       ❛ yeah—just the whole stark thing i guess. ❜ her tone makes it clear that she’s upset, and peter DOES feel guilty about putting all of her hard work to waste. he’s always been one of the smartest kids in class, but when spider-man and his internship caused him to fall behind, betty was essential in helping him pick up everything he’d MISSED. it’s possible he’d be failing otherwise, setting his graduation back. but when he’d received a news alert about a disturbance in times square, he’d had to move quickly. ❛ my... ❜ he pauses, his heart slamming against his chest as if she might assume he has a high-tech spider suit in his locker if his answer isn’t viable. ❛ metrocard? i kind of have to GO. ❜

 wow, guys !! i’ve only had this blog for a few days and i’m already over 100 followers. this is insane !! you guys are all so wonderful and lovely and the fact that you are following me on this blog just warms my darn tootin’ heart. i worked so hard on oksana and was so worried about bringing her onto tumblr because i was worried she might be received well but you guys have just confirmed that this was a wonderful choice. you are all wonderful angels who deserve nothing but love and kindness and happiness. below i’ve listed some people who i am especially thankful to have. if you aren’t on here, just know that i still love you with all my heart and sometimes just forget urls !!

          LEANING  BACK  AGAINST  THE  WALL,  she  waits  for  her  project  partner  to  exit  the  room  after  their  exam.   she’s  done  with  classes  for  the  day,  hoping  to  get  some  work  done  on  the  project  with  Peter  before  going  out  for  the  night.   putting  her  phone  into  her  back  pocket,  she  pushes  off  the  wall  when  she  sees  him  &  hurries  to  catch  up.   ❝  hey !!   what’d  you  think  of  the  test ?  ❞

        peter is quick to dart out of the classroom the moment his exam has been turned into their professor, eager to get home and get some food in his body before making the DIFFICULT decision between homework, and time with his alter-ego. it’s for that reason that he hardly notices his project partner until she’s practically at his side, her voice making him glance up as other students shove their way past them. he offers his friend an easy smile then, his shoulders lifting and falling as he adjusts the strap of his bag against his shoulder. ❛ kind of sucked, but i’m sure i passed. what about you? ❜

     this will hurt her in the end, and she knows it. however, she can’t bring herself to care. this is one last conversation with him, and it means the world to her that he felt the need to say goodbye. that’s what this is: a goodbye for them. he’s running headfirst into danger and nothing she says or does will stop him. she can only hope that he makes it back to the city, to his aunt…to her. ‘it’s not a waste of energy.’ she looks up at him, more serious now. she has to take care of her family, the ones she has left. ‘i’ll take care of them, don’t you worry. and i’ll look after may, too.’ at least she won’t be worrying alone that way. ‘don’t you do anything stupid, either. be as careful as you can. please.’

        peter’s lips curl up, just slightly, as the other meets his gaze. she’ll worry about him no matter what he tells her, that much he knows. and part of him is glad, glad that someone out there will care enough to miss him. the selfish part of him still wants her to care, doesn’t know what he’d do if she didn’t. but the other, more sane part of him only hopes that she can get through whatever outcome this reckoning brings them. if this is really goodbye, he hopes she can let him go. ❛ thank you. i’d really appreciate that. she’s going to need you. and ned too, don’t let him do anything STUPID either. ❜ it’s a lot, maybe too much, that he’s putting on her shoulders. it isn’t up to her, to take care of the people he leaves behind. he took that responsibility from her when he broke things off. but he knows it’s one she’s willing to take on, regardless. it’s one of the things he loves most about her. ❛ you’re stronger than you know. you can make it through anything, including this. just know that i... ❜ he pauses, his throat bobbing as he forces himself to push through the intense emotions swirling within him. ❛ just know that i loved you, and that i never stopped. that everything i do, including this, is because of that. ❜

MJ:

MJ rolled her eyes at Peter’s observation. Didn’t he know better? “If you wanted fun, you should’ve invited Ned.” MJ shot back, eyes refocusing on her science homework.  She had two shifts to volunteer at the hospital and the shelter, and at least three kids to tutor over the weekend. It was her usual busy weekend and if she wanted to work on her admission essays in time for her aunt to read them, she wanted to finish her assignments tonight. At least get through her AP enviro work, but Peter seemed determined and close to giving her puppy eyes.

“Fine.” She announced with an over dramatic sigh. “I’d probably go out to a movie, but I don’t know what’s playing and…” MJ shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t feel like watching a movie and she didn’t think Peter would either. “Aren’t you Spider-Man? Show me the city like you see it.”

        peter considers this for a moment, tapping his pen against his chin as he cocks his head. ❛ i wouldn’t sell yourself so short. you’re FUN. just... in different ways. ❜ he offers, though he can’t exactly pinpoint what those ways are in that moment. he likes michelle, it’s as simple as that. for whatever reason, he likes being around her. even if she spends half the time picking on him or telling him he’s being an idiot, it’s better than being forced to study on his own. and there are moments, rare, invaluable moments where she acts like a real person around him. those moments, to him, are worth all the others. those little glimpses into what makes michelle who she is. he finds each of them endlessly fascinating. 

        when she so easily agrees, he’s quick to perk up in excitement. ❛ movies are fun. but they’re also expensive, and so are college applications. ❜ in other words, they should BOTH save their money. luckily, she seems to be on the same page. the fact that she’s even willing to goof off with him has him giddy, his thoughts coming up with the same idea the moment it leaves her mouth. he’s never really shown michelle the city in the same way he sees it, and he thinks she might appreciate the new angle. ❛ you read my mind! ❜ the boy grins, jumping to his feet with far more precision and coordination than any human being should have. he glances toward the window, and notes that the sun is nearly finished setting. it’ll provide them cover, which means he doesn’t have to bother with the suit. ❛ you really trust me that much? ❜

   “peter parker? thinking? this early in the morning? should i be worried?” there’s a soft laugh as she leans against the counter, back bent just slightly over the edge as she raises her own coffee cup to her lips to take a sip. she’s been awake for hours at this point working on a project for norman osborn and is on her third cup of coffee, pretty convinced that she’s going just a little bit insane. but if she can just get this thing done, then she’ll be able to breathe for a little bit. a breath of air that she can spend with her boyfriend without having to worry about rushing out the door or shooing him away so she can finish whatever research she’s doing. “a vacation?” she perks up at the thought and puts her half empty cup on the counter before turning to him with a full grin. “if this project is done tonight… i can get off this weekend or next. can new york get by without you for a few days?”

        peter chuckles, his lips curling around the edge of his mug as the warm liquid fills his mouth. ❛ ha—ha. ❜ he attempts to humorlessly mutter, though the grin plastered on his face surely gives him away. his gaze is full of affection as he watches his partner from across the room, wishing he could abandon all responsibility and spend the day pestering her. they’d have fun, even if she did had a deadline to look out for. but he has deadlines of his own, and his professor is one unexcused absence away from FAILING him for the semester. ❛ sort of. i mean we can’t afford anywhere that nice, but it’d be nice to get away. ❜ even if they only travel upstate, or find themselves a couple of hours from the city. any peace and quiet they can find will surely help rejuvenate the exhausted pair. the look he’s giving her is hopeful, and the grin on her lips does nothing short of fill him with excitement. ❛ really? ❜ he hadn’t expected her to agree, not so quickly. he figured some persuading was in order. ❛ i think the city can probably manage... i know someone much more appreciative of my attention. ❜

BUCKY:

       the faintest hint of humor ticks the sides of his lips at the boy’s reaction. he’s met so many of these superhero type people the past few years, but this kid is a bit different. maybe because he’s so young. he has to be younger than bucky went off to war, and he’s swinging around, fighting.  ❝ it’s bucky. ❞ he says first, and then, ❝ where are there radioactive spiders?❞   it’s not that crazy, he supposes, considering steve, and himself, and the rest of steve’s team. but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to try to avoid these radioactive spiders of the future. ❝ i don’t - think deer can actually bite a person.❞ he adds, and there’s the slightest chuckle at the image. pauses, ❝ — how old are you, kid? ❞ 

        ❛ bucky. ❜ peter repeats, as if it’s his first time hearing it. it isn’t, as he and ned have done a rather lengthy amount of research on each of the individuals he ran into on that day in germany. still, it’s odd to actually be meeting someone so CLOSELY acquainted with steve rogers. given his allegiance to mr. stark, he hardly sees anyone outside of he and vision. ❛ i’m... peter. i mean i don’t really go by that, but you can call me that. ❜ he’s only recently taken to introducing himself as anything other than spider-man, but figures it seems a bit obnoxious to use the name when the mask is nowhere to be found. ❛ oscorp? ...in new york. ❜ maybe you shouldn’t share that. too late, he thinks. though it isn’t as if bucky needs to run off and get bit. 

        ❛ i dunno, i think they’d do just about anything if you upset them enough. they have teeth, don’t they? ❜ but now he’s second guessing himself. he’s never actually met a deer, nor does he know anything about their defense mechanisms. something tells him bucky is on the same page, however. at his question, peter sighs. is it THAT obvious he’s just a kid? ❛ i’m—i’m 18. give or take a couple of years. ❜
