This mystery book series I’m reading is wild. It’s about a eunuch solving crimes in 1830s Istanbul. And in every book so far this dude lovingly cooks about six exquisitely described food-porn-y meals and then cucks European dudes by fucking their wives. Incredible.

Vincent van Gogh - Olive Trees.
{This painting comes from a series of 15 canvases that Vincent dedicated to the subject of olive trees during his stay at the asylum of Saint-Rémy-de-Province, where he committed himself after suffering a series of breakdowns. When free to wander the countryside, he explored the region’s olive groves. “The murmur of an olive grove,” he wrote to his brother Theo, “has something very intimate, immensely old about it.”}

Fundraiser masterpost
Latest update: 28/04/2024.
This is a masterpost for the evacuation fundraisers I've vetted so far. The numbers next to the names have no significance beyond ease of navigation for me for when I check their progress in the future. You should look at the disclaimers instead and focus on those. Occasionally I will update these with new info, including new fundraisers, and the amount of cash that's been raised. Check in regularly on the original post when you see it being reblogged. In all likelihood once its reached you it's already outdated. This post is part of this masterpost (LINK TO BE INCLUDED, NEW WAVE OF POSTS COMING 01/05/2024) series compiling fundraisers for Ghazzah and Sudan. I focus on Ghazzah as I am Palestinian and am more equipped to do verifications as I'm more familiar with my own country and its politics and dialect, but if I know a fundraiser for a Sudanese family is legit I will include it here.

In a new heinous Israeli crime, occupation forces killed a Palestinian man by throwing him off a roof in the town of al-Dhahiriya, south of al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank.Rebhi Mansiya's father said his son was heading to work early this morning before being detained by IOF in Batn al-Aqra' neighborhood. Mansiya was among other workers in a vehicle on their way to their jobs when an Israeli force pursued them and blocked their path. According to the father, occupation soldiers chased his son into a building, where they detained him after brutally assaulting him. They then dragged him to the roof before pushing him off the building, leading to his martyrdom. The Israeli aggression against the West Bank has skyrocketed since the launch of the war on Gaza last October. Palestinian towns and cities are subjected to daily raids, alongside extensive arrest campaigns, resulting in an increase in the number of martyrs and injuries from Resistance confrontations with the occupation forces. A joint report issued by the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Club earlier this week revealed an alarming increase in the number of arrests since October 7, reaching 8480.

The Occupied Palestinian Territory is enveloped in a spiral of unstoppable violence, with stories Palestinians and other witnesses relay adding new depths to atrocities the world has witnessed since the beginning of Israel’s assault on Gaza over six months ago, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Francesca Albanese said today. “The pace and intensity with which this violence has spread to the rest of the occupied territory confirms that no Palestinian is safe under Israel’s unfettered control,” Albanese said, concluding a visit to Egypt and Jordan. The Special Rapporteur said Israel had once again arbitrarily denied her access to the Occupied Palestinian Territory, compelling her to report on the situation of Palestinians under occupation from neighbouring states. Albanese said her visit demonstrated that the situation in Gaza is worse than previously assessed, with serious and multi-layered long-term implications. Most victims she met had endured catastrophic injuries, witnessed family members killed and experienced the effects of Israel’s destruction of Gaza’s health infrastructure, even after 26 January 2024, when the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a ruling ordering Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza. Patients that previously arrived in Egypt primarily with explosive and war injury-related symptoms are now joined by patients with chronic diseases and/or malnutrition, especially children, arising from Israel’s intentional humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. “Photos from a mere eight months ago show a chubby-cheeked 8-year-old Hamid, now rake thin and spending his days in excruciating pain due to pancreatitis developed through the harsh conditions of the siege,” the Special Rapporteur said. “Those who have left Gaza come out fractured and wracked by ‘survivors’ guilt’ and severe trauma,” Albanese said. “Just 50 kilometers away from the Gaza Strip, crucial, life-sustaining aid and goods, including water desalination equipment, first aid kits, oxygen cylinders and portable toilets – paid for by taxpayers across the world – languish in warehouses, barred entry into Gaza on the pretext of use by combatants.” “Humanitarian measures implemented so far – airdrops and maritime corridors – are a mere palliative for what is desperately needed and legally due,” the expert said. “These measures are grossly inadequate to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe that Israel’s assault has created.” “At this point, Israel has reneged on its international obligations to a degree that warrants a call for sanctions,” Albanese said.

Gaza’s Civil Defense, in a statement released on 30 April, estimates that there are roughly 10,000 bodies of Palestinians stuck under the rubble since the beginning of Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip. The general director said that these missing bodies are not included in the death toll numbers issued by the Ministry of Health as their bodies have not been brought and counted in the hospitals. This brings the current number of Palestinians killed to over 44,000. According to the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor (Euro-Med) numbers published on 23 April, the current death toll is at 42,510. The Euro-Med figures include those missing after being detained and forcibly disappeared by Israeli forces and those who have been trapped under rubble for over two weeks. The general directorate of Gaza’s civil defense said that it received many calls from people volunteering to remove the bodies of Palestinians from under the rubble to give them a proper burial. Al-Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif documented the efforts of civil defense crews which took on the task of recovering bodies from under the rubble. “Efforts by civil defense teams and volunteers began to recover the bodies of martyrs from under the rubble of their homes,” Sharif said in a video posted on social media from inside what remained of a building subjected to Israeli attacks late last year. “It is estimated that there are more than fifty martyrs under the rubble of the house.” Sharif continued by saying, “Civil defense personnel face great difficulties due to the lack of advanced equipment, which forces them to use primitive tools in search and recovery operations for the decomposed bodies of the martyrs.” Gaza’s civil defense said that with the methods it is forced to use to clear the debris, it will take two to three years to search through 37 tons of rubble

I've watched the people boosting this gofundme become more and more desperate as the Rafah invasion draws near:

This baby was born during this genocide and has only ever known this genocide. If you can donate to help her family evacuate, please do.
If you were thinking about donating to any evacuation, now is the time. They don't have much left.

I know I didn't say anything yesterday when I reblogged this post. I didn't want to scare my Ghazzan followers, but you need to understand what's at stake here. This situation really really scares me. I'm in contact with several young men in Ghazzah right now. The entire point of what I'm doing with them is fundraising a way for them to leave.
I am terrified of us accumulating that extremely-difficult-to-acquire amount just for this to be their fate. I don't know what to do. Everytime we find a solution they come to stamp it out. I can't see these young men I'm talking to end up like this. I will lose my mind.
