└ i think they would’ve started talking because MK suggested Macaque tries to find ways to release his stress, and the monkey didn’t wanna go to an actual therapist so, therapy cats it was.

└ They eventually started having casual conversation while Mac was there, at first because Macaque couldn’t stand he awkwardness, but eventually it was because he sub consciously wanted to talk to Sandy.

└ But this process took quite a few months, and they didn’t get together until a year and a half post LBD.

└ But even after so much time Macaque was very hesitant on touch unless he initiated it. He had to be the one to throw his arm around someone, he had to be the one to playfully punch someone’s shoulder. If someone else did it he either flinched and played it off, or just dodged it completely.

└ Macaque gets super flushed when Sandy points out his progress, but not in a negative way. Sure it’s embarrassing to know he’s gotten so close to someone, but it’s helped to just try to not think about it. But Sandy notices when Macaque started hugging him with both arms not just one; when he lets Sandy touch him first on occasion.

└ Once Macaque is comfortable in the relationship he’ll start being flirty. Tired of people acting like Sandy is innocent, we all know what he said he was like, and also HE’S A WHOLE ADULT. cough, anyway. Sandy sometimes flirts back.

└ Sandy asked if he could help clean Mac’s fur one day, and sometimes the monkey will shuffle towards him slowly and ask if the bigger could do it for him. Sandy wasn’t allowed to touch his ears for months though.

└ Their relationship doesn’t really start out as a “will you be my boyfriend?” situation, eventually Macaque and Sandy just get more affectionate w each other until someone asks if they’re dating. Sandy kind of just thought they were but didn’t give it too much thought because neither asked. Macaque didn’t really think about his feelings until the question was popped out.

└ Mac when he first starting visiting had actually hissed at any cats that hissed at him, Sandy always kinda just laughed and moved on.

└ Macaque is the first one to say I love you!! shocker!! but i think Sandy would wait for Mac to say it first, he knows a good summary of Mac’s past relationships and doesn’t wanna make him uncomfy by rushing anything

└ Mac can easily travel via shadows, but at some point he opts for sitting on Sandy’s arm or shoulder.

└ After the monkey is comfortable, when they’re alone he gives Sandy lots of kisses. Listen, i’m talking all over his arms, face, etc. They’re usually kinda quick. But Sandy, Sandy doesn’t hesitate to give Macaque kisses on both sides of his face, his lips, his hands, and give him compliments while doing so. It’s not too much for Mac once he gets used to it.

└ Mac tries a bunch of teas for Sandy, and Sandy tries coffee for Mac. Macaque likes his coffee black, he’s just gotten used to it because he can’t always get creamer, and he just prefers it. So he has Sandy try it black and he hates it, he might not have said so but Mac could tell. So he sighs and puts creamer he leaves in Sandy’s house in it, just in case he wants pizzazz in his coffee that day. Then has him retry it, and boom Sandy is in love with two things.

neurodivergent lmk headcanons

( please keep in mind that op is autistic/adhd, and has dyscalculia plus dyspraxia. if i dont go into depth about other neurodivergencies, it is because i dont not have them. thank you! )

★ okay let’s start off with pigsy. honestly i see him as a neurotypical who is really knowledgeable about nd stuffs. OR he is autistic and has a special interest in cooking. honestly you could take it either way. but anywhom he ALWAYS carries a small bag with him, obviously for bandaids yeah but he also brings sensory headphones, fidget/stim toys, or small and soft stuffies. sandy definitely helped him with what to bring though.

★ now sandy, he’s either got adhd or is neurotypical like pigsy. like i really just see these two as the good nt friends. but to elaborate on the adhd hc. he on and off hyperfixates on tea. when he does fixate on the drink, he buys SO MUCH TEA. there’s usually two cabinets full in his house when he’s done. if he’s with someone and they’re having a sensory meltdown, he’ll try to scurry them out of where they are as soon as possible.

★ QXT (mk, it’s just the shortened version of qi xiaotian) is autistic/adhd and has dyspraxia. just, really poor balance. and with the combo of both autism AND adhd AND dyspraxia, he ended up really bad at following schedules (As we’ve sorta seen in the show). his special interest is well, monkey king. HE ALSO STIMS BY SNAPPING HIS FINGERS!! he messes with his hands a lot, he’d also jumps from one foot to the other to stim. and he totally does flappy arms, he’s very energetic and so “bigger” stims are usually what he does. OH AND HE HAS DYSCALCULIA. i saw the “and 2 + 2 = 3 ! the third ring!” scene and ran with it.

★ Red Son has tourettes and is very much autistic mhmhm. it’s a known symptom (a small percentage of people with tourettes) to have uncontrollable anger. here’s a great tiktok about it by the way! i dont have tourettes so i dont wanna go into depth with it !! but red son stims by playing with tiny fires, messing with the fabric of his clothes, or making hand gestures while speaking. the list goes on for his symptoms while ill probably make a separate post for. and also he repeats what people say sometimes under his breath.

★ Mei definitely has adhd and is PERHAPS autistic. she vocal stims a LOT. and flappy hands would probably be her most common stim. she really likes technology and so she probably gets hyperfixated on something new based around that every couple of weeks. she also has sensory headphones on her at all times for QXT.

★ sun wukong is definitely autistic and dyslexic. his special interest is peaches and i dont take no for an answer. (/j). he’s also horrible at social cues and understanding what personal space is but he tries his best to understand from past experiences. also NO VOLUME CONTROL. none. zero. he has a small stuffed monkey that QXT gave to him as a gift, it has the same texture as his fur and he usually stims/fidgets with it a lot.

★ macaque is also autistic, very bad at communication skills. he stims by taps his foot against the ground or clanking his teeth together gently. macaque 100% wears sensory headphones, mostly because of how LOUD everything is with his six ears, but also again, for sensory issues. he also really hates bright lights.

★ yin and jin are both autistic and have dyspraxia. you cant tell me they dont. they really like to stim by saying each other’s names.

★ nezha is also autistic. i dont have much reasoning quite yet because so far he only has like four minutes of screen time lmao, but he is! he talks very bluntly and likes to get his point across. he stims by tapping his fingers together and spinning his staff around. (doesnt have to be anything fancy, could just be a simply twirl)

★ TANG IS AUTISTIC. we all saw this one coming. his special interest is history, and also he infodumps a lot. he maybe also has dyspraxia, he has bad balance coordination skills, you can just tell!! he really likes to fidget with his glasses/scarf. he also taps his fingers on any nearby objects a lot.

xiaotian having to go on a two month trip with monkey king and redson has to stay behind. so when they see each other again after two months they do that run up to each other hug except xiaotian is the one picking up redson and twirling him and not the other way around.

random monkie kid qpr related headcanons, because i said so!

♡ oo okay so these will mostly be related to mei, red son, and mk. i will be calling them by the short versions of their names because it’s a lot easier for me to remember! i really only use their actual names in fics, anywhom!

♡ mk and mei are 100% in a qpr. they are super close. but their very clear boundaries and limits is that they dont wanna do anything farther than hugging. their qpr leans a lot more on the platonic side. but they do hug, occasionally cuddle, and hold hands!

♡ red son and mk however, they both have queerplatonic AND romantic feelings for one another. their relationship is mostly romantic but sometimes unlabeled. these two are very affectionate with each other and they go past kissing.

♡ red son and mei dont have an established relationship. but they do have something there, but they’d rather just have it linger than actually close something up. the two lean on each other a lot and hug but not much more than that. they cuddle each other only when mk is also with them.

♡ also mei only dates females romantically!!

♡ all three of them go on dates together!! mk usually picks the places they go to, which include arcades, cd stores, and roller skating parks!! (is that what theyre called?? roller rinks maybe?)

♡ red son and mk dont have bad sensory issues, red son’s being more severe than mks. so mei usually brings a small backpack with noise cancelling headphones, normal earbuds, fidget toys, etc! and mk usually brings noise cancelling headphones around for red son.

♡ cuddle piles!! sometimes mei might be burnt out from her parents, or mk from a fight, or red son from his own parents, and whoever goes up to the other two and just flops down on em. with permission! although red son has a nonverbal code for when he wants to do affectionate things.

♡ red son isnt good at asking for affectionate, or anything really. and sometimes the other two will get a “mk/mei! affection!” and the other two will happily give it to them as they are affection orientated. but when asking for this stuff, red son does get nervous, and his persona breaks. so he usually gives a small tug on mk’s sleeve twice if he was a hug, three times if he wants a kiss, and he taps on his shoulder three times if he wants cuddles. the cuddling and hug one also applies to mei.

♡ mk is usually drained out more often than the other two, so when they have movie nights he’s usually the first to fall asleep. when this happens red and mei look at each other, smile, and put a blanket over him and cuddle closer to their boyfriend.
