Ya’ll heard bout the possibility of a S2 ‘twist’? What if there were multiple verdicts?
No CHILD should be given the dark gift - Louis is guilty, but his punishment is not to d1e, but to ‘undo’ his sins… wait for it.
No vampire should destroy another - Claudia is partially guilty for transgressions against Lestat but it’s attempted murd3r - since Lestat is still alive.
All her resentment stem from being made as a child. Woe! Pity! The precious innocent who had no control over her actions. The mock judge/jury ‘grants’ her restitution - no CHILD should be given the dark gift. So they forcibly MAKE her an ADULT… que….the botched head swap surgery and destroy her body. Yellow dress moment still applies. But ah-ha! She’s alive, but a misshapen monster after, not able to pass for human anymore.
She begs for d3ath after, but the coven will not grant it as rule #1. Mock mercy.
So then it falls to Louis… to undo his sins. This was the end the coven sought all along. Louis does the unthinkable out of love. This traumatises him beyond what he can bear and nearly drives him to insanity.
Armand, as he’s in love with princess Louis and not wanting a repeat of Nicki, has no choice but to “control” his memories and “manages” Louis thereafter in hopes that he would one day heal.

What about the cute scene when Louis insists on going to speak to Fareed and Seth and Lestat was super reluctant but did everything as told anyway? And everyone agreeing to meet at Fareed’s including Thorne texting ahead because he knew that if Louis asked Lestat for something, it will be done. Lestat then fretting over the possibility that of Fareed or Seth becoming impatient with Louis which would make him (Lestat) furious.
Even right at the beginning of the book, Lestat felt he had to clarify that he went to New Orleans to punish those rouge vampires for terrorising another vampire and NOT because of the ripped painting that belonged to Louis.
If it weren’t for Lestat hosting The Core, you’d think Louis held all the power at court. 🤭
Hi! Realms of Atlantis really is a joy for Loustat shippers, the scene at Cafè du Monde where Lestat thinks that despite the court and all the old immortal friends he managed to reunite he still feels lonely and then Louis arrives and tells him that he is ready to join him at the Court and that he doesn't want to fight his feelings anymore...🥰
Hi! ❣️
Yes! Those last three books are worth it for the Loustat content alone. Prince Lestat And The Realms Of Atlantis contains some of my most favorite Loustat moments of the entire Chronicles. From Lestat aching for Louis to everyone knowing Lestat needs Louis to properly function as Prince, this book is just everything in terms of Loustat. 🥺😩🤌🏽♥️
Lestat pondering about the demands of the court and being Prince and hosting Amel:
And I had built up this secret fantasy that the one person in all the world who would let me moan about it was Louis. Ah, Louis…
Amel telling Lestat that something happens to him in regards to Louis that doesn’t happen with any other being:
“Something happens to your senses when you look on Louis. Behold Louis. I don’t know. I see him more vividly than I sometimes see the others. I see a blood drinker. I think I see a whole life in Louis when I see Louis through your eyes. I want to know whole lives. I want to know big things, whole things, long things.”
I smiled. Did he know I was smiling?
Lestat worrying over Amel trying to hurt Louis:
This troubled me, and I wasn’t sure quite why. What if he suddenly wanted to hurt Louis? What if he became jealous of Louis — of my affection for Louis?
Like you mentioned, the entirety of Chapter 4 and their reunion in New Orleans, but particularly this moment when Louis literally takes Lestat’s breath away:
Louis was standing in the door of the room opposite, across the hall. I drew in my breath. I didn’t say a word….I was unable to speak. He’d put on these clothes for me, and I knew it….I could scarcely breathe. I sensed he understood. He crossed the hall and put his arms around me and kissed me on the lips. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” he asked. Nothing mocking or mean in the tone. Shocked. Unable to respond.
The “You Were There” speech:
Tumblr media
Amel telling Lestat that Louis loves him:
“But I love looking at him through your eyes and I know what I see. He loves you so much more than he lets on. And others know that Louis loves you, and they see his love, and they’re glad he’s finally here.”
That was more reassuring than I cared to admit.
Lestat pondering about all the physical changes to Louis over the years:
But nothing changed the wall of telepathic silence that fell between master and fledgling. Yet I felt closer to him than to any other visible being in the world.
Louis holding Lestat’s hand the entire time his heart is stopped:
Louis closed the lid of my coffin and seated himself there. He was close enough to me that I could take his hand and I did. A memory came back to me, a memory of the first time I ever saw him in New Orleans….Silence except for the steady rhythm of my heart. I opened my eyes….Louis was sitting on the coffin, and he was holding my right hand.
Lestat saying Louis was the only one who knew the pain of the ordeal with Amel while hinting at the fact they are sharing blood:
Now others were curious about the fate of Amel, obviously, but I don’t think anyone felt the pain I felt. Louis knew what I couldn’t confide, and he was respectful of it, and comforting and patient. Louis never failed me.
Finally, Lestat thanking Amel for helping to finally reunite him with Louis:
I fought my own tears. “You brought me together with Louis, you did that, and you gave Louis back to me. I have Louis now because of you.”
This fucking book. 😭♥️

He doesn’t remember. He doesn’t remember any of THIS. So he’s presented with evidence of something he not only doesn’t remember, something that contradicts his version of events.
Perhaps the omitted truth in the Ep5 fight?
Missing pages from Claudia’s diary documenting their disagreement post fratricide or the severity of his hallucinations?
What if they did finish the interview back in ‘73? Armand made it seem like they didn’t. Now wouldn’t that be the mind-f#@ks to end all mind-f@%cks? 🫢
Better quality of the clip!

Building on my theory about Rashid (based on recent developments, if you haven’t read it, it’s on Twitter, or X or whatever it’s called). Hear me out before you flame me!
Maybe originally Armand was away and wasn’t going to be away for a bit. Louis was planning to do the interview and Real!Rashid was doing all the boring logistics and arrangements including the correspondence with Daniel.
Perhaps Armand was at the Night Island overseeing stuff when he gets wind of what Louis is planning and returns just in time.
Daniel’s already on they way. That’s why they can’t change the name. That’s why Armand had to play Rashid so he could watch over events.
That would also answer some of the questions about why Armand would let this interview happen in the first place if he thinks it was a suic1de plan.
That’s why he looks so put upon.
He serves a God. It’s an honour to serve. Is that a mantra to himself more than anything as his patience for the charade wears thin? “Will these troubles never cease?” Wasn’t that the Latin comment at the end of Ep 6?
“Love of my life” was said to Armand and not for Daniel’s benefit, but an unspoken apology from Louis to Armand for putting him through this.
Also, which god - Lestat lost in his wanderings, is he Akasha’s right hand man at this time? Or does he already have the core?
That’s why now that cat is out of the bag, Louis looks like a chastised child in the trailer…
Armand has told him repeatedly that this won’t end well. He will have an outburst. He isn’t ready for this. But Daniel is dying - the diagnosis has wound the clock. If Louis doesn’t do it now, he won’t get the chance.
In effect, Armand is playing the role of David in Merrick. Dissuading him from doing what is ultimately self-harm, but is ultimately unable to stop events. Daniel is playing the role of Merrick - connecting Louis to Claudia again via the diaries. Daniel will aid and abet thinking it’s what’s best for Louis, thinking what we’re all thinking - that Armand is the bad guy here, but will come to regret it when things conclude with the inevitable.
No imma go wild here, brace yourself 🫨 Stop ✋ HERE if you don’t want to go down this rabbit hole with me….
Louis does what he does, but per “Merrick” it’s incomplete. They (Daniel & Armand) with the help of Dr Fareed keep Louis’ immolated body safe in ‘stasis’. Daniel is wrecked with guilt, also like everyone who’s come into contact with Louis, has fallen for the tragic figure - sufficiently seduced by the tale!
Tables flip - Initially against it, Armand now desperately wants the book published. Daniel per above, agrees. They rush the book out in record time, hoping to get Lestat’s attention. Maybe they’ve changed the lore in this series, no point to bring Louis back if he comes back as a mindless revenant. Only Lestat can tell if Louis is still in there… drumroll pls 🥁 🥁 🥁 …via the shared bond, the unseen chord…. 🫨
Super chuffed with this theory. Feel free to poke holes or run with it. 🤭
Usual disclaimers apply: not book compliant … yadda, yadda. Doesn’t align with your view, sure, move on. Nothing I say will change what’s already filmed/written, no need for 🔥. Let your hair down, live a little, speculate out of your comfort zone, this is all just for fun. Last of all, it’s FICTION.

So this is the inspiration for the Theatre des Vampyres… I mean could it be any more perfect?? 🤩
Plays so hot, audiences need private boxes? 🥵
Themes of psychological horrors and “altered states”?
The “corruption of science”! The mad doctor! Those who know Claudia’s real fate told in TVArmand… sound familiar??
Does Claudia and in particular already fragile Louis even stand a chance here? Buckle up, we’re in for a ride!

You share a heart with him….
I’ve been thinking about this theme a lot too! and how it could be used in the series. Depending on how QOTD is done, I have this scene in my head where Louis makes a very good case against whatever crazy Akasha is proposing and she senses her control/influence over Lestat wavering. She pulls the last lever she has and manipulates (mind gift) Lestat who attacks Louis with his battle axe (a weapon which we know he favours in later books). He pins Louis to the ground, axe cracking into Louis’ sternum. Armand is screaming in the background. Marius prevents him from interfering.
Then he reaches in to close his hand literally around Louis’ beating heart 💗. The familiar rhythmic heartbeat gives him pause. Louis, still conscious and in agony, uses this moment - stops pushing back to reach up with a trembling hand, cups Lestat’s cheek, whispers tenderly, “My heart is yours. Always has been….” signalling his acceptance, his end at his makes hand. How tragically romantic, how fitting.
The beating heart stutters and stops in Lestat’s hand. The shock drains the anger from him and consequently the kernel of strong emotion that Akasha was using to control Lestat. The red mist lifts and he’s horrified at what he’s done, Louis unmoving under him, his fingers around a still heart.
In an unthinking moment, his anger surges and crests but this time directed back at Akasha- the battle axe flies across the room - she deflects it easily with her mind gift. But that moment of distraction was what Mekare needed, she catches the still airborne axe, swings it back around catching Akasha from behind, her head come clean off. The severing reverberates through the vampire web, everyone drops like deadweight. Time slows/becomes sluggish and syrupy. Only the ancients and strongest are able to move.
Mekare and Margaret takes the brain. The ancients move in to drain the body. Marius takes the heart and beckons Lestat. He’s exhausted, heavy limbed, still cradling Louis’ body, barely able to move but forces himself to crawl to Marius anyway. He drinks the heart dry, not wasting the powerful blood. As he comes down from the swoon, he instinctually looks back to Louis’ body; drops the expended pulp of Akasha’s heart.
Armand is back on his knees now too, as are the younger ones slowly coming back to life. Then as if drawn by a siren call, both Armand and Lestat make their way towards Louis.……

Oncle Vervain the Voodoo Priest or The Universe c🐔ck-blocking Lestat…
[Pilot script read - deleted character]
Oncle Vervain’s deleted character is a vodoo priest that’s well known about town and the way he’s written makes him seem like he appears at critical junctures of Louis’ life, particularly during winter of 1910. Maybe he’s Louis’ guardian spirit, he might be the only other mortal to stand their ground against Lestat. Read on if you’re interested.
Scene #1 - Right at the start of Ep1, he tells Louis that bad spirits are on the loose that night, just before peg-legged Doris comes running up to Louis’ car to tell him about Bricks and the Alderman . Well… we know who was roaming about the same streets that fateful night.
Scene #2 - Whilst Louis waits for Paul to finish his confession (different day to the first church visit), he steps outside to smoke. Oncle Vervain happens by and Louis asks for some gris gris (good luck) for his card game at FairPlay that night. We know whose going to be there don’t we - even if Louis doesn’t. Oncle V. obliges by sprinkling a cornmeal circle and telling Louis to step inside it. Louis does as told - but Paul catches him and disapproves. Well the gris gris worked… in that Louis certainly won big in that card game, but maybe it was a lil too strong, cause he pulled in more than just money that night 😉.
Scene #3 - Now this is Louis’ LAST CHANCE to heed the universe’s FINAL warning. Just before Louis can answer Lestat’s invitation for a nightcap - Oncle Vervain intervenes, coincidentally just happening to walk along Royale that exact time of night. Ah! Our oblivious Louis tries to introduce him to Lestat and maybe even showing off his new friend a little (?), telling him Lestat’s got “powers” too.
Oncle Vervain catches the heebie-jeebies from Lestat and blatantly warns Louis right in Lestat’s face. An actual stare down ensues 🫣. Lestat is not happy at being so abruptly cock-blocked, especially since he’d just narrowly salvaged the situation at dinner earlier. Right at his front door too!
And our boy Louis? Bless his naive soul, tries to defend the vampire. It’s the second time that night someone has an adverse reaction to Lestat. First was Paul and the “birds” in his head (my standing theory is those voices were spirts and Paul just happens to be an “open door”). The Universe is probably going “How many signs do we have to send your way??!” - but the attraction between them is too strong… or Louis was just horny, cause he just shrugs off any lingering doubt and plunges straight back into to arms of the devil 🤭.
—————————
I almost wished they kept Oncle Vervain, if only just to see Lestat’s face during the stare down! Lestat has been wooing, pining, lusting; planning this night for months - he’d fight any deity/spirit for a taste of Louis. Would have been even funnier if Oncle Vervain was immune to Lestat mind tricks and does his own clap back snapping Lestat out of his own spell - how badass cool would that be?? And all the while Louis trying to break the tension from the outside (JA’s face acting is just sublime, pity we don’t get to see this).
Of all the deleted characters, Oncle Vervain is my favourite for it’s potential. He injects into the story the mysticism of New Orleans’ rich cultural and religious amalgamations. Lestat might be divorced from Christianity but he should not underestimate other ancient cultures with better knowledge of the practical supernatural. He could be used to humble Lestat, to tell him that he’s not the only supernatural power in the city far from it - don’t get too comfortable.

A Pet and Seven-course Dinner [Pilot script read - deleted scene]
Quite a bit happening in these deleted scenes:
#1 - The Animal Market makes its first appearance!
#2 - The boys have reached that stage in a relationship where one party goes “Babes, I want a pet! 🥰”. And the other party goes “🤨?” - but they go adopt the pet anyway.
#3 - Seven course dinner at Tujagues’s. The restaurant still exists! And there’s even a resident ghost. FFS Lestat! Did you have an off-menu dish while you were there?! 😅

Further Lestat Unhinged-ness [Pilot script read -deleted scene]
Getting stabbed really turns him on 🤭. Stabbed FIVE times and he’s licking his own blood off the shaft of Louis’ blade? Can this get any more suggestive??
Louis is like subconsciously filing that knowledge away for Episode 6.

Unhinged Lestat [Pilot script read - deleted bit]
Wished they kept it in. Foreshadowing the drama Louis’ life is about to become. Ha!
But I get it, it would have ruined the mood of the scene. Especially when you’re trying to convince the boy you love to marry you. 🤭

“…I protect Louis from himself”
Re-reading IWTV… got to the immediate aftermath. There so much happening in this chapter and the devil’s in the details that I’ve forgotten 🤯. ~📚 SPOILERS ahead ~
JA has proven he’s got the chops to convey these raw, heavy, emotions onto screen. The aftermath of Claudia’s d3ath nearly destroys Louis. This is going to be a climatic, complicated, heartbreaking scene and I’m expecting it would top the end of EP7. And Assad is going to have to match that.
Because beyond Louis cycling between grief and anger, Armand hurries to do several things immediately by undeniably asserting some SERIOUS mental influence. He’s pumping Louis with a heavy dose of mental rohypnol arguably to “protect Louis from himself”, but simultaneously taking advantage of Louis’ vulnerable state to absolve himself of any involvement.
Louis fights this influence until he exacts his revenge, and then the spark goes out of him. The shows’ Dubai dynamic seems to be a continuation of this push-pull. I think modern Armand is struggling to keep Louis in check. Book!Louis is much more passive and simply dismisses Armand, but TV!Louis has more fire in him and we might be heading for a dramatic divorce 🫢.
I’m m dying for S2 …. 🫠😭

Uuggghhh… I need season 2 NOW! 🫠

BABETTE [Original Pilot script read]
Her character did not make it into the final version, but it seems there were longer plans for her as Louis’ (one sided?) love interest.
I get why she was cut, there was already so much going on, but I can’t help but wonder how that would alter the story if she was kept in. Unlike Lily, Babettes’s social standing makes her a realistic marriage match for Louis and therefore a much bigger obstacle for Lestat. A readily available legitimate path of least resistance for Louis should he chose the route that would have him suppress his sexuality and please his family - particularly his mother if he were to atone for the grief of Paul’s death.
It would be much more difficult to get rid of Babette too as her disappearance would be missed and investigated - unlike most of Lestat’s usual victims (including Lily), that were on the fringes of society or just passing through with no local ties.
How far would Lestat’s jealousy take him? Such juicy, angsty possibilities!
————
Deleted - Photograph scene
In this scene the two families are having their photographs taken. There are hints from the mothers duLac and Freniere to match the two. Louis and a Babette seem to have a hint of chemistry. 😉
Grace’s Wedding
Babette wins the ring charm (like the bouquet toss) suggesting she’s next to be married. Paul catches her looking at Louis… 🤭The lady Paul teases Louis about on the roof scene was supposed to be Babette. There was supposed to be a Louis & Babette dancing scene, with Paul teasing him about the ring charm as they do. Mama duLac and Freniere agree on something watching them….
Paul’s Funeral
The ENTIRE exchange between Louis and Grace at the cemetery was supposed to be with BABETTE providing him comfort in the wake of his mother’s rejection - the whole time with Lestat going “Come to me” in his head. 😖 The juxtaposition of opposing paths is so poignant!
Poor Louis is one roiling cauldron of emotional devastation and conflict.
He then runs to Bricktop to exorcise Lestat, which doesn’t work - then runs to Lily (dead) - finally back to the religion that he’s already left ages ago. Whooaah…. extra weighty stuff here.

Paul du Lac. A speculation about his mental illness.
We know that the Pointe du Lac’s are practically neighbours with the Mayfairs. There was even a small interaction written into the pilot (deleted scenes where Louis greets them as they pass the Mayfair house on their walk to St Mary’s.
We’re not told explicitly, but suppose Paul had the gift of “sight 👁️”? If he can see spirits, ghosts, etc. what would he have seen at the Mayfairs? We see Lasher able to shapeshift (or trick the mind to seeing what physical form he wants you to see) in one of the AMC trailers. Suppose Paul has seen some of this? Would this gift have driven him crazy. Maybe he was already schizophrenic, or maybe “the birds” were something more supernatural 👻…? I wonder too if Amel’s residual aura can be seen in all vampires by those with sensitive sight.
If we believe Paul has the ‘gift’, then it’s easy to step into his shoes. He’s practically surrounded, maybe even plagued by terrifying things he cannot make sense of. And with the appearance of Lestat, it would even seem to Paul that they were closing in. His religion makes only one provision, one explanation - demons. Demons clawing at the edges of his reality. Where they were once just spirits, they are now corporeal (Lestat). He alone is aware, he is his family’s only hope for salvation. He tries to warn them but they ignore him at every turn. What burden that must be (I think I’m paraphrasing someone 😉).
Would he long for death as Lestat said? Yes I think so, though more in the way he hoped God would take him, ease his burden. Whether he planned it, or whether gripped by a sudden hopeless morbid desperation - we have to admit he was in a fragile state and logic/rational thought can’t be factored into his decision to walk off the roof.
Heck for all we know, Paul might have been HAPPY - in his mind, his work was done; Grace was taken care of, Louis was no longer under the spell of the demon. He could now “ascend”, god called to him.
Maybe Paul’s the crossover character that the show runners teased is going to appear in Mayfair witches!
——-
Note: Yes I know Paul is devout Catholic and suicide is a mortal sin - some reason people feel this has any bearing in his decision. A thought to chew on - a plea of insanity argues “that the defendant is not responsible for their actions due to an episodic psychiatric disease at the time of the criminal act.” They cannot stand trial. Devout Catholic or not, Paul is not sane. We cannot view or judge his actions/decisions through a rational lens.

Lily’s Fate - A speculation 😬
Lily, I’d like to point out, whilst she is fond of Louis, she still ‘belonged’ to Tom Anderson. As much as we like to think she would not betray his friendship, it’s more than likely she would be forced to divulge what she knew about Louis’ personal or business dealings should Tom find it beneficial to ‘ask’. How much hold Tom had over her is an unknown. Is she an independent contractor? Or more likely under some form of indenture?
Tom might look like he treats his girls fairly, but servitude is still a form of slavery. And while he is outwardly congenial to Louis, any capitalist baron worth his salt keeps tabs on the competition and looks for opportunities (weakness) that might favour him.
I wonder if Lily really di3d at the time? I’d like to think Lestat ‘bought’ her freedom - paid her handsomely to leave town, then fakes her d3ath. Louis doesn’t know until weeks later, he never sees her body as far as we know. He was TOLD by Miss Carol what happened to Lily, and where did Miss Carol get her information from? A policeman? A member of the family? How deeply is she going to verify that statement? Does she identify the body? The entirely of S1 is a story told from someone’s point of view - half the context.
Lestat is not doing this for any altruistic reasons. This we know, conveniently removes her as one of the few friends Louis had - Lestat moving the chess pieces around an setting the board in his favour.
And why would Lily agree to this arrangement? An opportunity to free herself?/family? (we don’t know what are her circumstances) AND if she really was loyal to Louis, removing herself from the equation is an easy justification. She can’t be forced to spy on him or share his private information. Whether she comes to a decision on her own or with a little mental nudge from Lestat doesn’t matter. Outcome is the same.
I hope we learn more come time for Lestat to tell his side. Precedence is set by the last few chapters of TVL when Lestat laments the misunderstandings that took place and explains some of it.

Text from Armand to Lestat:
Inspired by the scene in TVL where Armand comes to Lestat to tell him that Louis has left and by the excerpt from Merrick below - I thought what how would this scene be interpreted in modern day? In keeping with millennial tendencies, I think he would send a text. 😁
It crosses over to fanfic but what do you think Lestat's response would be? Aside from the obvious "F*ck off imp!"
“I thought of how much I loved Louis, and had ever since I had become Lestat's fledgling. I thought of how deeply I depended upon him, and what I would do for him. It was the love of Louis which had at times crippled Lestat, and enslaved Armand. Louis need have no consciousness of his own beauty, of his own obvious and natural charm”
Just a bit of fun, don't ask me how Armand got hold of Lestat's number. Or that Lestat should be in the ground. I speculate that in this series, present day Lestat is living in new Orleans and is starting up his band. I havre another post on TV plot speculation if you’re curious.

“Is your medication taking?”
My speculation? That’s not Levodopa he’s being transfused with. 😬 It’s vampire blood plasma concentrate/concoction.
Further speculation? Pharma Bros - Seth, Gregory Collingsworth and Dr Fareed have isolated the healing properties of vampire blood. It’s not just real estate that they profit from. It’s carefully formulated to not be a permanent cure. It only masks the progression. And if the patient stops taking it, the symptoms/disease come raging back to what it would be had it progressed naturally - the worst withdrawal one can imagine.
So patients have to come back continually. What better way to guarantee demand? Their clients; oligarchs, cartels, politicians, billionaires. Aside from steady flow of money, they control power and influence by controlling access to the drug. “Where do you meet the Devil and what are the terms?”
Daniel swaps one addiction for another. It’s canon compliant, Armand has him hooked and he has to come back repeatedly. 😈 It’s an interpretation the Devils Minion arc.
