nobody’s ready to have this convo yet, but black lives only matter to y’all when it’s white against black. what about black against black ? how many poc get killed on the daily due to their own ? due to rival gangs ? why only now are we recognizing but only because a white man was involved ? i despise white privileged people just as much as the next, but y’all need to wake the fuck up. i’m not justifying the cops actions, but if we’re gonna preach something, we should preach the entire thing.

wait this anon really thought they did something. crime is crime. black people do not target each other because they’re black. BLM is about systematic racism, oppression, police brutality, living in constant fear because of the colour of their skin.

ethan’s post and the replies he got made me so uncomfortable. i know they mean well but if they really do want to educate themselves further they’d look into cops and how corrupt the system is.

also i found a google doc explaining more in detail about ACAB. read this if you’ve been praising that cop from ethan’s video.

remember... ACAB. people’s individual experiences with cops does not dismiss the fact that they’re a part of the corrupt and unjust system institutionalised by the hands of law enforcement. if people chose to work for the system they’re automatically bastardised however this doesn’t apply for the individual morality of every cop. if cops want to show that they’re actually ‘good’ they’d join us in solidarity, quit their jobs and stop feeding into the system.

..also stop sharing cop propaganda. they’ll kneel with peaceful protesters then tear gas and shower them with rubber bullets right after their picture is taken and posted on the media. and as i said, if they really do stand in solidarity then they’d stop being a part of the system that automatically makes them corrupt.

anyway... don’t forget to donate to bail funds, black owned businesses etc.

here’s a link to a doc that has all the bail funds by city.

and eventhough i’ve already posted this here’s some more ways to help.

Black Lives Matter

i know i’m never on here and i’m late to speak about this issue on tumblr...but we need to actively seek to dismantle the anti-black racism in our communities now. sign petitions, donate, but the very least we can do is not rely on our black friends to educate us on the centuries of systematic racism that they’ve faced. do your research. educate yourselves on the unjust and corrupt systems institutionalised by the hands of law enforcement. do not let your beliefs live on the internet. start a conversation in real life, call people out. either enlighten people with what you’ve learned or settle for complacency and silence. there is no point in covering discomfort with copy and paste reposts on your social media. show that we care.

i’m sure a lot of you have already done so but please sign petitions and donate what you can to memorial funds, black owned business, protest bail out funds and more important causes. however please do not donate to change.org after you’ve signed a petition! the money does not go to the people who organised the petition! also do not forget to check out the anti-racism resources!
