Tonight I bleed from my chest Although every night I try like the rest So how could one see it's my best For here i've had no rest unlike the rest Finding what fits best I see I'm not like the rest I put myself to this test Destroying myself from inside this chest I no longer want this as my quest So for now I'll lay this to rest

So tonight my friend said I'm suprised none of us have made it big, are well of enough off to say I got this. To turn to the ones i love and shelter them when a safe haven seems immenent. Whether my situation or perception I knew he meant myself. For the personal loss I am sorry that I've lost more than I knew I was giving for another. But I swear from here, finding every inch of flow I once I had again it is only magnified maybe smaller I. We se but just a stronger tense. I dear to get us out of here. I will give you all a life where your imagination is all you need to carry you. That is enough because then you are more than living but creating.

Just because I am always here, doesn’t mean that I will always stay. Mind you, it may take three seconds to leave me but more than a year to find someone as patient as me.

I want to apologize to all the women I have called beautiful before I’ve called them intelligent or brave. I am sorry I made it sound as though something as simple as what you’re born with is all you have to be proud of when you have broken mountains with your wit. From now on I will say things like you are resilient, or you are extraordinary not because I don’t think you’re beautiful, but because I need you to know you are more than that.

“Destroying Angel” by Michael Whelan, (1982)
From Michael Whelan on this piece:
“All the concepts I submitted for the 1982 Year’s Best Horror Stories cover were strong. If I had tried to guess which one would be chosen, the one that became this painting would have been my last guess. But Don Wollheim saw the possibilities in the concept better than I did and selected it to develop for the cover.
For an allegory on the use of opium and its derivatives, specifically heroin, I posed the Angel of Death amid a field of poppies, offering a false mask of friendship. He is accompanied by diverse symbols and various accoutrements of the drug user. He wears on his head a single wing, representing false freedom of thought and the illusion of flight, and he wears a crown of Destroying Angel mushrooms. The tree is meant to suggest the dendritic branching of blood vessels, but it is withered. And the background consists of a purple haze–a reference to the reason I got to ruminating on the whole subject to begin with, the death of Jimi Hendrix.”

‘The stars,’ she whispers, 'blindly run; A web is wov'n across the sky; From out waste places comes a cry, And murmurs from the dying sun: 'And all the phantom, Nature, stands - With all the music in her tone, A hollow echo of my own, - 'A hollow form with empty hands.’ And shall I take a thing so blind, Embrace her as my natural good; Or crush her, like a vice of blood, Upon the threshold of the mind?

Poetry is like shot-silk with many glancing colours. Every reader must find his own interpretation according to his ability, and according to his sympathy with the poet.
