haikyuu characters and their s/o saying their first "i love you" in their relationship part 2

this is the second part of yesterday's post and, as promised, i'll be posting the characters that aren't at karasuno! also, i forgot to mention that i tried (probably didn't succed) to make everything as gender neutral as i could hehe i hope you enjoy!

part 1 - karasuno: here!

part 2 - other schools

aoba johsai

oikawa:

• will realize he loves you and won't say it, but he'll start acting weird

• you two fight bc he's avoiding you

• in the middle of the fight you let out a very pissed "i love you"

• he teases you "omg i love me too"

• you're about to cry bc it sounds like he doesn't care and then when he notices that he starts crying and says he loves you too pls dont leave him

• you laugh "i wasn't going to leave you please stop crying babe"

• he hugs you and cries on your chest until you calm him down, petting his hair, your arms around him

• will hold your hand, fingers intertwined, all the time after it happens like ALL. THE. TIME.

iwaizumi:

• you're kinda jealous bc he spends way too much time with oikawa

• he apologizes, says he loves you so will spend more time with you and invite you whenever he goes out with his best friend

• neither of you have braincells so his mistake remains unnoticed

• a week later you're thinking about that and realizes he said the l word

• you freak out and confront him

• he takes it naturally and says it again "i'll say it as many times as you wanna hear it"

nekoma

kuroo:

• will trick you into saying it first

• just for fun, wants to see you flustered

• his plan back fires, it doesn't work but you say it first anyways

• he's the one getting flustered

• you make sure it happens in front of everyone

• will get extra protective over you but it's not about the clothes ("omg those jeans really make your ass look great please wear it more often") it's more like "please pay more attention to all those people i don't want you to get hurt babe"

• small gifts every now and then "omg what are those earrings for?" "idk i thought you'd like them. did you like them?"

kenma:

• you say it first

• "kenma omg you're so cute i love you" whoops

• he blushes and it's kinda awkward bc it wasn't planned

• it takes him a few days but he finally says it back, it's whispered, he's stuttering, he hesitated before saying it and clearly got insecure after saying it but you know he means it

• it's the only time you remember hearing him saying i love you but meant the whole world for you both

lev:

• says it first

• super chill

• through text or over a phone call

• makes sure to act normal before and after so that you don't feel any pressure

• deep down really insecure but hides it well

• if you need, will repeat those words 1000x before you say it back

yaku:

• you don't say it first

• neither does he

• you're hanging with the nekoma boys and lev notices the way yaku looks at you so he just goes "omg he really loves you" thinking that he already said that to you

• well he didn't

• everyone else knows he didn't

• it goes super awkward and lev knows he messed up

• yaku glares at lev and he knows he's a dead man, it's just a matter of "wait until my s/o isn't here anymore dumbass"

• but yaku ends up admitting he loves you and everything ends with you two cuddling and the rest of the team teasing you

taketora:

• doesn't know how to approach you

• gets super shy when it comes to you

• wants to say it first, it's a matter of his honor

• will freak out over this

• you two share the same braincell so you decide to confess at the same time

• you're a lot more confident than him and you say the words at the exact same time

• you laugh it out

• bonus: who says the most "i love you"s in the shortest time competitions

fukuroudani

bokuto:

• will say it first, no hesitation, no regrets, no stuttering, but also no rush

• random, out of nowhere, you're idk netflix n chilling and he says it, not expecting an answer or anything

• when you say it back he hugs you tight and doesn't let go

• gets cuter and clingier and cuddlier than usual (and he's already a lot clingy, cuddly and cute)

• will out-love you

akaashi:

• asks for bokuto's help, ends up with a huge banner with huge red letters saying "i love you s/o"

• doesn't know about it until you drop at his apartment door asking why he would do that

• "do what?"

• you show him a photo of the thing and he gets super red

• you've never seen him this red and he blushes a LOT

• doesn't back off tho, spills his feelings on your face

• then hides behind his apartment door

• cute af

SO, to begin with, english isn't my first language so i'm sorry for the mistakes. also, this is my first hc post so it's probably very inaccurate i just wrote what i felt right and lastly i hope you enjoy!!

part 1 - karasuno

part 2 - other schools: here!

daichi:

• casually says it after you two dated for a few months

• unexpected

• gets insecure after you don't answer him for a moment

• then tells you that you don't have to feel pressured to say it back bc he loves you and won't force anything onto you, "i'll wait until you're ready"

• internally scared of this never happening and you end up dumping his ass but no regrets

asahi:

• won't say it

• will wait for you to say it bc he's scared of losing you/putting you off/scaring you away if he says it first

• when you say it he tears up a little bit

• when you ask him what's wrong he just hugs you and buries his face on your shoulder and whispers "i love you too"

• after it happens expect a lot of hugs, kisses, cuddles, compliments, and a lot of him admiring you with heart eyes

hinata:

• brags to his friends about being confident enough to tell you he loves you

• the moment he faces you his mind blanks and he can't say anything

• blushes

• all his friends are watching bc he's so "confident"

cute af

• ends up only saying it after kageyama called him an idiot

• lots of skinship, especially holding hands in public after it happens

kageyama:

• too stubborn to say it first

• will wait until you say it and at first won't say it back

• will say it back if you look sad or sth

• or if hinata or tsukishima call him a coward for not telling you what he feels

• takes him some time and effort but he loves you so he'll do his best to show it to you

tsukki:

• will say it first, accidentally, while he thinks you're asleep

• when he realizes you're not asleep blushes A LOT

• you laugh at him a bit

• he gets shy and grumpy and stops talking to you

• you kiss his cheek and whisper "i love you too" to him

• he becomes a blushing mess

• the next few days he's just a ball of clinginess, fluff, cuteness and everything nice, but only with you, not in front of others

yamaguchi:

• will try to say it but will be a stuttering mess

• lots of blushing, will highlight his freckles (extra cute)

• hesitates a lot

• gets stressed about it

• will lose sleep

• lots of mirror practice

• ends up saying it all in a rush, words get confused bc he said so fast

• blushes more when you say it back, hides his face

just the cutest ever, protect him please

noya:

• will say it out loud in front of many people, maybe at practice with the whole club, maybe in a restaurant when the team is celebrating a win bc he wants everyone to know it

• if you try to hide he will expose your identity

• probably not sober, either under alcohol effect, after having 5 gari gari kun popsicles or just endorphins from exercising who knows

• loud

• like really really loud

• gets super happy after saying it, you find it very cute

• you don't even think twice before saying it back

tanaka

• will ask for noya's advice on how to proceed

• wants it to be loud, also wants everyone to know

• "s/o, we have to talk"; the way he says it, the way he looks, the way he's acting, you think everything about it makes it seem like he's gonna break up with you, but actually he's just nervous

• tries to say it out loud, ends up whispering to you

• it's just the sweetest ever

• he doesn't want you to say it back without being sure bc then "it will get serious so pls think carefully, i don't want you to dive into this if you don't feel ready, take your time, i love you"

• no need to say you say it back right away

• for a week he ends all his sentences with " i love you" when talking to you

ennoshita:

• knows what he's doing

• takes you out on a date, makes you feel amazing, treats you a bracelet bc he knows you like bracelets, holds your hand, everything to make it clear that you're his treasure

• a movie like scene, but not planned, it's just his feelings for you are worth a disney movie

• like really a true speech full of feelings and poetic stuff and beautiful words he's using all his braincells which are a lot and his whole heart and ends the whole thing with the simplest "i love you", you end up even tearing up

• maybe even i fell in love with chikara now who knows

suga:

• will leave a message on your napkin as he packs your lunch "love u💕"

• no one will understand as you blush intensely at your college's cafeteria as you unpack your lunch

• you both act normal when you get back to his apartment

• he's kinda sad bc he thinks you didn't notice the message on the napkin but actually the napkin is nicely folded and protected inside your wallet

• the next day it's your turn to pack the lunch and you leave him a napkin written "love u too💕"

• it makes his day like really 100%

• really domestic bc i thought it would be cute af

• it becomes a habit to leave napkin messages to each other, it's your thing

• the first time you two say it out loud is when you two are leaving for classes and kiss goodbye and it comes out naturally, like you're an old married couple that's used to say it for decades

• it became even more domestic and at this point it's just clear that i really love him i'm so sorry

• bonus: you both keep your fav napkin messages somewhere secret so the other doesn't find out
