In Sickness & In Flames - The Front Bottoms
I was only properly introduced to the Front Bottoms this year. I actually find this new release much more enjoyable, start to finish, than their back catalogue. There’s no duds on this album.

Hot Motion - Temples
Three albums in and Temples haven’t put a single foot wrong. There is not one tune that I would cut from their discography. Hot Motion is irresistible: flashy, bold, a down-right good time.

Almost (Sweet Music) - Hozier
2019 was a year of killer choruses and honestly I struggled to rank these ten. No matter how many times I’ve listened to Almost (Sweet Music), I’ve never tired of it. Cleverly worded, beautifully layered, topped with Hozier’s booming, thoughtful voice. As someone who had no investment in Hozier’s debut, I couldn’t care less about him ‘selling out’ to these boppy pop tunes. I am totally behind this switch up.
