Broken Homes of Different Sizes pt8
Borrower Lyney and Lynette, Human Freminet (Slight au with borrowers existing, everything else is the same as canon)
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So. Who exactly was that?” Lyney broke the tense silence that had descended over the table after everyone had finished eating.
“No one really knows her name, but most call her the Traveler. She’s going around Teyvat looking for her twin brother.” Freminet explained softly as he carefully put his covers back onto his teeth. “I don’t- I didn’t mean to attack her, but she kept staring at Nette.”
“When Fremi walked in, I was speaking with her and she was showing me a photo of her brother. From his perspective, it likely looked as if she was trying to grab me.” Lynette explained to Lyney. “I had already told Rosseland to stand down since she was invited by Fremi, and was amiable enough.”
“I thought you were in danger.” Fremi lowered his head. “I’m sorry. I’ll have to make it up to the Traveler too.”
“Well at least we know the Traveler is someone we can probably trust if we see her again.” Lyney hummed, standing up and stretching. “Anyhow, I think we should find time to go on an outside borrowing trip soon, dear sister. We’re getting low on our dried stores.”
Lynette nodded, also standing up and stretching. “I’ll have to take a quick power nap first. My energy levels are low.”
“Wait, outside borrowing?” The twins turned to look up at Freminet. “How often do you do that?”
“Not very, usually once every two months.” The pyro user sighed. “But it’s starting to get further from Spring and into Summer, so most flowers will turn into fruit soon. And we need the flowers for medicines.”
A soft thud echoed in the silence as Freminet sat a notebook on the table, pushing away his breakfast plates. “What kind of plants?”
Lynette’s ear folded back and she glanced at Lyney who also looked a little perturbed. “Is there a reason you want to know? It’s not like it would work on you, the amount of flowers you would need would be way more than you could reasonably gather.”
Freminet paused, before glancing down at his notebook shyly. “S-sorry, I wasn’t thinking. You probably wouldn’t want to share that kind of stuff with a human.”
“That’s not what we said.” Lyney sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Borrowing habits are routines we keep to avoid the humans we live around, yes, but it's also our entire lives.”
“We understand you want to help, but breaking those habits would be rough on us. If we just asked you to get everything for us
we would probably end up irrationally irritable.” Lynette explained. “One trip change and months of work could be wasted.”
“So what if I don’t do it for you, but keep watch for you?” Freminet asked slowly. “I’m afraid to see you two get hurt at all, hence my fight with the Traveler. But I don’t want to encroach on your individuality and independence.”
Lyney turned to Lynette. “We could give a rough timeline of our borrowing trips, so that we aren’t in his way, and he can make sure we’re safe for his peace of mind.”
“That could work.” Lynette nodded, her tail slowing from its lashing state.
The twins and Freminet sat at the table for a while, going over routine borrowing trips and the seasonal trips. A rough schedule formed as they worked, and they all began to relax from the stressful morning’s events.
“Okay, that’s all of it.” Freminet nodded as he carefully put away the notebook.
“I’m going to clean up breakfast.” The human warned as he collected the dishes, the twins nodded and made their ways off of the table and back into the walls. A sigh of relief echoed between them, and they glanced at each other.
“What was that?” Lyney asked slowly, pressing a hand to his chest. “It was unsettling.”
“Someone was listening in on us the whole time.” Lynette hissed, her tail lashing, and ears folded back. “It felt disturbing but not malicious.”
“Like an ice bath, but no intent to harm, exactly.” Lyney nodded, glancing in the direction where he could hear Freminet shuffling around. “He didn’t react at all.”
“So either he knew and faked it
”
Lyney nodded. “Or he’s completely unaware.”
The twins began to walk through the walls, each passage familiar, yet darker than usual. An oppressive air settled in the quiet of the space.
“If he knew, he would’ve told us, he’s Oath Bound.” Lynette said softly.
“That’s if he thought they would harm us, but if they only intend to watch, or capture us
that’s technically not harming us.” Lyney argued, his chest tight and a bitter taste in his mouth at the thought of this human that he had put so much trust into potentially betraying them.
“He defended me, he caught me and let me go, remember?” Lynette whispered, hugging herself as they reached their home in the walls, hidden behind the bookshelf. “He- we’re supposed to trust him, right?”
“Yes, we are.” There was a beat of silence. “Hopefully, that trust isn’t being taken for granted.”

Worldbuilding for BHoDS
Oaths:
When a human makes an oath on their vision to another human it is just a promise with a divine punishment should it be broken. (The cracking of a vision)
When a borrower makes an oath on their vision to another borrower it is the same.
When a human makes an oath on their vision to a borrower(s) (most often a swearing of protection or not to bring harm to the borrower(s)) they are Bound by Oath to that borrower(s) and gain the unofficial title of OathKeeper. The human cannot break their oath even consciously. The human will always know where the borrower is and if they are hurt the human can take the wound instead (the size of the wound is only proportional to the borrower, a large gash to them would be a minor cut to the human). The only way a human Bound by Oath can be released is if the borrower states that their Oath is void or the borrower dies.
When a borrower makes an oath on their vision to a human (Mostly forced by a human that has a borrower trapped in some way) they are similarly Bound by Oath to that human. They gain the unofficial title of OathKept. The borrower cannot reject any request made by the human they are bound to unless the task is impossible. The only upside to this binding is that the borrower cannot be harmed by anyone or anything during the duration of the oath. A borrower can be released from this oath if the human says that the oath is void, or the human dies.

Oh this might be what I needed for inspiration for a new chapter, thanks :D
Another g/t trope that I love but as a dialogue prompt
Giant: "You're scared of me."
Tiny: "...I don't want to be."

Alright, I drew it quite while ago, when Wanderer had his first banner, and I never really share it anywhere, since I don’t have suitable media for G/t stuff with humans, but now seems like I have it 👀

Tried my hand at drawing the Fontaine siblings from my au. It's not great since I haven't drawn in months >_>
Lynette has Freminet trapped, you can't move with a sleeping cat on you, it's the law. Not that he actually minds, his hand is absolutely just pins and needles though.

Broken Homes of Different Sizes pt7
Borrower Lyney and Lynette, Human Freminet (Slight au with borrowers existing, everything else is the same as canon)
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Fremi.” The cryo user turned to see Lyney waving at him from Rosseland’s back.
“Lyn it is before sunrise, what is it?” Freminet grumbled as he pulled his covers farther up, practically cocooned in the blankets. “I have to go back to the Hearth tomorrow, let me sleep in.”
“It’s important I promise.” Freminet watched as Rosseland jumped up from the floor and Lyney slid off of the mechanical cat. The tiny Pyro user carefully picked his way through the sheets and finally collapsed, leaning against Freminet’s face. “Our birthday is exactly one month from today. I wanted to give you plenty of time since you’ll be doing missions again.” Freminet hummed, afraid to speak with Lyney so close. “You don’t have to get me anything of course, but, bring Lynette some sort of human sweet. She’ll love it, I promise.”
Freminet nodded carefully, gently pulling Lyney away from his face with a hand. He stared in tired awe as his chest ached from protectiveness. Lyney hung limply in his hand, a monument of trust considering they had only been interacting for a week now.
Freminet couldn’t think of a single time he had trusted anyone that much.
A loud yowl made both of them stiffen and turned to Rosseland who made a series of beeps and clicks before racing out of the room.
“Oh- oh no.” Freminet carefully moved Lyney to the floor and threw his blankets off, summoning his claymore and diving helmet. “Lyney, go hide. Now.”
The borrower watched in shock as the human boy’s demeanor changed so drastically. He frantically backpedaled out of the human’s way, following after him as quickly as he could.
He turned the corner into the kitchen/living room and felt a chill roll over him. Freminet was standing, well crouching, in front of Rosseland who was protecting Lynette. Across from Freminet was a lady with a white dress and blonde hair, a flower in her hair that felt unnatural somehow. She had a dull blade gripped in her hand, but it was held defensively, as if she had just blocked an attack.
“Freminet, it’s fine I won’t hurt your friend, I promise you.” The lady panted softly, an unplaceable accent coating her words. “I just wanted to bring you something before you go back to working with the Knave.”
Freminet shook his head, gripping his claymore tighter. “Get out.” He took a step forwards and Lyney flinched at the frigid tone, nothing like the demure voice he was used to. “Dismiss your weapon and leave, this is your last warning.”
“Fine.” The woman dismissed her weapon and held up her hands, backing towards the door.
Just before she reached the exit Lyney watched Rosseland dart forwards and suddenly he was pulled out of the way of a claymore swing by the meka cat. He watched as the woman blocked the attack and pulled herself into Freminet’s space, making his claymore useless. Lyney turned to see Lynette with her ears folded and tail lashing. A loud thud returned his attention and he froze as he saw Freminet lying unconscious on the floor, the woman slowly pulling herself to her feet.
“Lyney, we should-” Lynette began.
“I kn-”
“Hello!” The twins jumped out of their skins as they turned around to the new voice. “Paimon apologizes for the Traveler hurting your Keeper, but to be honest he invited her then attacked her first.” The twins stared in shock at the child-like fae girl floating behind them. “Oh right! Paimon is Paimon and that-” The girl pointed up at the blonde human. “That’s the Traveler. We’re exploring Teyvat because she lost her twin brother.”
Lyney glanced between the two and Freminet. “Okay
that’s a lot to process at once. I’m Lyney, and this is my dear sister Lynette. It seems you already know Freminet, but that word
Keeper? I can assure you no one is Keeping anyone.”
“Of course he is, He took an Oath to Keep you safe right?” Paimon tilted her head. “The full term is OathKeeper, but most just shorten it to Keeper.”
“That is true, he did.” Lyney sighed, still on edge with an unknown human in the room. “But you two did not, so why are you here?”
“Like I told Freminet, I had something I wanted to give him before he went back on more missions.” The Traveler sighed. “But he must’ve been on edge when he saw me talking to Miss Lynette because he immediately swung his claymore at me and stepped between us. I can’t blame him for protecting his family.”
“What the Traveler is trying to say is that she feels guilty for knocking him out.” Paimon floated up towards the human who had taken the opportunity to sit down to talk with them.
“What were you giving him?” Lynette asked curiously, still slightly hiding behind Rosseland.
“A new weapon I found in Dragonspine.” The Traveler materialized a weapon that felt like it exuded frigid air. The blade and hilt merged together in a mix of various shades of blue, glittering like ice in the morning sun. “It’s called the Snow-Tombed Starsilver. I figured it would be a good offensive weapon considering he just uses a variation of the Bell claymore.”
“You were just trying to be nice and he tried to hit you for it.” Paimon grumbled from her place on the Traveler’s shoulder.
“Well it would be like if someone pointed a weapon at you Paimon, I’d attack them for threatening you too.” The Traveler shrugged. “His Oath probably made his ptsd worse.”
“Ptsd?” Lyney asked, listening to the Traveler explain the condition and how Freminet likely had it in regards to his relationships with others that he grew to trust. The twins talked about how they had met the Cryo user and everything they had experienced over the past week, finding it oddly easy and comforting to talk to the Outlander from the Stars.
A low grumble interrupted their talk and the Traveler smiled. “I suppose he’s waking up now, and my cue to leave. But here’s the weapon, let him know it was a gift from me, okay?” The twins nodded and voiced their assent.
“See you guys later!” Paimon waved at them before hiding behind the flowers in the Traveler’s hair. They watched the woman leave before turning their attention to the slowly waking up Freminet.
“Good morning Sleeping Beauty.” Lyney laughed as Freminet’s eyes widened and his head shot up, looking around frantically before calming down. “Where did-”
“The Traveler go?” Lynette finished, earning a quick nod.
“Well,” Lyney smiled. “She left, BUT she also left that claymore as a gift to you.” He pointed at the Snow-Tombed Starsilver. “You should apologize to her the next time you see her. You attacked her twice, and she’s actually super nice.”
“Oh-uh.” Freminet sighed. “‘M sorry, I will.”
“Good. Now let's talk about breakfast, I’m starving.” Lyney grinned.

Broken Homes of Different Sizes pt6
Borrower Lyney and Lynette, Human Freminet (Slight au with borrowers existing, everything else is the same as canon)
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You’ve been home for a while, are you on house arrest or something?” Freminet pulled his goggles up and peered down at the eldest of the borrower twins, face twisted with confusion at the tiny person on the floor.
“What? No I’m just
well.” Freminet hummed, rubbing his neck. “Father said I was burned out and making mistakes, I had been doing nonstop missions since she took over the Hearth so she made me take a week off from that work.” Freminet watched as Lyney scaled the staple ladder he had put into the legs of his desks and other furniture.
“What happens when you go back?” Freminet bit his lip as he put away his tools. Slowly he turned his full attention onto Lyney, only to cower a little under the sharp look.
“Most likely back to infiltration missions.” He admitted. “They’re usually a day or two at most. But I end up helping others with their missions if I get done quickly. Most of the other children of the Hearth tolerate me because I know my place. I’m the diver, the best to easily fake innocence.” He hid another wince at the unamused look being leveled at him.
“You talk about diving a lot.” The two boys both jumped at the sudden voice, turning to see Lynette poking her head out from behind a wall outlet cover.
“Nette
you’re not supposed to use that entrance remember?” Freminet winced as he reached over and pulled at the cover more, revealing a very fried outlet. “You could get electrocuted.”
“It’s fine, we cut the power to it.” Freminet glanced back at Lyney in horror.
“I- that’s not-” Freminet leaned back in his chair and rubbed at his face.
The twins snickered softly, they couldn’t help but feel inclined to tease the youngest of them, even if he was the largest. Older sibling privilege, Lyney would say.
“You haven’t left the house this whole time, usually you would be in the ocean for hours everyday.” Lyney pointed out after a moment. He watched Freminet’s head raise from where it was resting on his arms.
“Well, I wouldn’t feel right leaving you two here alone. I- I know you’ve been here for a long time before we actually met, but
” Freminet slowly reached towards the twins, pausing before actually making contact. “For the first time, this place feels like home. I’m scared if I leave for too long
that it’s all just a dream.”
Lyney crossed his arms and glanced at Lynette. “Well I’m 100 percent certain that we are real, and we don’t plan on going anywhere for the time being.”
“I know that, it’s just that-” Freminet sighed, pulling his hand away. “Have you heard of Loneliness Syndrome?”
The twins shook their heads.
Freminet hummed, closing his eyes. “It's a type of mental sickness that happens to people that become so closed off from the world due to trauma or lack of empathetic or even sympathetic interactions. The sufferer creates grand delusions and fantasies as a form of escapism, until the point that they can no longer separate the fantasy from reality.”
“It sounds like
you know about this sickness from experience.” Lynette whispered, earning a glare from her brother.
“It’s really common in the House of the Hearth.” Freminet’s eyes opened. “I was starting to get it, but when Father took over it changed too much. I was forced back into reality, and then I met you two.”
“Diving is your way of bridging the escape of the fantasy but living in the moment to force reality.” Lyney’s eyes widened. “That’s actually incredible.”
“I was lucky.” Freminet sighed, gently moving his hand back towards the twins. “Sorry, I- can I
um.”
“You need to feel us, we understand.” Lynette smiled as she pulled Lyney into the waiting palm behind them. She could feel the heat that Freminet gave off, more subtle than other humans she had been held by due to his lower core temperature as a Cryo user. “Your heart is beating fast.”
Lyney nodded, the pulse of Freminet’s heart was easy to feel through his own hands, if they were paying attention to it.
“Sorry, I just
am really attached to you is all.” The quiet confession seemed to shock all three of them as Freminet’s face burned red.
“Somehow, I saw that coming,” Lynette shrugged, only to get shoved by Lyney.
“Stop ruining the moment.” He grumbled, crossing his arms, sticking his tongue out for good measure.
The twins yelped softly as Freminet began to jostle them slightly, soft laughter coming from him. When he calmed down, the fond smile that he gave them was absolutely adorable, leaving the twins starstruck.
They were still getting used to the younger human, but it was obvious that they were in for the long haul now. This was their younger brother, no matter what differences they had.

GtWAC Day 5: Underappreciated Fic
*cracks knuckles* I was waiting for this one
I wanna recommend more than one! Ento already said it but I'll say it again that Too Small To Be Afraid by @elizaditton is a must read for y'all
It's like, the g/t highschool trope done SO RIGHT, and with so much care. The worldbuilding is fun, the characters are fun, the development of the protagonist and friendship with her deskmate feels organic (btw DERRICK IS A CUTIE UGHH I LOVE HIM <33 But Kaylin is also so adorable?? Like, she's trying, but it's hard for her!) There's that underlying mystery about what happened to her, there's that other classmate who's sus, so we keep reading and wanting to see what comes next, not only for Kaylin and Derrick's friendship but also to see the mysteries slowly unveil. Anyway, it really deserves more notes <3
Next one is @rachey899 's Luke and Matt stories. IT FEELS SO UNDERAPPRECIATED GGRAAAARGH
I've read this short story first and it tugged at my heartstrings <3 I'ts about a sizeshifter who can grow and shrink named Luke and his friend Matt who secretly finds out. It's very casual, nice fun but there's also interesting shenanigans and scenarios that was a joy to read for me <3 if you like sizeshifters then what are you doing not reading this??
@gt-jar's Two Worlds Amongst the Stars is also really really good and I think it doesn't get enough attention! It has parental g/t (I think jar likes it a lot but that's just a hunch XD) Sooo, it's a found family in the making! There's fearplay but the giant isn't really evil or a jerk. Anyway it has me so very curious for what's going to happen so definitely check this one out!
Last but not least, it's @seraph-of-sizes's Broken Home AU. It's a Genshin fic, so I guess not everyone will like it, but I love Genshin, the Fontaine siblings, and this fic <3 It's so nice to see Freminet as the biggest little brother and the first meeting wtih Lyney and Lynette was both fun and scary. I really enjoy the character dynamics here so I think it deserves a spotlight! I think even if you've never heard of Genshin you'd enjoy reading it.

Hi!! I absolutely adore your writing and I think your broken home au is the best thing in existence, I was hoping you could do something with tighnari and borrower collei because I love them so much, if not then no worries :>
Thank you so much! I love my kids. But I also adore the Sumeru cast so much, Sumeru was the first nation I got to experience from -.0 to -.8 so here ya go:
================================================
The sound of pen on paper filled the quiet of the evening, the usual noise of the Avidya Forest fading to soft chirping and the bubbling of Ghandarvaville’s Creek. Rustling paper, the scratch of nails on wood, an old habit from the Academiya.
His ear flicked in annoyance.
“My hearing isn’t any worse than it was the last time you tried this.” He spoke softly, not even bothering to turn his gaze to where he knew his apprentice was standing like a Sumpter Beast in lamplights.
“Aww
” Now he turned, resting his head on his hand and fighting back the smile that wanted to cross his features. “Cyno said I would get you for sure this time!”
“Well, for one, Cyno walks barefoot.” Tighnari chuckled as the green-haired girl deflated immediately. “And for two, I’m a little more aware of your presence than I am of Cyno’s.”
That caught her attention. “Huh?” She tilted her head. “But why?”
“Well,” He gently reached out and waited for her to take the first step, as always. He remained completely stationary as she reached out and touched his gloved hand, relaxing only as she felt the pads on his fingers. It was one of his less noticeable features from his Valuka Shuna heritage, but to Collei it meant safety. She had explained that even in her nightmares, her brain couldn’t replicate the feeling of them, so as long as she could feel them, she knew she was safe.
“Well, what?” She said, looking up at him as she sat down in his hand.
Inwardly he was a little glad that she couldn’t see the fact his tail was swishing in content like a simple dog. “Well, because Cyno and I have known each other for many years now. I trust him with my life, and I trust him not to get into trouble less than 10 feet away from me.” The soft scold was met with a wince from the tiny girl.
“You’re still mad about the glider
” She grumbled. “I jus’ wanted to impress Amber when I saw her next.”
“Yes I’m still upset. Not mad, upset. You could have gotten very hurt.” Tighnari sighed. “But we’ve already had this discussion, no need to reiterate it now.”
“Cyno said the Windlume festival is coming up.”
“I’m going to kill him.” Tighnari rolled his eyes. “That was supposed to be a secret.”
“I knew it was coming anyways, Amber sent me a letter about it, I’m getting better at reading, but her handwriting is still hard to read from up close
” Collie hummed. Tighnari blinked before relaxing, good, their surprise trip wasn’t ruined after all.

Hellooo, can I ask some g/t headcanons about my fav Liyue gal, Yelan? đŸ„ș I feel like she's quite underrated as a character. Only if you want and have time ofc!!! ^^
Yelan: Actual Abyss carry, also got her weapon when pulling for Great Magic so
love her <3
Giant/human size:
Somehow gains a reputation for assisting tinies in moving homes, like Witness Protection but for borrowers. Of course her information ring includes tinies, she holds them in high regard, especially the ones that risk their lives for her.
She doesn’t mind tinies riding on her shoulders or in a pocket, but she’d rather not risk one of her enemies targeting them because they were seen with her.
When tinies were still being sold as pets and such, her family used their wealth and influence to infiltrate the rings and free the tinies as well as getting rid of the monsters.
If someone closed to Yelan asked why she enjoys dice chances over something like cards or coins, she would tell a story from when she was younger of watching a borrower play games with her father late at night, the image of the effort they had to expend just to roll a dice and play a game solidified her resolve to work hard enough to make every chance in her favor.
Tiny/borrower size:
The Illusive Lotus, a moniker known by any organized crime near Liyue. Some say they’re an Illuminated Beast that was granted powers over Hydro by the God of Justice herself. Becoming the enemy of Yansheng Teahouse usually ends in unfortunate circumstances.
Yelan enjoys watching people from rafters, using her elemental strings to easily move around a space. She doesn’t like to interact with many humans beyond Ningguangg, and even that is mostly business.
Most of her work is helping other borrowers and tinies escape kidnappers and traffickers. She finds the work bittersweet most days, since each rescue is just one more that she has yet to find her family.

I just stumbled across your blog a couple days ago. And I have been fed! Fed so well!! It's so hard to find genshin g/t. But your stories and headcanons are so good and well-written. Thank you for the giant Venti, Tighnari and Lyney headcanons. They're best bois. :)
- Fantoma
Aww thank you! I adore the characters of Gen.shin so much, it's fun to write about them when I have the time (and no writers block ofc).
I'm honestly surprised there isn't way more actually, though there isn't a lot of size difference in the game to begin with to send people down the proverbial rabbit hole. But it's a fun pastime for me at least, hopefully I'll get a bit more time soon to clear out my overfilled inbox lol.

omg thank you so much for the g/t lyney headcanonsđŸ„č! I was dying for g/t stuff with the new fontaine cast😔. I wanted to ask how you think lyney would react to meeting a borrower for the first time?
Like maybe he doesn’t know borrowers exist till he sees one running across his desk after a performance or they get stuck in one of his magic tricks
do with that what you may.
(can you tell im a lyney main suffering from lyney brain rot😭)
I love to write the Fontaine sibling so much, they're my kids <3. Feel free to send me more Lyney requests anytime :D
--------------------------------
Lyney had believed he had seen it all, but nothing could have prepared him for the tiny creature Rosseland had plopped down on the desk in front of him.
The Grin-Malkin cat, true to his nature, had a wide Chesire grin as he sat proudly over whatever unfortunate creature he had decided to leave as “food” for him or Lynette. He still wasn’t as good with cat-mannerisms as his sister.
“What did the cat drag in this time?” He sighed, walking over to his desk to inspect the poor creature. As he got closer his brow furrowed. For one, it was moving, and two it looked like a tiny human
 not a rodent.
He watched the creature closely, only for his eyes to widen as they began to frantically back away from him, closer to the edge of the desk-
“Careful!” He sighed as he caught the tiny creature
person? “That would have been a painful drop.” He inspected the being closer only to freeze as he noticed they were hyperventilating. He couldn't have that! “Hey..it’s alright. I didn’t mean to frighten you. Here.”
He gently set the being back onto the table, shooing Rosseland away. “Now I do fear that we have gotten off on the wrong foot
well hand? Hm. Anyhow,” He sighed. “I apologize for Rosseland, he’s quite the trickster, though he never harms innocent creatures. Ask my dear sister, we’ve had to carefully release so many mice.”
“P-please just let me go
” He nodded immediately.
“Of course, I never intended to keep you here. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t hurt.” Lyney glanced at the table and winced. “Let me move you to the floor at least, I’d feel absolutely horrible if I let you try and climb all of that way on your own.”
The tiny person glanced between him and the edge of the table, slowly patting themselves as if looking for something, only to grimace as they didn't find what they were looking for. They looked back up at him in slight terror. “I
is there
another way?” They seemed to swallow and fidget with their hands as they avoided his eyes.
Lyney bit his lip as he tried to think of another way for the tiny person to get out of this predicament. “I could drag some pillows and blankets over that you could jump into?”
The tiny person began to nod before they glanced to the side and went pale. Lyney turned and sighed as he saw Rosseland staring at the tiny person intently.
“Darn cat.” He shook his head. “I’ll make it quick I promise, then I’ll grab Rosseland so he won’t get you again.”
“D-deal.” The tiny stuttered, nodding frantically.
“Alright.” Lyney, glad he was well suited for handling fragile things with ease, quickly grabbed the tiny person and whisked them onto the floor before leaning up and grabbing the mid-pounce Grin-Malkin Cat. He then took several steps back and watched the tiny person sprint away.
“I’m Lyney by the way.” He said as an afterthought as he struggled to keep his hold on the cat in his arms.
He almost thought the little person hadn’t heard him, but a short turn and a wave was given before they darted into a small crack in one of the countertop’s trims.
“Bad cat.” He huffed, gently ruffling his fur, earning a soft hiss and a paw smack.

If you have the time, do you have any head cannons of giant tighnari?
Tighnari: I actually got him on his banner, and somehow managed to snag Hunter’s Path for him as well. He absolutely carried me through Sumeru.
(These will be hcs with Giant in context of giants to humans, not humans to borrowers)
Withering Zones in his Avidya forest? Not a chance. He restores them as soon as they form, and puts a lot more effort into the research to prevent them reappearing or appearing elsewhere. His size makes most of the enemies that appear in the zones far less dangerous therefore he’s more likely to let Forest Rangers or even adventurers tag along.
THE EARS! He can literally hear everything, from the faintest rustle to whispers. He and Cyno tested it after Tighnari came crashing through the Wall of Samiel after hearing Cyno scream for help while doing a job in the desert, all the way from the Avidya forest. The range is dependent slightly on how familiar he is with someone’s voice, otherwise it gets lost in ambient noise. If Cyno yells at the top of his lungs, with the wind blowing from Cyno’s location towards Tighnari, no large waterfalls in between, and the weather is fair, the farthest he can hear someone is the border of Liyue to the Mausoleum of King Deshkret.
He enjoys talking to anyone about megafauna/megaflora as that was his research focus in the Academiya
for obvious reasons.
He lets those he trusts sleep near him, since he’s fairly vulnerable while sleeping. Collie and Cyno sometimes get cold and sleep in his tail.
