In the Polish village of Zalipie, all the buildings are covered in painted flowers. Over 100 years ago, when everyone had wood-burning stoves, someone painted a flower on their ceiling to cover a soot stain, and it became a trend. In 1948, the town started an annual painted cottage competition to help recover psychologically from WWII, and now all the homes, churches, bridges and barns are covered in flowers – inside and out. COVID-19 support chain

We’ve got to support each other in this trying time. Are you unable to work right now and need some money for groceries or other necessities? feel free to link a PayPal or other funding source so that people can give if they’re able. Do you know of some resources in your area that can help people with food assistance with childcare a med school and business closures? Leave them here. I’ll start with a few:

GoNoodle has lots of fun and educational music and dance videos designed to entertain gradeschool children. They have pledge to uploading some new content this week specifically for the kids that are stuck at home to have some distraction and entertainment.

Several media companies including Spectrum and Comcast are offering free temporary Internet packages for the income families who need to school online.

On that note, here’s a list of free online resources to assist with virtual schooling

Here are some food resources for Fairfax County public schools offering free meals to lower income families. I’m sure the other school districts have similar resources available, please add to this list if you come across them.

Useful COVID-19 resources

It’s important to take this pandemic seriously, but panic doesn’t help, increasing support measures so that people can safely do what’s needed to protect themselves does. Here are two things I found out about recently and I’ll try to add to this list as I come across more valuable resources:

U-Haul is offering free self storage for students who have been displaced by Covid 19 as their universities have moved online learning

Comcast is offering a free Internet essentials package for 60 days for those who need to switch to online learning in both universities and low income public schools

The panic over COVID-19 causing people to hoard shit unnecessarily means I can't find medical supplies (like disinfecting alcohol wipes) without paying an obnoxiously exorbitant amount.

Generally healthy, able-bodied people don't need masks, exam gloves, or alcohol swabs to protect themselves against COVID-19. But chronically ill people and their caretakers do need those supplies to live their everyday lives.

Calm the fuck down and wash your fucking hands, ableds.

It seems like its more of a "golden age" set of stories. The Jedi of the Prequel Era were flawed because they lost their way, not necessarily because the Jedi path was inherently bad.

You see this in real world religious orders. The Benedictines of the high middle ages were a far cry from the order established by Benedict. Which is how we end up with Cistercians and Trappists. As well as the mendicant orders like Dominicans and Franciscans.

I'm reserving judgement. The talent pool they have is a good one. Whether it yields anything i care about...well, that's why public libraries exist.

Would this be strictly in the WBW? I have some ideas, using characters from Resistance, that would help Rey on her path. (Specifically, Mika Grey would be a fantastic Sybil to help her find the Underworld.)

Dude like what if we just made our own animated series for the World between Worlds Ben Solo? Like I’ll sign the petition to get him back but why wait for Disney? We have so many talented artist and writers right here. We could easily do it. Maybe if we had to—do the episodes in multiple animation styles and stagger the releases to account for the cease and desist orders...or go old school Star Trek and mail each other the dvds on the down low.

All I’m saying is this doesn’t have to be the end. Why wait around and hope that Disney will give me the Star Wars I want to see? What if I just made that Star Wars?

Yes! Everything, even the lineage reveal, could have been saved if the way they defeated Palps was with the unified power of love. Either Palps is given a redemption of sorts and accepts death gracefully, or his attempt to soul-suck backfires because he is destroyed by the love he rejects (kind of like how C.S. Lewis proposes the light of heaven and fires of hell are the same because if you reject God's Love it's torment to feel It.) Gross and icky that it somehow restored him to a position of power.

The Dyad was their secret weapon!! Palpatine couldn’t possess Rey, Rey couldn’t be  Palpatine because she already was Ben by marriage! Their secret marriage saved them!! It was reverse Anidala, whose secret marriage destroyed them!!

(But Palpatine really really really really really shouldn’t have been able to use their bond, Rey should have taken Ben’s hand right there and that should have saved them from the life-sucking, the rest is weird and icky and backwards and wrong).

If the Sequel Trilogy had portrayed an abusive relationship between Kylo Ren &Rey, here’s how it would have gone down:

Kylo: it’s just us now 

Rey: you’re a monster! 

Kylo: hey… that’s not nice. 

Rey: ??? 

Kylo: why are you being so mean to me

Rey: you KILLED HAN SOLO 

Kylo: i had to, he was about to kill me 

Rey: n…no he wasn't 

Kylo: in fact he’s tried to kill me many times before 

Rey: that’s…he didn’t have a weapon 

Kylo: he was about to push me off the catwalk 

Rey: he would never do that 

Kylo: oh and you know that because? you’ve known him for a day and a half? 

Rey: 

Kylo: i actually knew him. why would i kill my dad 

Rey: I DONT KNOW WHY 

Kylo: exactly. you’d rather just assume i’m evil? that i killed him just because?

Kylo: you don’t know what he did to me… when i was just a kid.

Kylo: of course. 

[over the course of a few months, while training her:]

Kylo: your strength is unlike anything I’ve seen before. 

Rey: really?

Kylo: you’re stronger than I was at your age, apprentice

Rey: oh, that’s not true

Kylo: you are. don’t ever sell yourself short. I won’t tolerate it. 

Rey: yes master. i apologize master.

Kylo: you’ll be the most powerful being in the galaxy. you’re learning so fast.

Rey: you really think so?

Kylo: I know so. think how proud your parents will be when they finally meet you. 

Rey smiles

[at the resistance]

Finn: Rey, where do you go everytime you leave the base? 

Rey: err, training

Finn: why do you not train at the base?

Rey: it’s jedi stuff. you wouldn’t understand.

Finn: …okay. I just feel like you spend more and more time training, and we barely even see each other anymore

Rey: I’m trying to be better, Finn. I feel happy for the first time in a long time

Finn: I just miss you. is there a reason you can’t train at the base?

Rey: I… don’t want you to judge me

Finn: omg Rey i would never

Rey: ok look I’ll tell you but it’s a secret you have to promise not to tell anyone

Rey, crying: HOW DARE YOU. HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT. 

Finn: Rey I’m sorry I’m just??? it’s the truth??

Rey: KYLO’S FELT THEM IN THE FORCE. I think if I should trust anyone to tell me if my parents are alive or not, ITS HIM. NOT YOU. 

Finn: I’m sorry, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to-

Rey: NO. enough. I’m leaving, keep your worries to yourself. 

[with Kylo Ren, training]

Kylo: you’re agitated, I can feel it. what happened.

Rey: it’s nothing

Kylo: you know you can trust me. you can tell me anything. i hate to see you like this

Rey: it’s nothing master. i had a fight with finn. 

Kylo: what about

Rey:

Kylo: it was about me, wasn’t it

Rey: yes, but

Kylo: it’s okay. i’m used to it. people rarely give me the benefit of the doubt.

Rey: it’s not just that… i feel like he doesn’t trust me, like he doesn’t believe in me

Kylo: he’s a fool. you’re sad everytime you come back from there. you’re unfocused. i’m scared they have a bad influence on you. they’re slowing down your progress, keeping you from reaching your full potential. i think you should keep your distance for a little bit.

Rey: you’re right. i will. 

[rey ends up cutting ties with Finn and all her friends. after that, Kylo starts demanding more from her. she has to swear to be faithful to the dark, and he’s more and more critical of her. months pass, and he’s different with her now] 

Kylo: FOCUS. WHY do I still have to correct you on this? 

Rey: i’m sorry master 

Kylo: i don’t need you to be sorry, i need you to FOCUS

Rey: I am

Kylo: no you’re NOT. what’s on your mind? 

Rey: n…nothing

Kylo: …it’s your parents, isn’t it? I can feel it

Rey: master…when will you teach me how… to find them 

Kylo: is that all you care about??

Rey: no, but  

Kylo: after everything i’ve done for you?? does any of it count?

Rey: i’m sorry master, i just wish i could know when–
