how he gonna give his life for both mommy & baby~~~

Since this picture was taken during winter in highschool when kyo & tohru were dating openly in the school. Who do think took it?

Yuki? ( I doubt yuki would be kyoru’s photographer! XD).

Hana? (Nope! She’ll ask kyo to take her picture & Kazum first! XD).

Uo? ( Maybe. I can see her do it).

Momiji? (nope! too cruel to ask him! )

Haru? (maybe, he’ll do it!).

kyo’s two class buddies? (maybe).

Kazuma? (awww! they came to see him after school & he took the pic).

Shigure? ( He’ll be happy to, but after many teasing XD)

Kisa? ( oh yes!!!!! she came to visit & snapped the pic<3).

There is a drawing by Takaya on her twitter, which looks like a new manga panel snippet of kyo & tohru, the body language looks like after dating because tohru is happily twirling around kyo & there are huge empty speech bubbles!!

any idea what is this? Is this related to the extra manga one-page attached to the dvd sales? 

I thought season 3 manga page was haru & Rin, no?

Kyo & Tohru’s Family Pictures

Okay, so we have Kyo’s juzu beads; the Zodiac figurines with the cat; the picture of Katsuya, Kyoko, and Tohru as a little kid; and then Kyo and Tohru’s family photos.

Looks like Kyo’s sons both inherited his hair color, though Hajime’s and his brother’s are a little duller. Meanwhile, it looks like their daughter is mini-Tohru.

That’s definitely a picture of Hajime on the left since he went to Kaibara and looks exactly like him.

Left to right is Daughter, Kyo, Son #2, Tohru, Hajime. I wonder if they ended up naming the son and daughter after anyone in particular.

I choose to believe that Kyo tends to wear traditional Japanese clothing most of the time since he’s shown wearing a kimono like Kazuma as an old man.

I’m pretty damned sure this is Kyo and Tohru from high school, seeing that they’re in uniform, so likely during winter break during their third year since we didn’t get to see ANY OF IT really.  (I’m kinda bitter about that.)

Also choosing to believe this is Kyo and Tohru rather than Hajime and his wife.
