But I want y'all to understand the potential impact of what Kendrick is doing. He waited until he got people drawn into the gossip to flip from normal rap battle stuff to an indictment of the entire OVO Sound studio for sex trafficking. He's not baselessly making this shit up, Baka was formally charged with "human trafficking and procuring for prostitution" (trafficking charges were dropped because the victim fled the city before testifying, but he was convicted of assulting her anyway) and then signed by Drake at OVO immediately after getting out of prison.

We all know how this shit goes. Witnesses are intimidated or killed and the whole thing gets brushed under the rug. Drake was summoned to a deposition for the murder of XXXTentacion (who tweeted "if someone kills me, Drake did it" shortly before his assassination) and got away with just not showing up because that's how much fucking money he has.

This is a big deal because Kendrick Lamar is too high-profile a whistle-blower to kill.

RIO GRANDE DO SUL / BRAZIL NEEDS YOUR HELP, PLEASE 🇧🇷

Guys, I know my blog isn't big at all for me to be doing this, but after living some of the most devastating and scary days of my life I feel the need to at least try.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure most of you don't know that the state of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) is going through the worst climate catastrophe in its history.

To give you some context, it started raining on Saturday (April 27th), and by Monday (April 29th) cities were already underwater. As days went by, and as rain didn't give us a single moment to catch a break, not only floods were a problem, but also multiple, huge landslides. By Wednesday (May 1st), it was like everything was falling apart around us. Everywhere.

Blackouts. No communication. No water supply. Brigdes collapsing. Roads washed out. Houses floating away. Animals drowning. People dying. Missing. Begging for help...

I mean, it's been a really long and painful week. There are so many videos and pictures that I could show you, and I still wouldn't be able to show and explain what we're going through.

Now, a week later (May 6th), we're still living this nightmare. Water follows the course of the river and it's like floods just move from one place to the other. On top of that, more rain is expected during the week.

So far*, out of 496 cities in the state, 341 cities have been somehow affected by all this. At least 78 people died, over 100 were reported missing, and at least 175 were injured. Also, over 134,000 people were forced to leave their homes behind, and most of them won't be able to return because houses aren't even there anymore.

So whilst we're doing our best here to help our people, volunteering ourselves and just doing whatever we can to try and start all over (cleaning up the streets and houses, making food, donating clothes and furniture, etc) we know there's only so much we can do without financial help. Which is why I'm writing this.

Hey there, I feel like this is a necessary post because we have some Brazilian girlies here.

The southern state of Brazil, my state, is literally underwater right now, thousands of people lost their homes, some died and some are missing due to heavy flooding. If you're in one of the affected areas, please be careful, pay attention to the news as some emergency numbers aren't working anymore, they're sharing new ones. Seek safe shelter, either with family members or the public ones. There's also a risk of dam failure, the Civil Defense is constantly updating on those, be aware to know when you have to evacuate the area. If you can help with donations or even sharing the news to get to more people, you're more than welcome. I'll leave some links showing how to help. Please be safe, it's a disaster out there! I hope everyone understands, when I say “most endangered habitat on earth”, I mean temperate grasslands.

They’re more endangered than tropical rainforests, coral reefs, the arctic tundra, all of those go-to environments that get more of the spotlight.

Where I live, maybe 25% of the prairie remains in a natural state and that number is dropping. Even these fragments are mostly missing the keystone species that maintain their health, like bison, wolves, and prairie dogs. I know this is the case for other grasslands like the pampas and steppe as well. Vast lands empty of many species that used to call them home.

If you live on temperate grasslands, hold onto them tight, because they’ve been exploited like no other land and most people don’t even know how far the devastation goes.
