One of the more fascinating aspects of the pilot was the reveal that Eda was secretly working for the Emperor. Making her gem a magical taser was such a cool choice!

But between that and all of the talk in the pitch bible about Eda needing to sacrifice a human soul in order to cure her (aging) curse, I can definitely see why that concept got changed.

Mmmmmm the delicious irony of Eda being like "at least I'm not cowering in fear of some emperor" while she is, in fact, a little bit doing that. The fact that Lilith snarks about how good her job is and how Eda wouldn't have to sell garbage if she worked for the emperor, while Eda does, in fact, work for the emperor and is still selling garbage. Yay, irony! But yeah, could have gotten preeeetty dark there.

the second i start thinking about stardew valley heart events in real life terms it becomes such a chaotic telenovela, demetrius is trying to lecture me about not dating his daughter when ive been dating his son for months, abigail invites me for a oujia board sesh but the board starts spelling out "i love you" so she gets embarrased and stops but the next day comes to me like "sorry about yesterday, im sure you know what it means 😳👉👈" all while standing in front of my house which i share with my husband who i got married to YESTERDAY, one of emily's heart events ends with clint walking in on us literally just talking and he's like "oh sorry i must be interrupting.. congratulations man" CLINT STOP IMPLYING SHIT IM MARRIED TO A MAN

XD Some things never change - At the start of Gilded Family Caleb is terrible at explaining that he's the person Belos' Grimwalkers were cloned in the image of, and at the end of Gilded Family Caleb is... still terrible at explaining that he's the person Belos' Grimwalkers were cloned in the image of.

Guess being unable to change one super specific aspect of themselves is a Wittebane thing, lol.

At least the "Hi, we're your ancestors." talk seemed to go better? Although I fully expect that was because Evelyn probably did most of the talking, lol.

I mean, cut him SOME slack, it's not like he's had any practice in the explanation since the start of Gilded; Phoenix was the last person he had to give that spiel to XD

But yeah, Caleb cannot get a win on that one. He is struggling. Someone who is good with words, please help him. Titan knows how that talk's gonna go when Ghost is old enough to comprehend what's being said.

I love how Achsah's plan to send her parents a message from her through the ages revolved around multiple factors.

1.) She remembering the layout of her parents house and the surrounding area correctly. (It's not much the layout that's the potential problem as locating the correct place must've been. 350+ years is a long time! Surely the geography and plant community changed quite a bit in the intervening centuries.)

2.) Caleb deciding to dig a root cellar like he always talking about doing. (Didn't happen, but luckily Ghost decided to dig in the exact same spot where she buried the puzzle box anyway.)

3.) Burying the message deep enough for it to not be found right away, but not so deeply that it's unlikely to never be found. (Image Caleb and Evelyn coming across the message... while building the house! They'd never let Achsah out of their sight!)

Oh, yeah, it was a shot in the dark, for sure. She buried that thing with NO idea if it would actually reach them.

In terms of part one, the house IS close enough to an unchanging landmark (the third rib) that she could probably get pretty close. We'll say she used oracle magic to predict the changing landscape, or she had a photograph of her house that she took from the third rib to guide her, or even that there's actually a couple dozen boxes buried in the surrounding area with a copy of the letter and a bracelet, lol. They can go find the rest of the boxes and EVERYONE can get an Achsah bracelet.

They got really lucky with Ghost finding the box, for sure, but in terms of how deep she needed to bury it, root cellars have to be a certain depth to really work properly, so if she buried it with the thought that Caleb would find it when he dug a root cellar, she could just bury it at that depth, and she'd be set!

But overall? Yeah. It was a desperate last attempt. It's a little sad to think about her writing a letter that might never reach its recipient, with no way of finding out if it got that far, and just hoping that fate would be kind, and her parents would find it. But, hey, it worked!
