The doctor ordered me on bed rest for the next few weeks and insisted both the baby and I would feel better having some extra oxygen & nebulizer treatments. So now whenever I’m in bed, on comes the nasal cannula and 5L/min of 30% extra O2. I’m allowed to change the flow rate when I need to - so I can make the oxygen purer, but I’m liking the higher flow. Especially after a nebulizer treatment... it clears my head a bit.
I’m also still struggling to manage my migraines, so I’ve continued to use my Aspen Vista hard collar. My neurologist thinks I’ve probably got a tethered cord or chiari malformation. We’re looking into having a vertical mri done to try and get a diagnosis, but it’ll probably have to wait until after I deliver. Surprisingly though, I think since starting the oxygen treatments, I’ve noticed a slight reduction in my migraine symptoms. It might just be a placebo thing, but I’ll take it!
Tomorrow I have a couple appointments to get to, and I’m looking forward to hopefully getting a wheelchair to use for the rest of my pregnancy. The obstetrician suggested that it would probably make things easier for me, and take some strain off my hips and back. I think we’ll look at both manual and power chairs and see what best suits my needs. If I’m honest, I’d love a power chair. But we’ll see what transpires... stay tuned 😉
