Just as Khornates crave bloodshed and battle, feeding on it as a human might food and drink, the Slaanesh crave stimulation. They will actually die if they remain in a state of ennui for too long. Daemonettes have a lower thresh holds for this, making them better at things that require patience and precision. Keepers have a higher thresh-hold, a narrower scope of talents (the topmost one of which is killing), and require a specialized "diet" of pain and torment to function and maintain their prowess. As we saw with N'kari, the ennuitic state can be endured -- at least for Keepers -- for millenniums in mortal time. However, the Keeper at the end of it will be a mere shell of it's former glory.

tbh the more time you spend around open, wild bodies of water like rivers, lakes and seas the more you begin to understand why pretty much every culture in the world has a similar eerie, hypnotically beautiful yet terrifying temptress figure who lures people into the depths to drown them and/or eat them in its folklore representing the seductive call of the water. it really is just like that.
