A freehand isometric ideation done during a freelance project for a very known architect from Mumbai, highlighting the various projects done by him and his influences. 

The play of gradation using pencil and later digital was fascinating, as to pull the audience into the geometry based architectural practices and make the user, navigate through the space in Escherish way of projections.

I was listening to Heimlich Knüller, a Belin based DJ and electronic artist. The playlist I was listening to had very compilation of groovy ethnic South American sounds. The playlist feature a b/w photograph which to me gave a sense of warm atmosphere for audience to connect with the artist in an artistic way amidst an urban setting. Titled - ‘Always plugged’

Still life of daily mundane things to reflect on reliance on electrical connection to make devices work including me. This aspect of constantly being connected and facing blackouts during monsoon is creating despair or rather a time to reflect on this dependance which is independant of the personal or professional needs during WFH.   The sketch also looks at the metaphor of being static while being connected during this phase of lockdown yet functioning and being in this push and pull of the social need and the want for solitude.  Medium - Pen tool on Illustrator

a midnight watercolour session as an organic way to mix colours and explore composition, I came across the insta handle of Savage Pahari, who captures sensuous emotions through words, photographs & Self portraits. So starting with base coats and then developing the work, really give me an understanding of the flow of step to apply the paint and mix of water. Since I’ve gained some base understanding of working with the colours, really looking forward to explore more such formats to try out. Cheers!

Banana Republic Current thoughts clouding the head from news, authoritarianism, economy, issues of displaced migrant workers & attitudes of privileged class made me think out loud from while I held the new watercolour brush against the textured paper. The title also suggests the Popular Indian Media house Republic News,known for right wing propaganda news, instigating and enraging the masses to spread hatred against fellow citizens, through the systematic propagated biases. The news is consumed by middle class and affluent class alike and takes it orders from the current govt. in power that has in last 6 years have created a massive divide on the basis of religion. Through this small piece, I am trying to portray the aspect of rationality and the power of questioning being absent and has taken to capitalism to address the aspirations of the nation.

Came across this blinder facade lettering panel of New York times. From far it looks like the letters are underneath the blinders, but actually its horizontal slat panels arranged in pixelation grid format, giving it a sense of transparency effect and levitating.

The presence of patriarchal asserts itself in all aspects of our society. The stereotypical gender roles and acute domestic violence are the dark faces of Urban and rural lives alike. This expression was brilliantly highlighted in the Indian film ‘Thapaad’ translating to Slap, where the act of slap in an affluent family by the working husband to her housewife, shocks the protagonist to  think of all the submissive duties, women in Indian households have to preform, in order to keep the men of the family happy.  The abstract expression is to portray the aspects of the male dominance, the act of slap and assertion of patriarchy through gradient shapes drawn organically.

Summer time calls for having  fruit juices. And to beat the heat outside and inside, what can be better and refreshing than sipping juice from either packed container or squeezing the juice out of the fruit.  This above is a quick typo-graphic expression, where the form of the fruit and the packed container (i.e. Tropicana) with overlays of fruity pastels, flused towards the bottom by gravity, portrays the essence of juice.

I came across a tied bunch of stems lying upright and unattended on the railway platform and had a epiphany to quickly record it. Its been an ongoing observation for me to capture nature within the urban context from the enquiry of the deforestation, urbanisation, disparity of spaces and the struggle of natural habitat and the urban environment. 

The thought for the capture is also to inform self and the audience to empathise and observe the ongoing struggles of nature and flora, to find its place within the human habitat, which rightfully belongs to them.
