I think these are really cute, though I think I prefer the original 2012 renders over the 1987 remake renders. The 2012 boys have more expressions on their faces in my opinion.
going crazy over this new tmnt calendar bc it’s themed about the 1987 turtles but some illustrations are straight up remakes of some 2012 renders
how obsessed am I with this show to notice almost right away? No idea
I will NEVER not laugh at this part. Mikey's realization that he's eating his adoptive sister's scales, how his eyes rolled to the back of his head in disgust, and THE FREAKING WADDLE AWAY.
After finding Parasitica has been leaked because of its UK airing, I recall watching that episode over and over a few times. Definitely was a creepy episode, but not one that disturbed me.
Of Rats and Men didn't have, to me personally, a lot of moments that would really fit in this post as a "disturbing episode". If anything, I liked the episode for simply how Splinter was able to confront his fear of being controlled by the Rat King.
Now to Buried Secrets.... I've only seen that episode once, and indeed, the second half was probably the creepiest thing to come out of the show. EVER. For a while, I kept wondering what became of Mikey, Donnie, and Leo after Mom-Thing got them, because surely they weren't killed from assimilation like in the Thing (which heavily inspired the episode). I just went and assumed the guys were likely absorbed into Mom-Thing Akira style (the scene where Tetsuo grows in size and absorbs Kaneda and Kaori, the latter being killed from being crushed and that scene was also parodied and referenced in Rise)
I didn't find Race with the Demon to be all that scary nor disturbing. Sure, seeing Donnie get eaten and possessed by the mutant car was pretty frightening imagery, but... the show is no stranger to unique mutant transformations, both on and off screen. If anything, Speed Demon Donnie really reminded me of an old school cartoon character, especially with Rob Paulsen voicing him (and this is apparently his favorite episode from TMNT 2012)!
Lastly, Darkest Plight. I know this post specifically meant Splinter's arc in the episode, and yes, it is indeed disturbing, but it's in a way that's not like Buried Secrets which is straight up horror. The dark aspects of Darkest Plight stem from psychological horror. Even if I got spoiled of Splinter seeing Rat King's corpse, I knew he had died, because come on, a shriveled-up man surviving that fall??? Very unlikely. Plus, I think Splinter had a fever which added to how this was psychological. He was hallucinating his dead enemy tormenting him at a bottom of this deep pit. This would be an episode I'd go back and rewatch without being terribly disturbed by the body horror imagery from Buried Secrets.
Brotherly love at its finest. This moment is definitely a highlight of their relationship.
something i love about leo and raph's relationship is that they have never said "I hate you" to each other, but quite the opposite, despite the rivalry and their fights, their brotherhood is stronger than everything else🥺
I'll never ever shut up about TMNT 2012. Even if I may not say it, I can still think it.
Shout out to all the TMNT fans still rambling on and on about those turtles, some shows may have ended like almost 30yrs ago while others 4 or so, some pieces of media may only be one movie long while others an entire comic series, but you still keep going.
Well, she became a princess at the end of the movie after marrying Naveen. Of course her restaurant is gonna be named "Tiana's PALACE". Something I've caught since I first saw this movie in 2009/2010.
