I keep forgetting that my headcanon of Ambrosius being a biology nerd is not canon, but like you cannot tell me he's not the kind of guy to be hella excited about animals and plants. Ambrosius is officially intorduced to Nimona and they're both feeling super awkward and tense 'till Ambrosius just starts asking her a bunch of scientific questions about the animals she shifts into. They end up geeking out about animal anatomy and Ambrosius is extremely impressed by her anatomical fusion of otter species
