I just realized Whitley probably felt a bit traumatized at the wine being dunked on him because of his mother, she would of started drinking and neglecting them when Whitley would of been like- 10 at most. At worst he would of been like 6. 

And it’s treated as a laughing point, like the writers just forget key points of whitley’s character
