CW for dd content - Argand (LOR)

It’s surprising there isn’t much Argand content to go around. Well… I guess not so much since Roland is married to Angelica, plus the ship itself is borderline dd, but I’d usually expect to see at least a few who do.

Kinda been pushing it subtly, I’m not that good at drawing men so I can’t make content for them as well as I’d like to. But the flavor of dd is really good… Not dumbing down the toxicity at all, I like imagining a Roland who rebounds onto Argalia after Angelica’s death.

Roland who only sees Angelica in Argalia, and the very moment he realizes it’s not her, but her bastard brother, things go haywire. Yet he can’t seem to let go- partially because Argalia is the closest thing to Angelica, and partially because maybe this is the punishment he should receive for not being able to save her.

Argalia who also clearly hates Roland, but just lets the sad sack of sopping shit leech onto him, wondering just what it was that made Angelica like him. What is it that made Angelica choose Roland over him? Just waiting for the very moment he can screw him over, and make him pay for not being able to save her.

Argalia, who mimics some habits of his sister and makes Roland go absolutely ballistic with grief because he misses Angelica, and anger because he can easily imitate his dead sister just to torture him without a second thought.

Very, very poor coping mechanisms with a high level of toxicity… there’s a lot to explore in their dynamic.

Or… you can just make em kill each other mid-fuck (also valid!)

I used a reference from the game so I would have an easier time trying to replicate the painterly style. very messy result, but I wanted to limit myself to abt an hour because its a study and isnt supposed to be perfect (glaring at my perfectionism rn), so I'm ok with it

Xiao has four phases according to her sprites:

1) Regular Liu Association fit

2) Liu Association fit w/slight signs of EGO (dragon horns, scales growing on the face/neck)

-For 1&2 she wields a longsword

3) EGO manifestation (half armor, half original attire)

4) Complete EGO manifestation (completely covered in armor, sash made of fire, black wings, a helmet with four dragon horns) Dragon motif is now fully present yet there is still a piece of Liu Association present as her jacket now being used as a cape

-For 3&4 she wields a guan dao

Arguably all four are difficult to draw (especially the fourth)…

Anyways, it’s just nice to look at all the effort poured into designing one of my most favorite characters, a seemingly “cold-hearted” person who is simply honest and straightforward but very intense when driven by love. What’s there not to love about her?
