The Wormwoods don't like Matilda's hobbies, independance, and blunt personality. Yet love Mike's abrasiveness, usefulness, and lack of integrity. Unlike Matilda, Mike would use his brains to help his dad cheat people at the dealership.

so I haven’t seen the movie Hoot since 2006/2007 when it came out but I just watched it again and omg?? it ends with the two boys walking together on a beach at sunset and basically becoming eco-warriors? like idk if the heavy gay undertones were intentional since it’s a children’s movie and all but it’s a beautiful ending
